Review: Constant Sound co-owner James 'Burnski' Burnham delivers a stonking pair of garage-flecked house tracks that offer up no nonsense dancefloor attitude in spades. 'Shout' is all about its monster rhythmic framework, with economic splashes of synths on the side simply maintaining the flavour and a properly full on old skool breakdown. Flip track 'Remember' leans a little further towards UK garage with its sugar sweet female vocal snippets, but the central groove hustles and bustles along with maximum weightiness, making it suitable for any number of differing dancefloors.

Review: CWPT will play home to Palms Trax's original productions. His latest offering is 'Petu', a new single featuring South African vocalist, Nonku Phiri. Originally debuting in dub form (featured for your convenience over on the flip) during his appearance on The Music Locker as part of Grand Theft Auto Online, it is an absolutely emotive number reaching near spiritual moments and complemented by Phiris' wonderful vocal. Masalos' remix takes the track into neon-lit disco territory and is equally worthy of your attention.

Review: On-point Japanese producer Takuya Matsumoto returns to Clone's Jack For Daze label with a follow-up to his brilliantly executed 85-88 EP. He's not discovered a shoe-box of DATs under the bed, but rather is purposefully paying tribute to the early days of house and techno with specific explorations of particular eras and their attendant sounds. This time around we're taken to the early 90s, with some wonderful, varied results. There's lush, FM-embellished deep house on '01 90' and edgy, jackin' techno wormholes opening up on '02 91'. Meanwhile '03 92' retains a healthy bounce and some lush washes of synth, and '04 93' tips towards the kind of garage house you'd find on a Strictly Rhythm record 30 years ago. Crucially, it's all shot through with tonnes more personality than most 90s soundalike records, so full credit to Matsumoto for spelling his intentions out and delivering the goods.

Review: Twoslice draws heavily on New York garage house and speed garage on what is ostensibly a 'tech house' EP - 'Miss Manhattan'. The French producer drops it here as his debut for his local pushers House Puff, which is a fitting name, as they must be puffing out their chests at this one. Ultimate slappage is achieved through 'Slice's careful, precision command over snappy transients and rapid-fire syncope, with the track 'Nano' in particular doubling down on the fact that Twoslice is skilled, and knows it.

Review: Eccentric drummer and project leader Ziggy Zeitgeist helms the Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, an ultra-versatile jazz band hailing from Berlin - he's also an integral part of the band 30/70. While major jazz freakouts of the improvisatory kind are ZZFX's usual penchant, especially on their albums, the new 'Kreuzberg Kix' EP series is far more focused on laying down danceable house and broken beaty cuts to wax. This one's got three tracks of deep and atmospheric house, with the B-siders moving off into the world of collaboration, with vocalist Wayne Snow appearing on the B for a soul-inflected groover, plus a remix from fresh New York talent Jenifa Mayanja. A more functional curveball for ZZFX, proving they're not limited to just sonic spectacle, and occasionally like to bask in mood-setting too.

Review: Dutchman Tom Trago has somehow been away from what was once his home label for a full decade now. He makes a welcome return like a long-lost son on new album Deco, a superbly accomplished record that takes its name from a sauna he frequented when he needed to decompress. Eventually, he put his musical career on hold and went to speed time with his young family and so this album was recorded after a long time away from club dance floors. It is delightfully whimsical with airy melodies, curious chords and majestic synth craft all drifting over barely-there rhythms. It's an album that provided musical therapy for Trago, and now us.

Review: More 'different strokes for house folks' as the Faith crew returns to wax, this time with a swathe of new revisions of classic cuts. On the A-side you get two fresh takes on 90s anthems by Farley and Heller's Roach Motel project: a joyously bouncy, peak-time ready dance through the pair's 1993 gem 'Movin On' courtesy of Darius Syrossian, and a chunky, restless and subtly pitched-down Harry Romero rework of the pair's infamous mid-90s tribute to DJ Pierre, 'Wild Luv' (wild pitch, I think I love you). Over on the B it's all about Cevin Fisher's turn-of-the-millennium workout 'Love You Some More'. Harry Romero channels the spirit of Twilo on a dense, big-room ready early morning tweak, before Fisher himself delivers a low-slung take propelled forwards by a massive bassline. Sweat-soaked goodness all told!

Review: Now that Heist Recordings is 10 years old, label bosses Dam Swindle have decided the time is right to launch a new series of EPs featuring big tunes and sought-after classics from the imprint's archive. Review: DJ and producer Mark Grusane is a hails from Chicago and is co-owner of Mr. Peabody Records, which specialises in rare and obscure vinyl from around the world. While many prior releases have appeared due to that affiliation, 'Book Me For Your Birthday Party' hears the cream of his music released for German label Bless You. Four raw, sexual, jacking, jukey house music cuts appear, showing off the kind of production antics Grusane gets up to while enjoying his off hours at the record store. While they're at least ten years old, we're sure Grusane still has access to the same inner clown that not only allows him to be such a great party guest, but also lets him make such heaters.

Review: Curveball creator Moscoman has been bringing new influences to electronic music for years now, as has his Disco Halal label. It is there he returns with new EP Rob The Plants and four tracks of intense and steamy house and techno with his signature synth twist. There is a pulsing bass energy to the opener 'Bouabre' which is wried up with freaky vocals, then the title track gets playful with psyched-out cosmic leads and tight, bouncy bass and beats. 'Can You Dig It' is tripped out and leftfield techno-wonk before the more zoned out and late night dubby 'Nishar Levad'.

Review: When it featured in its original mix form on Omar-S's Pain EP, 'I Love Your Girlfriend' was something of a blink-and-you-miss-it gem: a two-minute fusion of piano-powered balladry, seductive soul vocals (provided by guest singer John FM) and sparse, occasional house beats. It was crying out for an extended mix, and the Detroit legend has duly delivered. Now five minutes in length, with more prominent drums, extensive use of P-funk style synth squiggles and auto-tune effects, the mix effectively re-imagines the track as a fluid, soulful, piano solo-laden club track that's as classy as it is tasty.

Review: It has been a bit of a while since we heard from edit king and seductive groove maker Late Nite Tuff Guy. Thankfully now he is back after his hiatus with more of his brilliance in the form of a third entry into his Soul Cut series. He brings his magic fingers to a pair of dazzlers here, with a hearrt-wrenching version of a latter yaers Motown anthem, with a modern update that leaves the original vocals in place but adds a little more drum weight. Review: Vienna native Lee Stevens returns to Luv Shack Records for his first solo EP since 2012's 'LUV001', in the meantime exploring a more relaxed sound under his Rising Seed moniker. The opening track 'Right On' creates a sonic universe where Ennio Morricone and John Carpenter have joined forces to make synth-heavy dance music. 'Maskaron' sounds like a full homage to new wave and the obscure side of Italo disco, topped with chanting reminiscent of 1970s western movies. On 'Trippin' On Your Love', Stevens taps into proto-house and synth-dance, complete with arp bass and occasional breakbeats. Track number four, 'Ju Know' features Stevens and long-time collaborator Simonlebon in a moody jam, fit with heavy low-end synths, bittersweet vocal samples, and 80s pop-style piano chords. Finally, the closing track 'Destruction' features tight 808 drums accompanying a dark bassline and eerie vocals, with uplifting synth chords reminding us there is still hope.

Review: If you're someone who craves a little underground mystique and some grit and grain in their deep tech house, you might well want to check the latest transmission from the shadowy oge collective. On the A-side, 'Contemporanea Mente' gets into a tricky, blippy strain of minimal tech house which opens up beautifully once the classic chords come drifting into the mix. 'Mazzone' summons a vintage early 90s flavour, but there's an inherent weirdness to the processing and sampling which makes this a cut above the average garage house revival joint. 'Mouse Liar' opens up the B-side with a boxy strain of electro steeped in starry-eyed synthesis, which Anania promptly twists up into mystical tripper par excellence.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Jade Seatle met Jane Fitz at tech-house haven Kerfuffle in Brixton around 2005 or 06 (they don't remember). They bonded that day over records, and a strange story about a pebble. Disillusioned with parties in London, rather than moan, Jade and Jane decided to make their own. Night Moves was born in 2012, after they visited Jenifa Mayanja in Connecticut in summer 2011 and promised her a party to play in London. What then evolved was a journey in music, gatherings and friendship - and a lesson in how a community can evolve from a dancefloor. Night Moves spawned Day Moves, Field Moves, a B2B partnership, and many ridiculous parties in a range of wonderful locations. The records on this release not only represent the sound of Night Moves - all are tried-and-tested NM greatest hits - but also the sound that brought Jade and Jane together, and informed what they do now, where they've been and where they are still to go. Review: Mira Lo has been making waves in her native France for some time, with a trademark production style that effortlessly blurs the boundaries between squelchy, synth-heavy nu-disco, deep house and the classy end of 21st century synth-pop (think Junior Boys). There's plenty to admire on her first EP for Pont Neuf. Check first the house tempo synth-pop deepness of 'Sparks', before immersing yourself in the pitched-up beats, mid-80s video game melodies and slipped r&b vocals of 'Away From You'. Review: Along with the more jazz-funk-and-disco influenced Boogie Cafe Records in Bristol, the EVM128 and James Rudie-helmed Dance Regular is leading the charge for a new wave of hybrid deep house/broken beat productions. The label's latest missive, which comes courtesy of the simply named Trev, emphasises the imprint's chosen musical direction. Title track 'Nightjar' sets the tone, with ultra-deep riffs, hazy chords and gently jazzy synth fills dancing atop a weighty bassline and relaxed broken beats. 'Late Flip' is even more sub-heavy and Latin-tinged, whilst retaining the jazz-funk flourishes and West London style bruk-up beats, while 'Beijo' is a subtly dancehall-influenced hip-hop jam. Closing cut 'Grey', meanwhile, is an altogether more colourful cut than the title suggests, with sparkling synth sounds, positive-sounding melodies and squelchy bass aplenty.

Review: German artist Damiano Von Erckert has matured into a fine producer with a unique sound. He's dropped it on his own label, Aus Music and now comes through with a full-length on Live At Robert Johnson. As always it is a cross-genre mix with a dusty vibe and big heart. '3PIANOS' kicks off with expressive vocal samples and florid flutes ready for a summer dance, while a Pepe Braddock mix brings some signature weirdness from the Frenchman. Review: Released last summer, Cosmonection's debut album, Hidden Places, was a gorgeously sunny affair that blended organic deep house grooves with bags of Balearic intent. As you'd expect, this remix EP is more obviously club-centric in tone, though the music on show remains pleasingly picturesque. Lis Sarocca gets things going with a deliciously breezy, piano-sporting Mediterranean house take on 'Morning Dew', before Marc Brauner delivers a sumptuously starry, rolling revision of 'Clouds' that doffs a cap to both Italian dream house and chunkier, more bass-heavy U.S deep house flavours. Review: Revelation was a short-lived New York City-based house pairing that should not be confused with the 70s soul and disco group. They crafted just three EPs and the Atmosphere label is reissuing them having started with 'First power' back in January. Chapter 2 features four more brilliantly futuristic techno cuts, with 'Odyssey' going first. It's got bubbling synth lines and steely, shimmering drums with a high-tech soul feel. 'Arrival' then has more gurgling cosmic waves and clanking hits looping back and forth before 'Resurgan' explores a floating gore that glides through the cosmos with serene pad work for company. 'Masochist Trip' closes with some crisp breakbeats.

Review: When Superpitcher unveiled the King So So project on Hippie Dance in 2015 (initially anonymously), only a handful of the 10 'version excursions' were released on wax, with the rest only appearing digitally. Mule Musiq has decided to set the record straight, presenting the full suite of tracks on vinyl for the very first time.
