Review: 25 years and seven albums deep: Blu Mar Ten still have something important to say. With a barbed dystopian feel laced throughout the atmospheres, here we find the trio stepping back and contemplating on some of their finest motifs: the rough, slightly unfinished edge of tracks like "Rollcage", "Titans" and "Empire State"; their silkier, star-gazing introspective stance on tracks like "Forest Fire" and "Fall From Grace" and their widescreen, filmic narratives such as "Immortal Beloved" and "Delirium". Stunning, rolling and laced in soul; you could easily argue this to be Blu Mar Ten's best album so far. Yes, it's that good.

Review: It would be fair to say that excitement has been building since Goldie announced the release of The Journey Man earlier this year. You see, the expansive, triple-vinyl full-length is the Metalheadz man's first album since 1998's patchy Saturnz Return, and is being trumpeted by those who've heard it in full as a triumphant return to form. It naturally features some sweeping, classical instrumentation, but there's nothing as self indulgent as the hour-long "Mother". Furthermore, Goldie has wisely delivered a set of high quality drum and bass that ticks numerous boxes - dancefloor darkness, jungle revivalism, liquid funk warmth - with a string of suitably impressive collaborators (Ulterior Motive, Swindle, Jose James, Natalie Williams, Terri Walker) swinging by to ensure the set oozes soul.

Review: With a discography stretching back to the mid 1990s to his name, Tom Withers AKA Klute is now one of drum & bass's elder statesmen. We can forgive him, then, for taking his time over Read Between The Lines, his first album in four years (and eighth in total). Beginning with the skittish live breakbeats, foreboding chords and on-point Stamina MC vocals of "Lose My Way", Withers lays down a succession of tracks that blend his usual punchy D&B and revivalist jungle rhythms with nods to electrofunk, skewed funk, spacey soul, vintage UK garage, trippy electronica and the kind of experimental D&B that made Exit Recordings famous. The overriding feel, though, is of an artist bending liquid funk into inviting new shapes.

Review: Hospital boss London Elektricity returned to the release realm last year with this first album in four years... And his best album in well over 10 years. With the originals already doing the damage in all areas, he's passed the stems over to his Med School counterparts and given them the green light to reinterpret as they see fit. Highlights hang, swing and leap from every corner as the likes of Frederic Robinson switches "Seven Days To Live" into a futuristic synth soul frenzy, S.P.Y adds a touch more low-end grit to "Why Are We Here?", Kimyan Law flips "That Thing You Did" into a deep dream with some really interesting drum work and Rawtekk turn "Telefunken Lizard Filter" into a toxic, halftime swamp monster. With versions and VIPs from the likes of Keeno, Etherwood, Bop, Subwave and many more, this is less of a remix album and much more of a straight-up opus.

Review: Danish producer Milan Zaks has largely impressed since releasing his first cassette of dusty, rave-influenced downtempo grooves last year. Modern Species, his first outing for Firecracker Recordings, is easily his most expansive and impressive release to date. Stretched out across two slabs of wax you'll find dreamy, jungle-influenced deepness ("World A", "For Real For You"), cosmic dub ("Stellar Clusters", "Ascension"), spacey ambient techno ('Entry Mode"), Motor City influenced positivity ("Parallax") and Boards of Canada style loveliness ("Reluctant Memory"). Predictably, it's all superbly produced, with the material proudly sitting in the no man's land between club-ready rollers and horizontal home listening fare.

Review: Austrian twosome Camo & Krooked have become genuine drum & bass heavyweights since making their debut back in 2006, thanks in no small part to a string of well-received albums on Hospital Records. Now residing on the similarly established Ram Records, the duo regards Mosaik as their most intricate, well-produced and musically expansive body of work to date. It's hard to argue with this assessment. Weighing in at 13 tracks deep and chock full of collaborations with guest vocalists and fellow producers, the tracks not only fizz with their usual colourful synths and punchy, minimalist D&B rhythms, but also the simmering beauty of sweeping orchestration, the familiar jangle of acoustic guitars, and all manner of ear-pleasing flourishes. DJs will be happy to hear that they've not left the dancefloor behind, with all but a handful of the tracks being primed for club play.

Review: Rudimental's third full-length, "Toast To Our Differences", was originally slated for release back in September, but ended up being delayed. So was it worth the wait? It's certainly a colourful, vibrant and expansive affair, with the quartet drawing on a far wider palette of influences than were evident on their previous albums. Check, for example, the title track's glistening, South African style tropical pop, the piano-powered cheeriness of "These Days", the soaring power pop of previous single "Sun Comes Up" and the auto-tune heavy EDM-house stomp of "Scared of Love". Given their superstar status, it's unsurprising to see an impressive cast list of guests and collaborators - Major Lazer, Rita Ora and Ladysmith Black Mambazo included - while this "Deluxe Edition" includes a trio of extra tracks.
