Review: Blondie’s celebrated early years are finally getting a definitive retrospective with a long-awaited series of box sets, Against The Odds 1974-1982. While a 10xLP super deluxe edition includes all six studio albums - Blondie, Plastic Letters, Parallel Lines, Eat To The Beat, Autoamerican, and The Hunter - this 4xLP limited ed red version is for the rarities heads only, featuring such obscurios as ‘Plaza Sound, Parallel Beats, Coca Cola, and Home Tapes, variants of their better known titles. It’s a feast for the eyes and ears, too, as the edition comes complemented by two books: a 144-page volume with band commentary and essays from producers Richard Gottehrer and Mike Chapman, plus a 120-page discography with rare artwork and memorabilia.
