Arriving at a distinction she dubbed 'post-plague pop', All Born Screaming centres on a crooked and menacing sound with a reckless spirit, with lead cuts like 'Broken Man' giving raw Knife-like instrumentation and masc monarchic ironies on the lyrics, as if to suggest a significant patriarchal downfall to come. Collecting their early works before the band's first album in 1978 was not an easy task and this thorough three disc collection also includes a few rough demos of later fan favourites like 'Space Junk', 'A Plan For You' and 'Can You Take It'. This set is beautifully designed and packaged, complete with limited 'rubber gloves' and pressed on coloured vinyl with a fold out poster. If you're an early Devo fan, this is release you cannot afford to miss.
