American rock band Tommy James & the Shondells formed in Michigan in 1964 and are best known for their number one hits 'Hanky Panky' and 'Crimson and Clover' but released plenty more music. The complete selection of it is now assembled on this bumper Celebration: The Complete Roulette Recordings 1966-1973 which comes across whopping six CDs. There are over 130 tracks in all and 16 tracks that were only ever released on 45s or were previously unissued until earlier compilations were released on CD. It traces the evolution of the band from bubblegum pop through to psychedelic albums and more introspective later works.
