Watford, England's own Mod geezers, The Spitfires, continue to spread their wings across the contemporary punk and ska scene. Perhaps the most 'spork-through-the-nose' they get on this album is "The New Age", while the overtly acoustic and psychedelic number "Year Zero" - an album highlight - helps the the LP descend into something of a melancholic closer with "Dreamland". It's far from an album made by a band stuck in the mud created by The Pogues or The Jam, with opening track "Remains The Same" bringing some cheery summer dub to otherwise jangling sounds and horns. The attitude heard in "Something Worth Fighting For" is by all means something worth listening to, but if it's crushed beer cups and mosh pits you want, look no further than "Over & Over Again".
