The White Label series on Kontra-Musik has fairly been dominated by elder Scandinavian pranksters Frak since it was established some three years ago, with only Fishermen and Massprod and Herva 12"s breaking up the Borft bad men. Frak main man Jan Svensson is responsible for the latest KMWL under his creatively revived Villa Abo alias and if you've enjoyed his recent solo outings you will definitely want to seek out Different Systems. Harsh modulated tones open "Askew The Eternity" before Svensson deviates off into cavernous acid territory augmented by rugged lo fi drums. "In The End" is a more spacious affair rhythmically speaking and it allows Svensson to lay down some serious sci-fi bleeps in the gaps. "Between Doomsday & Now" could be seen as a tongue in cheek attempt at Berghain techno whilst "Friendship Over Different Systems" is crawling, primal electronics at its finest.
