Since first poking his head above the parapet in 2007, Warren "Wbeeza" Brown has delivered a regular stream of emotive, dancefloor-friendly deep house releases. Given this track record, it's a surprise to find that Expression of Love is only his second album (his debut, Void, dropped back in 2010). Predictably, it's a fine full-length, stocked full of woozy, soulful, jazz-flecked deep house jams. As usual, he manages to strike the perfect balance between warm, bass-driven dancefloor weightiness and hazy, dust encrusted jazziness. While this usually manifests itself in rolling, groovy 4/4 cuts, there are occasional trips into MPC style beat-making territory - a decision that gives Expression of Love a more rounded feel than many similar house LPs.
