Killer value from Moog's entry-level synth. Easy to assemble from a few components (no soldering required), then explore the classic Moog sound with Eurorack-compatible semi-modular patch points.

Supplier's Notes:
Mavis is a build-it-yourself analogue synthesizer kit that delivers the huge depth of sound Moog is known for in a compact and feature-packed instrument. Assembly is extremely simple; users of any skill level can quickly assemble their own analogue synthesizer with minimal tools and experience. Perfect for first time users and established synthesists alike, Mavis' semi-modular design and 1-octave keyboard will get you started making sound immediately without the need for additional equipment (except for a speaker or headphones). As a stand-alone instrument, Mavis is a straightforward analogue synthesizer with patchable modular utilities and the unmistakable Moog sound and quality. Easily remove Mavis from its case and it becomes a 24-point CV controllable module (44hp) ready to be installed into your Eurorack system or alongside Moog's other semi-modular instruments. Mixing the familiar with the exotic, Mavis features Moog's legendary oscillator and filter circuits alongside a diode wavefolder - the first analogue wavefolder to appear on a Moog instrument. Combining traditional subtractive synthesis with additive wavefolding and oozing with personality, Mavis' clever presentation of synthesis modules and utilities ensure deep creative synergy and musical connection.
Mavis is a powerful, fun, and low-cost Moog that makes learning synthesis or expanding an already-advanced studio setup approachable for anyone looking to explore classic analogue sound in a new way.

Built-in keyboard with Glide and KB scaling

As a standalone instrument or as a 44HP Eurorack module, Mavis adds an expressive 1 v/o controller to any setup with the flexibility to dial in experimental new pitch relationships via the KB scale knob and explore musical intervals that go beyond the established standards.

Full Range Analogue Oscillator

A Voltage Controllable Oscillator with PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), Waveform mixing, and Mod Source mixing, delivers rich harmonic character and motion.

Voltage Controlled Filter

Sculpt your sound with the -24-dB Moog Low Pass Ladder Filter, delivering the sonic power behind the distinct sounds of Moog basslines and leads.

Audio Rate LFO and 4-Stage Envelope Generator

Mavis uses crossfaders in its modulation routing instead of switches, allowing you to blend between a variable shape LFO and four stage envelope generators for interesting and unusual modulation contours.

Wavefolding and Modular Utilities

Mavis features Moog's first-ever wavefolding circuit, allowing for additive synthesis to sit alongside traditional subtractive synthesis, and features a broad modular utilities section complete with attenuators, offsets, mults, and a flexible DC-coupled mixer.

Patchable Sample and Hold (S+H) circuit:

Generates a random CV pattern that can be patched to modulate other parameters, including setting Mavis into a "random sequencing" mode of performance.

24-Point Patch Bay

Mavis is eager to play along with other voltage-controlled devices (especially with Moog's other semi-modular instruments), and its useful collection of utilities and flexible control voltage routing allow for intricate dialogue between them.

Protective Cover

Mavis includes a fitted protective cover for use during studio downtime or taking your instrument on the go.

Build one yourself. Get closer to the circuits at the heart of Mavis and come away with a Moog analogue synthesizer that is uniquely "yours". No soldering is required and can be completed by any skill level in an afternoon.

This compact yet mighty synthesizer with classic Moog circuitry, a built-in keyboard, 24 patch points, and an all-analogue sound engine-complete with Moog's first-ever wavefolding circuit-offers great value to any synthesist.

Notes: ***B-STOCK: Item refurbished, repaired and in perfect working order.***

The original Modor NF-1 has one main disadvantage: it's quite big and heavy. Not your favourite piece of hand luggage to carry around. So, here is the smaller, portable version. And of course, a smaller device means a smaller price...!

This comes of course with a smaller number of front panel controls... The Modor NF-1m has 7 context dependant controls grouped in 15 edit pages with a set of 6 pushbuttons to access these pages quickly. Every parameter is just a button press away!

Not unimportant, the NF-1m has new rotary controls with a more stable feeling than the controls on the original NF-1.

Next to that, there are 2 large 'definable controls', DEF1 and DEF2. These controls can be assigned to any sound parameter so that you can 'preselect' two parameters in every patch to have a permanent dedicated control on the front panel. This makes it easy to access your favourite parameters, no matter in which edit page you are...

Modor NF-1 8-Voice Digital Desktop Synthesiser (white) Modor NF-1 8-Voice Digital Desktop Synthesiser (white) Modor NF-1 8-Voice Digital Desktop Synthesiser (white)
Cat: 603434 Rel: 06 Apr 16

Rackmountable 8 voice polyphonic digital desktop synthesiser with 448 patch memory (14 banks of 32 patches)
Notes: The Modor NF-1 synth is a digital DSP synth very comparable to the classic Virtual Analog synths, but Modor is moving further on from this point. We use the classic structure of VA-synths, with oscillators, filters and effects, with parameters that can be modulated using LFO's and envelopes. But every element has been rethought and reinvented. In a digital way.

The NF-1 has a classic 12dB/oct resonant filter, but we are also giving it a versatile formant filter, never seen in hardware before! It does make classic sawtooth waves, but we're also including a lot of other brand new modulatable noisy waveforms! It has a classic delay effect, but we make every parameter editable to give way to special unexpected effect types! And so on...

Oscillator section:
- 3 identical fully independent oscillators
- 10 waveforms:
- SAW: pulse width modulation sawtooth wave
- SQU: pulse width modulation pulse wave
- TRI: pulse width modulation triangle wave
- SYNC: sounding like a oscillator-synced wave
- ADD: additive harmonics
- SONAR: resonant bandpass filtered noise
- WIND: wind instrument noise
- ARC: arcade game style noise
- FM: sinus FM pair
- FBFM: feedback sinus FM pair

Filter section:
- 12dB/oct resonant filter switchable as lowpass, hipass, bandpass or bandstop (notch)
- Formant filter with 3 morphing vowels, 10 vowel presets and user controllable formant frequencies

Effects section:
- 'Comb filter' effect section to create chorus, flanger, ... effects
- Delay effect section to create echo effects
- All parameters can be set independently and are modulatable

Cat: 755493 Rel: 09 Apr 20

analogue polyphonic desktop synthesiser & sequencer
Notes: The SYNTH PRO is the advanced, polyphonic version of the SYNTH II. All oscillators are discretely structured. So here are for the sound base so no highly integrated chips are used, but proven components that even in Synthesizer 40 years ago produced a great analog sound. If required, the VCOs can be switched over to the particularly stable DCO mode, for example if unfavorable environmental conditions have to be overcome. The provided waveforms can be superimposed and additionally modulated by different sources. VCO2 and VCO3 can be synchronized to the first oscillator. For this purpose, VCO1 and VCO2 can be frequency-modulated with VCO3. In the SYNTH PRO, two filters are used per voice, which can be connected in series or in parallel. The low-pass filter works as a cascade filter with a slope of 24 dB / oct. and uses the popular SSI 2144. Multifilter and VCAs are based on OTA's. Both filters and the VCA's can be modulated by different sources. The LFOs and envelopes are calculated per voice by fast processor. There is also a dedicated chip for the effects section. This can produce not only reverb and echo but also chorus and flanging effects. The built-in sequencer works polyphonically and is available in addition to a monophonic arpeggiator.

Meng Qi Wing Pinger Analogue Synthesiser (Banana Version) Meng Qi Wing Pinger Analogue Synthesiser (Banana Version) Meng Qi Wing Pinger Analogue Synthesiser (Banana Version)
Cat: 799797 Rel: 15 Jan 21

4-pole resonate low pass filter analogue synth module
Notes: The Wing Pinger is an analogue musical instrument, centered around a pair of 4-pole resonating low pass filters.

Filter Pinging

Wing Pinger exploits the idea of filter pinging (the operation of using narrow pulses as filter input). With Q near self-oscillation it makes naturally decaying tones of various lengths, assembling sounds from percussions to plucking. A special Q compensation is implemented, to balance pinging behaviors at different pitches.

Intuitive Playability

Essential controls unveil the complex synthesizer patch hidden within, respond musically to your playing. Control layout is in symmetric, follows natural hand position with comfortable spacing. All control components are of light action and silky smooth. As the signals from filters generate pulses and modulations, the Q controls become playful and interactive.

Chaos

With multiple feedback and cross modulation paths, Wing Pinger operates according to the principles of chaos theory. All parameters except volume are interactive, future outputs are related to the current state as well as parameter settings.

Tonal Patterning

Be chaotic at will, you don't miss the expressions from melodies. Wing Pinger is capable of generating pentatonic patterns from its carefully weighted STEP modulation. With practice, you can play noise or melody at will.

External Sound Processing

Process stereo or dual mono signals through the filters, add spice to the tone, generate movements with special Wing Pinger modulations.

CV / Gate

Wing Pinger talks to modular synthesizers via Banana jacks. Use TRIGGER outputs to sync external synthesizers and to filter pings. STEP outputs are weighted mixes from shift registers.

Note: the Wing Pinger is delivered WITHOUT a power supply! The Wing Pinger runs on 12V center positive power supply. 1A or more is recommended.

Mayer-EMI MD900 Extended Virtual Analogue X-VA 16-Voice Polyphonic Desktop Synthesiser Mayer-EMI MD900 Extended Virtual Analogue X-VA 16-Voice Polyphonic Desktop Synthesiser
Cat: 864703 Rel: 06 May 22

MD900 extended Virtual Analog (XVA) Desktop Synthesiser.
Notes: An absolute powerhouse of a synth with 16-voice polyphony, stereo architecture and a four-part multitimbral digital sound engine. Built-in sequencers, sample playback and effects make it a true all-rounder.

Supplier's Notes:
MD900 is a polyphonic desktop synthesizer, multitimbral with 4 parts. A polyphony of up to 16 voices are shared by the 4 multi-timbral parts. All of these 4 parts have their own effect stack [Mod-Delay (flanger, chorus, vibrato), Reverb, Tube-AMP, EQ, LP-Filter, DYNAMIC (Limiter) , Stereo Delay ...].

The overall audio path is stereo. Rationally, the oscillator, mixer filter, amps and effects are all in stereo.

Four independent arpeggiator und step sequenzer assigned to each of the four synth parts. The trigger sequencer may trigger the built in transient sample player (Drum Kit .wav) or send triggers to MIDI-Out (USB-DIN or USB-MIDI)

The housing is made of aluminum with real walnut wood on the front and back.

All components are industrial grade. On the operator panel we use precision potentiometer with aluminum covered knobs.

For some parameter entries we use endless encoder without rest.

This kind of encoders feels like a potentiometer.

All of this feels very valuable and it feels great to work with.

The MD900 XVA engine is patch compatible with the M800-R2 synthesizer.

Overview Firmware OS:

The XVA-Sound Engine of the MD900 runs on top of a Linux OS with real time extensions. The overall boot time is < 30 sec.

All contents like Wavetable-, Sample-files, preset and sub-preset files are stored on the internal filesystem.

The filesystem is accessible over ethernet (USB-Lan Adapter).

Managing presets, samples, wavetables configurations & updates are possible and easy to handle.

Operation Panel:

The operation panel gives you real time control to the major voice parameters with a dedicated knob. All parameters are accessible via touch-display and the endless rotary encoders. The part (timbre) has to be selected to alter the parameter on the dependent timbre.

The module specific info display gives the necessary detailed feedback on the parameter changes.

A modern classic. Superb little semi-modular monosynth in its own right, but comes alive when paired with other modular gear. A great option for beginners and experienced synth users alike.

Supplier's notes:
The 0-COAST is a single voice patchable synthesizer. Its name reflects the fact that it utilizes techniques from both the Moog and Buchla paradigms (aka "East Coast," and "West Coast," due to their locations), but is loyal to neither and thus implements "no coast synthesis."

While the 0-COAST utilizes classic modular synthesis techniques, it's designed to operate with or without the use of patch cables. The necessary connections have been made from circuit to circuit so it operates as an expressive, musical MonoSynth. Using only the MIDI controller of your choice you could apply new timbres to your existing musical forms!

Using the included Patch Cables you could get more scientific, experimenting with new ways to wire up the circuits. You might even forgo MIDI altogether, disappearing into a cloud of analog FM induced Sidebands and harmonics scattered around a single fundamental drone that has nothing to do with any form of music you've ever known.

Majella Audio Implexus West & East Coast Analogue Desktop Synthesiser Majella Audio Implexus West & East Coast Analogue Desktop Synthesiser Majella Audio Implexus West & East Coast Analogue Desktop Synthesiser
Cat: 913189

A hardware desktop synthesiser combining west- and east-coast synthesis techniques into a single formfactor.
Notes: The IMPLEXUS is a hardware desktop synthesizer combining west - and east-coast synthesis techniques into a single formfactor. The IMPLEXUS uses analogue waveshaping, folding and audio rate modulation to create a immense range of sounds and textures!

The IMPLEXUS is a performance-oriented musical instrument which will inspire you to compose music and explore its unique soundscape. The IMPLEXUS has a carefully designed analogue signal path with many unique ways to create intriguing sounds. The many sound shaping methods and modulation possibilities help you to create west-coast style harmonically rich sounds as well as thick east-coast analogue sounds.

The IMPLEXUS has a powerful "one-knob-per-function" interface with graphical feedback, utilizing LED rings to indicate modulators. The drone mode, tap tempo and looping envelopes let you explore the IMPLEXUS as a standalone sound generator. The MIDI and Eurorack compatibility and clock synchronisation options make sure it can be played in every setting. The IMPLEXUS is built to last. It has metal shaft potentiometers, an aluminium casing with scratch and solvent resistant graphics and an internal power supply (no adapter!). The IMPLEXUS is a characteristic, unique and complete musical instrument.

"West-Coast"

The characteristic sound of the IMPLEXUS comes from shaping and folding a sinewave, resulting in a complex waveform. The shaping and folding can be modulated at audio-rate in a single knob turn utilizing the second generator. Instead of subtracting you will be adding harmonics. After tweaking for a while you will be surprised to find out you didn't touch the filter... yet.

Unique filter design

The IMPLEXUS offers a 12dB/oct VCF with a unique analogue topology. This filter offers a lowpass and highpass mode. For cutoff modulation there is an envelope amount control with polarizer and a CV input on the back of the IMPLEXUS. There is an input mixer that has amplitude control over three inputs: complex generator, basic generator and the sub-oscillator.

Syncable delay

The IMPLEXUS has a stereo digital delay with dry/wet, delay-time and feedback control. There is a subtle modulation difference between the left and right channels to create a wide stereo image.
The delay can be synchronized to MIDI and external (modular) clock sources. Also the delay can be synchronized to Tap Tempo. For clock synchronization there are five divisions: 1/1 3/4 1/2 1/3 1/4.

Global pitch controls

The IMPLEXUS has a global pitch control section offering control over glide rate and pitch envelope amount. There is a dedicated vibrato LFO with manual control over amount and frequency.

Syncable LFO's

The IMPLEXUS has two LFO's with a variety of waveforms and multiple modulation destinations. The LFO's offer a wide range of 0.01 - 100Hz and can be BPM synced to MIDI and external clock. The LFO's can also be synchronized to Tap Tempo and can even be set in five different divisions.

Connections

The IMPLEXUS offers a 1/4" stereo balanced output. In addition to that there is a stereo headphone output with dedicated volume control.
There is standard MIDI input and thru over DIN and USB. Also there is a eurorack compatible patchbay on the back. This extends the sound and modulation possibilities of the IMPLEXUS even more!

Built in VCO tuner

There is a strobe tuner with 3 LED's on board, which lets you tune both the Complex and the Basic generator to a perfect "A" within just a couple of seconds.

A unique project by a small company

Majella Audio is a small company, and because of that, Majella Audio do most of the design and development themselves. The amount of hard work and effort that went into this project is what makes the IMPLEXUS a unique piece of gear with outstanding build quality. Majella Audio have created a few "How its made" videos to give you an insight into the design and development of the IMPLEXUS, which are viewable on their web page.

LEP Arpopone Analogue Melody & Bass Line Generator Desktop Synthesiser (wooden box version) (B-STOCK) LEP Arpopone Analogue Melody & Bass Line Generator Desktop Synthesiser (wooden box version) (B-STOCK)
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order***

The Arpopone from LepLoop is a little synth-voice for generating a melody or bass line and a chord section at the same time. It is based on analog ramp dividers of which each one generates a voltage ramp starting from a master clock that can be internal or external.

Trig1 and Trig2 potentiometers set the number of clock pulses.

With the Trig Mix switch it is possible to select between a single trigger (1 or 2) or both (1+2) to advance the scales.

The Scale Step potentiometer sets the number of steps for the two scale generators.
In the mixer section, the two scales are summed together to obtain a more complex pattern. The amount of each scale can be set by two controls and can be positive (ascending scale) or negative (descending scale).

With the VCO Pitch knob, the melody can be transposed while maintaining the same interval between notes.

The note generated by the VCO is fed to a chain of dividers to obtain four sub harmonics of the original note. One of these is the bass section with its own filter and envelope, the other three form the chord section with their envelope.

The two envelope sections are identical, both have a selector for different trigger sources:

Trig1 & Trig2: the envelope starts at the flash of the green LED (bass) or yellow LED (chord)
SB1 & SB2: the envelope starts at the first step of Scale1 (bass) or Scale2 (chord)
White & Blue: the envelope follows the intensity of the white LED (bass) or the blue LED (chord). Except for this setting the envelope length is set by the two controls Bass ENV and Chord ENV. Additionally, an EXT CV input allows to provide an external envelope.
The bass channel is passed through a resonant low-pass filter with Cutoff and Resonance control.

Finally the Bass and Chord channels are mixed together. The output level is set by the Bass LEV and Chord LEV controls.

Landscape Stereo Field Quad Modular Touch Plate Feedback Atonal Synthesiser Landscape Stereo Field Quad Modular Touch Plate Feedback Atonal Synthesiser Landscape Stereo Field Quad Modular Touch Plate Feedback Atonal Synthesiser Landscape Stereo Field Quad Modular Touch Plate Feedback Atonal Synthesiser
Cat: 642532 Rel: 21 Sep 17

A stereo/quad modular touch plate feedback atonal synthesizer, a stereo/quad audio processor and a pressure sensitive chaotic CV "controller"
Notes: Stereo Field is one instrument with three uses. It is simultaneously a stereo/quad modular touch plate feedback atonal synthesizer, a stereo/quad audio processor and a pressure sensitive chaotic CV "controller". All three uses are available separately as well as simultaneously and in conversation with each other.

The Stereo Field allows its user to manipulate and patch two analogue stereo preamp circuits via touch plates. By utilizing skin conductivity as new paths for current to follow you are creating "new circuits" and new sounds in relation to where your fingers are patching. The individual touch plates are directly connected to nearly every connection point of every component in its circuitry (located directly under each corresponding touch plate).

When touched with multiple fingers it will create atonal analogue feedback with either of the two mirrored circuits represented by interlocking touch-plate circles. The resulting feedback can go beyond the abilities of human hearing (take caution!) and down to the very slow clicks of a saw waveform and both can often be happening simultaneously. These parallel mirrored circuits can be finger patched separately or together yielding vastly different chaotic results in regards to texture, timbre and stereo imaging. This instrument has the ability to create atonal synth tones in stereo (and quad) as well as process incoming stereo audio (and quad) sources via 1/4" and 3.5mm ins and outs. Incoming audio sources can be "patched" or rewoven into any area of either or both of the circuits via skin contact.

The two stereo input volume knobs (centre) shape and effect distortion, drive amounts, internal feedback pitch, and modulation rates depending on how your fingers are patching. The quad inputs and outputs via the 3.5mm jacks have small touch plates leading to and from allowing for touch access of each of the 4 inputs and 4 outputs. If multiple audio signals are traveling into the Stereo Field these audio sources can be intermingled and can modulate one another, again depending upon where your fingers are patching.

Sending CV signals into the 3.5mm input jacks will open up many more possibilities both in terms of synthesized sounds and audio processing. Since the two stereo circuits are mirror images of one another the 3.5mm ins and outs can also be thought of as (L/R,R/L) and when your hands get involved this imaging will be further confused and jumbled as your skin can intermingle all of these paths.

The Stereo Field can also be used as a controlled chaos source when using the 3.5mm outputs to send the feedback your hands create as CV to your modular system. Due to the nature of feedback and finger patching the 4 available CV signals have the ability to get incredibly complex, organic and textured in nature (see audio examples below in use with a euro-rack system). Because of the open nature of Stereo Field it can both send and receive CV modulation simultaneously. In addition, this can all be happening while your finger patching is changing and altering the incoming and outgoing CV while also processing incoming audio. These ins and outs can also be patched together with cables for sustained tones with the pitch/rhythm/volume/"cutoff" being affected by adjusting the incoming and outgoing volume knobs in various settings. Inter-patching in this way will also allow for sustained pulse beats and filter-esque sound shaping in addition to bringing new results to finger patching via the touch plates.

Most importantly, processed audio and synthesized audio are available simultaneously with the ability to influence and modulate each other. This will often blur the lines between the two; who is manipulating who, who comes out on top as audio and who is modulation? This can be a constantly evolving cycle based upon where the performers fingers are placed and highly sensitive skin contact pressure changes.

Landscape Soundwich Device Landscape Soundwich Device Landscape Soundwich Device
Landscape Soundwich Device (audio trigger/processing device)
Cat: 835758 Rel: 17 Aug 22

A device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material
Notes: Soundwich is a device based on the sound of tact switches, hardware and PCB material. In part it's a compact and sturdy form factor for interaction with piezo experimentation. The piezo disks are directly mounted to the undersides of the top and bottom PCBs creating a direct connection to the sounds of the tact switches. The two 3.5mm jacks can be used as either ins or outs. One is a momentary out and one is always on. The momentary output allows you to hear only the depressed click sound of the tact switches while the always on output allows you to hear both the depress and release of the tact switches amplified by the two piezos. When you shake the Soundwich you will hear the sound of six washers sliding along machine screws and colliding against the two piezo pickups. Using momentary out while shaking will only allow that sound to escape when disks are compressed. Compressing along the edges will provide different filtering amounts depending on where you press [the 7 stacked lines indicate greatest amount of filtering/attenuation with less and less filtering as your travel counterclockwise till there is nearly zero]. Routing audio or CV through provides a fast and tactile handheld momentary on device.

A simple passive piezo, tact switch and hardware based sound device which can expel audio or accept it.

A piezo pickup with a constant output.

A piezo pickup with a momentary output when disks are depressed in center point.

A piezo pickup with momentary out through 8 different filter amounts when depressing disks along edges (volume is also attenuated).

An exciter for resonators and effects.

A shaker using internal washers to strike the top and bottom piezos.

A shaker with momentary out through 8 different RC filter amounts.

A lo-fi vocal mic when pressed directly against the lips (and/or momentary on when using momentary jack).

A very quiet lo-fi speaker.

A tactile momentary on switch when routing audio through it (in one direction).

A momentary on w/ lowpass filtering and volume attenuation when routing audio through (the reverse direction).

A momentary on plus attenuation of modular signal when routing through the RC filter.

A shaker and clicky trigger source for some modular synthesizer modules without needing an extra boost to modular levels.

When boosted to modular levels, clicks and/or shakes can be used to advance a sequencer for example.

When placed on a hard surface, each side can create different rhythm sounds when tapped.

Notes: Loosely inspired by the brand's classic Wavestation synth, the Wavestate updates the sound with a new approach to Wave Sequencing. Classy sound, powerful modulation and good hands-on performance options.

Supplier's notes:

KORG's legendary Wavestation introduced the world to Wave Sequencing, transforming raw samples into sounds that no-one had ever heard before. The flagship OASYS and KRONOS keyboards developed Wave Sequencing even further, expanding on its unique palette of lush, evolving pads and driving rhythms.

Now, KORG is proud to announce the next step in digital synthesis: the wavestate. Featuring the radically re-imagined Wave Sequencing 2.0, the wavestate delivers astonishing, ever-changing sounds with extensive hands-on control.

Far from a nostalgic reissue, the wavestate is designed from the ground up for a new generation of musicians, producers, and composers, taking cues from sources as diverse as modular synths, groove boxes, and algorithmic composition. The compact form-factor, with 37 full-size keys, transports easily and fits neatly into any stage, studio, or desktop setup.

With the Wavestation, each step of a Wave Sequence had a duration, a sample, and a pitch. This created ear-catching patterns-but the patterns repeated the same way, over and over. What if they could evolve in organic, unexpected ways, instead of just repeating?

Wave Sequencing 2.0 splits apart the timing, the sequence of samples, and the melody, so that each can be manipulated independently. Also added are new characteristics including shapes, gate times, and step sequencer values. Each of these is a "Lane," and each Lane can have a different number of steps and its own start, end, and loop points.

Every time the sequence moves forward, the individual Lanes are combined to create the output. For instance, a sample may be matched with a different duration, pitch, shape, gate length, and step sequence value every time that it plays. You can modulate each Lane's start, end, and loop points separately for every note, using velocity, LFOs, envelopes, Mod Knobs, or other controllers. Each note in a chord can be playing something different!

Lanes can also randomize the step order every time they play, with realtime control over the range of included steps. Finally, individual steps can be randomly skipped, with a modulatable probability from 0 to 100%. The result is organic, ever-changing sounds that respond to your control. The four onboard arpeggiators can interact with Wave Sequences for even more possibilities.

With all of that synthesis power, you might think the wavestate would play only one sound at a time. Not a chance. For even more rich and complex results, layer up to four Programs together in a Performance-each with their own effects and arpeggiator. The Vector Envelope and Joystick mix the individual voices of the four Layers, and can also modulate any other parameters.

Bursting with knobs and controllers, the wavestate invites you to explore. All of the basics-filter, envelopes, LFOs, effects-are at your fingertips with dedicated front-panel controls. Eight programmable Mod Knobs are customized to bring out the most in every sound, often taking them in entirely new directions. Use the knobs in realtime performance, and also save the results as new sounds. Add in the Pitch Bend and Modulation Wheels and the unique Vector Joystick, and you'll always have multiple dimensions of realtime expression.

Want to dig deeper? Almost all front-panel knobs, and most on-screen parameters, can be modulated. You can even modulate settings for individual Wave Sequence Steps! Mod Processors let you transform modulation signals using quantization, smoothing, curvature, and more.

Looking for even more inspiration? A dedicated front-panel button, marked by a "dice" icon, generates new sounds via intelligent randomization. Randomize the entire sound or just a part of it, such as the filter, the Sample Lane, or the effects. Use the results directly, or as a jumping-off point for your own creations.

The wavestate's superb effects deliver production-ready sounds. Each Layer has three dedicated effects; additionally, the Performance has a master reverb and parametric EQ. Along with standards such as compressors, EQs, choruses, flangers, phasers, and stereo delays, you'll find distinctive processors such as the Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Mod Delay, and Overb (from the OASYS), plus modeled effects including VOX guitar amps, VOX wah, multi-head tape echo, and a collection of classic guitar pedals.

Set Lists offer effortless organization of your wavestate Performances, and deliver instant access at the gig or in rehearsal. Smooth Sound Transitions allow previously-played voices and effects to continue to ring out naturally, even once a new sound has been selected.

A sonic evolution

Wavestate SE is the powerful evolution of Korg's legendary Wavestation, taking Wave Sequencing to a new level. Designed in California and built in Japan, Wavestate SE includes a premium 61-note keyboard with aftertouch, in an all-metal chassis. Built for a new era of musicians, composers, and producers, Wavestate SE features hundreds of dynamic sounds, extensive hands-on control and 120 notes (stereo) of polyphony to inspire new levels of creativity.

Premium, expressive touch

Featuring a 61-key natural-touch keyboard, Wavestate SE feels incredible to play. The inclusion of aftertouch gives fingertip control of the unique constantly changing sound. All factory presets have been meticulously programmed to take full advantage of this expressive control.

Beauty meets brawn

Wavestate SE's all-metal design is as hard-wearing as it is beautiful - with a matte-black aluminium panel complimented perfectly by glossblack stainless-steel sides. The premium finish continues to the controls themselves, where metal-plated knobs are perfectly weighted and add a luxurious touch.

Easily expressive. Exceptionally deep.

The Wavestate SE puts filters, envelopes, LFOs, effects and more at your fingertips with dedicated front-panel controls. Eight programmable Mod knobs are customised to bring out the most in every sound, for real-time performance and also when saving results as new patches. Pitch bend and modulation wheels, and the unique Vector Joystick, give you instant access to multiple dimensions of real-time expression. Mod Processors let you transform modulation signals using quantization, smoothing, curvature, and more.

Gigabytes of samples

Totalling in the gigabytes, Wavestate SE's sample library is vast. At a thousand times larger than that of the original Wavestation, the amount of great-sounding raw material for Wave Sequences is astounding.

Three of the key sound designers from the original Wavestation, John Bowen, John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl (Plugin Guru), and Peter "Ski" Schwartz, joined Belgian artist Airwave and the renowned Korg voicing team to create the incredible Wavestate SE sound library.

Powerful effects

An arsenal of superb effects ensures Wavestate SE delivers production-ready sounds. Each performance has a master reverb and parametric EQ while each layer has three dedicated effects. Alongside compressors, EQs, choruses, flangers, phasers, and stereo delays, you'll find distinctive processors such as the Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Mod Delay, and Overb, plus modelled effects including Vox guitar amps and wah pedal, multi-head tape echo, and a collection of other classic guitar pedals.

Multiply by four

Take all that power, and quadruple it! You can layer up to four Programs together in a Performance-each with their own effects and arpeggiator. The Vector Envelope and Joystick mix the individual voices of the four layers, and can also modulate any other parameters. This sheer sonic power is further enhanced with 120 notes (stereo) of polyphony. Set Lists offer effortless organisation of your Performances, and deliver instant access at the gig or in rehearsal. And thanks to Smooth Sound Transitions, previously-played voices and effects continue to ring out naturally, even when a new sound has been selected.

Deep connectivity

Connect to recording or monitoring systems with balanced stereo outputs, and a stereo headphone output is provided for private playing or onstage cueing. Din-style MIDI jacks ensure connection to other MIDI-equipped instruments and audio gear. The Wavestate SE supports class-compliant USB MIDI connections to Windows and Mac computers, and the Wavestate SE Editor/Librarian and Sample Builder programs are available as free downloads from Korg.

96-voice polyphonic wave sequencing desktop synthesiser
Notes: A new modular model that makes a big difference in the music production environment.

Introducing the Wavestate module - all of the features of the Wavestate mkII in a compact 19" desktop/rackmount package.

In 2020, the acclaimed Wavestate brought KORG's Wave Sequencing to the next level. Featuring the radically re-imagined Wave Sequencing 2.0, the Wavestate delivers astonishing, ever-changing sounds with extensive hands-on control. Far from a nostalgic reissue, the Wavestate was designed from the ground up for a new generation of musicians, producers, and composers, taking cues from sources as diverse as modular synths, groove boxes, and algorithmic composition.

120 voices of polyphony, updated LFOs, and more

Taking full advantage of both a new enclosure design and new processing hardware, the Wavestate module provides an impressive 120 stereo voices of polyphony. The new 4U rack-mount enclosure has the same controls as the keyboard models, yet is easily transportable and fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system.

Responding to user requests, we've also updated all LFOs with options for free running, delayed start, and retriggering, added new modulation sources, and more. A software update will also be available for the original Wavestate.

The Wavestate module is fully compatible with the sounds and samples of the original Wavestate, Wavestate mk II, Wavestate SE, and Wavestate native software, as well as many excellent third-party libraries.

MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange and Polyphonic Aftertouch support

With the latest software updates, all models of Wavestate, hardware and software, now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange. Hundreds of the original factory sounds have been updated to include Polyphonic Aftertouch modulation (Channel Aftertouch is supported as well). All of this makes the Wavestate module an excellent companion to KORG's Keystage controller.

Rack-Mount and Desktop

The Wavestate module is cleverly designed for both desktop and rack-mount use. The panel is redesigned to fit into a standard 19" width, and the rear jack panel is recessed to allow easy access to cables even with gear mounted directly above. With desktop setups, brackets offer a choice of panel angles: flatter for performing standing up, or more upright for working while seated in your studio.

Many musicians have requested a module version of the wavestate. Now that components are once again available after a long period of supply-chain disruption, KORG is pleased to make that request a reality.

Korg Volca Nubass Vacuum Tube Analogue Bass Synthesiser Korg Volca Nubass Vacuum Tube Analogue Bass Synthesiser
Cat: 732455 Rel: 23 Sep 19

Analogue bass synthesiser
Notes: Valves meet Volca. The original Volca Bass design gets twisted with the addition of Korg's Nutube technology for gritty saturation. 303-style acid with a filthy attitude.

Supplier notes:
Even today, when digital technology allows electronic musical instruments to simulate any sound imaginable, people seek the warm harmonics and distortion produced by analogue vacuum tubes. This distinctive sound has a quality beyond words that sets it apart, and cannot be captured by a response curve; it's the unmistakable sound of tubes.

The Volca Nubass is the first analogue synth to be equipped with a Nutube new-generation vacuum tube in its oscillator. Vacuum tube plus analogue means that the sound is warm, thick, and rich. The familiar transistor ladder filter gives it the character of a classic bass machine, along with overdrive, and huge-sounding distortion.

An acid bass machine for a new generation combines classic sound with the power of modern synthesizer design. It's the Volca Nubass.

A vacuum tube oscillator circuit forms the heart of Volca Nubass, utilizing groundbreaking Nutube technology:

The Nutube is equipped with two vacuum tubes; one is used in the oscillator to generate a sawtooth wave or square wave. The other vacuum tube is used in the drive circuit of the sub oscillator, adding depth and warmth one octave below the oscillator. This oscillator and sub oscillator provide a circuit structure that brings out the harmonic character that only a real vacuum tube could provide.

A transistor ladder low-pass filter that produces a distinctive sound:

The low-pass filter defines the sound of this bass machine; it uses a transistor ladder design found on classic analogue bass synths. This filter is uniquely dynamic in the way it affects a sound more than just ranging from bright-to-dark. Its wide range of timbral possibilities makes it ideal for a broad variety of dance music; you can use it to create the distinctive modulation that can be heard in acid house, or increase the resonance to bring out a sharp character that's appropriate for techno.

Analogue driver circuit:

Nubass is equipped with overdrive that uses an analogue circuit reminiscent of a classic stompbox. Turning the knob toward the right compresses the volume while causing mild distortion, adding thickness to your bass sounds. The tone knob also lets you adjust the crispness of the high-frequency range.

A 16-step sequencer that lets you automate parameters:

The Volca Nubass is equipped with a full-fledged 16-step sequencer with a variety of functionality; by using it in conjunction with a rhythm machine, you can construct rhythm tracks or loop music.

You can use the 16 buttons for step input just like the rest of the Volca series, or play the buttons as a keyboard for realtime recording. The chain function lets you play back multiple sequence patterns in succession, allowing you to loop up to 16 sequences.

Three functions to create grooves on Volca Nubass:

The sequencer of the Volca Nubass provides three functions that add the slap and slide performance techniques that are distinctive of acid bass: these transpose, accent, and slide functions are accessible and controllable through the step sequencer.

Transpose is a function that plays a note one or two octaves higher; it adds movement to the bass line while staying within the original scale. Accent emphasizes a note, creating dynamics that make the rhythm expressive. And the slide function that's indispensable to acid sound creates a smooth transition to the next note. Use these functions to add a sense of groove, and Volca Nubass will come alive in your performances and compositions.

Free bundle of music software:

The Volca Nubass comes with a diverse variety of music software from Izotope including "Ozone Elements" which lets you not only create songs but also master them using AI, "Skoove" which will help you improve your keyboard playing skills, "Reason Lite" DAW software, as well as software synths from KORG and other brands.

Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser Korg Volca Modular Micro Modular Synthesiser
Cat: 715950 Rel: 18 Feb 19

Compact patch-based synth, ideal for beginners
Notes: Buchla-inspired modular business in Korg's small and affordable Volca range. Amazingly creative and experimental synth power in a tiny little box. Highly recommended.

Supplier's notes:
A semi-modular analogue synthesizer that makes modular synthesis more accessible and understandable than ever before.
Creating new sounds that don't exist in the outside world is an unending dream which has continued since the birth of electronic musical instruments. This dream has evolved and expanded throughout the development of new and unique music production devices.

The popularity of modular synthesizers around the world has generated new excitement and interest in the so-called "West Coast style" of synthesis that deviates from traditional synthesis norms.
The compact body of this volca synth features eight modules and 50 patch points. While learning the basics of a modular synth, you can use popular features of the volca synthesizer line to control a unique and different flavour of analogue sounds.

Eight modules:
The volca modular is a semi-modular synthesizer consisting of independent analogue synth modules, digital effects, and a sequencer. Each of the modules has been carefully selected for its stand-alone completeness. The modules are internally connected so that sound can be produced even before connecting the included pin cables, and the routing is shown by white lines on the panel. Module connections via a pin cable take priority over the internal connections, bypassing them.

A fusion of West Coast style in a volca format:
Analog synthesizers in which a simple oscillator such as a saw wave or square wave is modified by a filter are referred to as "East Coast style" because of their origin from well-known American manufacturers. Synths of this style, as exemplified by the MS-20, have continued to evolve toward a goal of being used in many mainstream musical genres, thus being equipped with a keyboard for performance. Their sounds are notable for sharp filters and rich presence, and can be heard in many well-known songs.

Patching allows infinite possibilities:
volca modular's modules are connected via the included pin cables, allowing a diverse range of combinations. The unit's compact chassis provides 50 patch points. Inputs and outputs are color-coded for recognition at a glance, and the signals are also marked by symbols to indicate audio, control, gate or trigger. Normally, each signal is connected according to its use, but on the volca modular, signal levels are universally compatible between modules, allowing hidden possibilities to arise from patching that defies common sense. Twenty pin cables are included, and also included is a reference sheet explaining each patch point and providing basic examples of patching.

Sixteen-step sequencer that can automate parameters:
While the volca modular is a semi-modular synth, it is equipped with a full-fledged 16-step sequencer providing a wide range of functions, letting you enjoy automatic performance even when used stand-alone.

Using the 16 buttons familiar from the volca series, you can perform step input or use the buttons as a keyboard for realtime recording. The pattern chaining function plays back multiple sequence patterns in succession, allowing you to connect up to 16 sequences with up to 32, 64, or even 256 steps to create large-scale development.

Randomize function that can generate accidental ideas:
The sequencer of the volca modular lets you specify randomization for notes, active steps, and micro tuning. Irregular phrases, rhythms, and scaling that would be unlikely to come to mind can be generated by applying randomness, letting the volca be a source of unknown ideas.

Two new modes added for sequence playback:
Two new sequence modes have been added: bounce sequence mode which makes a round trip through the steps, and stochastic sequence mode which gradually proceeds while randomly moving forward and backward. Playing back a recorded sequence in a different form can add dramatic changes to your song or performance.

Musically advanced scales, keys, and micro tuning:
Although the volca modular is a West Coast style synthesizer, it also provides flexible support for music as a contemporary instrument. You can choose from 14 types of scale including equal temperament. Since you can also specify the tonic key from which these scales start, you can play these scales in any key.

Connectors that allow synchronized performance and external control:
With a sync jack that allows easy connection to a Korg groove machine, you can connect the volca modular to another volca series unit, a minilogue, monologue, or prologue, an electribe, or the SQ-1, and enjoy sessions with the sequencer synchronized to the playback.

The Korg Volca Keys is an ideal introductory synthesizer, with a simple, yet powerful polyphonic analog sound engine and loop sequencer.

The Volca Keys is a long awaited synthesizer that adds a new chapter to the long and storied history of Korg's analog synthesizers. This 27 key analog lead synth delivers unbelievably powerful sound in a compact body. Starting with a filter section that uses the circuitry of the legendary miniKORG700S (1974), it delivers astonishing sound that takes full advantage of Korg's half-century of know-how in circuit design.

With a simple structure that includes delay effect and a sequencer, it's also an ideal choice for a first analog synth. It offers the richly expressive sounds that are distinctive of analog, providing the enjoyment of simple yet deep sound-creation. The possibilities are endless; you can use the three oscillators to play chords, use them in unison with detune to produce solid lead lines, or apply ring modulation to create far-out metallic sounds.

The Voicing function makes it easy to specify how the three oscillators will be combined. Choose between poly, unison, octave, fifth, unison ring or poly ring simply by turning a dial. Easy for those taking thier first steps into synthesisers, the Volca's simple design makes it easy to obtain a wide variety of sounds.

Record phrases as you play them with the Volca Keys using the loop sequencer. With up to 16 steps, it's easy to create phrases as they come to mind.
