Review: There's a reason that it's taken a while for Jazzman to deliver the third volume in the popular Jukebox Mambo series: curator DJ Liam Large has been digging extra-deep for inspiration. It's certainly paid off, though, because this could well be the best volume in the series to date. As with previous instalments, it's packed full of obscure, little-known American rhythm and blues records that are in some way inspired by Latin music (in particular Rumba and Mambo). This limited edition version stretches 28 heavyweight tracks across six 10" singles, all housed in a custom book. While the packaging is unique and naturally superb, it is of course the consistent quality of the music that resonates.

Review: DJ Koze's music is very much suited to the album format. Although his last effort through this medium was back in 2013, his explorative nature and wide-eyed, improvisational style are simply made to branch out into areas outside of the more predictable house and techno formats. Knock Knock comes through on his own Pampa label, with its seventeen tracks all providing us with something different and wonderful, from slo-mo r&b sounds to funky, wayward house music that is most certainly at the 'outside' of the house spectrum. There are plenty of special guests, too, including Mano Le Tough, Sophia Kennedy, and many other relevant talents. A Koze speciality.

Review: Rebolledo's brilliant 2016 album Mondo Alterado gets the remix treatment, with an impressive selection of production talents taking it in turns to tweak the Mexican's work. There's much to admire throughout, with highlights including a thrusting, low-slung and trippy revision by Maceo Plex, a deliciously woozy and loved-up interpretation from Superpitcher (think Balearic-meets-post-punk-meets-Teutonic tech-house), a thrillingly percussive take on "Pow Wow Wow" by occasional Optimo Music sorts The Fantastic Twins, and a pair of next-level rubs from Mike Simonetti, whose acid-flecked "Discotico Simonettico En Panico" version could well be the best of the bunch. Throw in a smattering of typically heavy and eccentric Rebolledo originals, and you have an essential, floor-friendly selection.

Stones Throw have done us the courtesy of bringing together THE BEST material from the man into an eight-sided LP monster containing a 20 page booklet to boot. Within, you have the best material from albums like On The Nile, One Track Mind, 1984. Review: This epic debut album from Steve Summers, Beau Wanzer and Melvin Oliphant's Mutant Beat Dance project has been a long time in the making. In fact, they started working on the music - and accompanying booklet of photgraphs - three years ago. Like their previous work, it's a conscious effort to update the anything-goes spirit of Chicago's legendary Music Box club in the early 1980s, where resident DJ Ron Hardy regularly blurred the boundaries between post punk, dub disco, industrial, minimal wave, EBM and proto-house. Review: For Record Store Day 2018, UK downbeat legends Zero 7 present an exclusive collectors box set. The package contains seven 7"s, containing 14 tracks picked by Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker themselves. Featuring their acclaimed collaborations with Sia, Sophie Barker, Mozez, Jose Gonzalez and Martha Tilston among others. This is the first time some of these tracks have been made available on such format. Four tracks are taken from 2001's Simple Things LP, a further three are taken from their 2004 album When It Falls, four from The Garden (2006) and the final two come from the 2009 album Yeah Ghost. Artwork is by the band's original design collaborator (Julian House) and the sleeves are colour coded - placed into a cruciform overwrap sleeve with heavyweight vinyl.

Review: Remarkably, two decades have now passed since the release of Endtroducing, DJ Shadow's peerless debut album. In way of celebration, Island has put together this expansive, six-disc "Endtrospective" edition. The original album - an atmospheric and hugely entertaining exploration of trip-hop, break-digging and the potential of sampling - still sounds unfeasibly brilliant all these years on. It's joined by two discs of bonus material; a first, containing previously released demos and live versions, and a second with all-new remixes from contemporary producers. There's plenty to get the pulse racing here, including a John Carpenter-influenced ambient rework of "Transmissions" by Kuedo, DJ Spinn's footwork-goes-jazz remix of "What Does Your Soul Look Like", and a sparkling Hudson Mohawke version of "Midnight In A Perfect World".

Review: Here's something to get the juices flowing: a six-vinyl box set containing a wealth of new and previously unreleased material from some of the most revered names in electronic music. Given the names on show - think Speedy J, Spacetime Continuum, Future Sound of London, B12, Scanner, Move D and Meat Beat Manifesto, for starters - it was clearly inspired by the 'intelligent techno' movement of the early-to-mid '90s. Naturally, that sort of intergalactic gear dominates throughout, alongside inspired trips into the worlds of spacey drum & bass, dub techno, ambient and Motor City futurism. The quality threshold is high throughout, helped by the fact that some of the material on show has lay dormant on DAT tapes since the 1990s.

Review: If you're looking for someone to chronicle the seamier side of British musical history, or a curatorial force with insights into its more dusty and unchartered areas, no-one is better qualified than Saint Etienne boffins Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs, and they've excelled themselves here, delivering a beautifully chosen and endlessly evocative selection of songs from an era often overlooked by the reductive forces of retro culture - a disenfranchised but rich zone in the early seventies after psychedelia, when although the '60s dream had faded slightly the atmosphere of melancholy and hope alike made for unclassifiable and evergreen music. Not quite prog, not quite psych, the likes of T2, Aardvark, Matching Mole and Van Der Graaf Generator were harbingers of a lost spirit that makes for endlessly rewarding listening here, sitting proudly alongside better known figures like Daevid Allen and John Cale on a strange time capsule to be cherished.

Review: Takeshi Fuji's legendary Three Blind Mice imprint is what Blue Note is to the USA, a legendary and often referenced jazz label which has provided inspiration to countless contemporary artists. The 70s recordings are the label's pride and joy, often going for silly prices on the second-hand market; after all, they were all engineered by the mythical swing of Yoshihiko Kannari, and featured some of the best artwork seen across the spectrum. The Famous Sound Of Three Blind Mice is a compilation which surfaced in the 1980s, acting as an anthology of the label's best and most influential work. Of note, this has only been out on CD until now, so this this vinyl reissue from Impex will no doubt fly off our shelves pretty sharpish. Forget the price, that's nothing compared to what you'll pay for it in a few years. Act fast.

Review: Upon his death in 1996, many within the jazz community heaped fulsome praise on Shoji Yokouchi. To this day, he remains one of Japan's finest jazz guitarists; a dexterous and inventive guitarist capable of playing immaculate, blues-inspired solos on both electric and acoustic guitars. Proof of his skills is provided by this reissue of Greensleeves, an album he recorded in 1978 alongside his regular "Trio" and organist Yuri Tashiro. Musically, the album offers an attractive blend of jazz-funk, "trad" and fusion tracks laden with impeccable solos from both Yokouchi and Tashiro. The best combination of the two players' styles can be found on "Misty", a fine blend of undulating fairground organ flourishes and evocative Spanish guitar.

A few years back, he brought the Originals series of Balearic compilations to a close with a fine box set. Now, to celebrate the 10th birthday of his Claremont 56 label, he's put together another lavishly produced, five-vinyl set, this time made up of brand new or previously unheard material. As you'd expect, highlights come thick and fast, from the dubbed-out quirkiness of Holgar Czukay's "Music To Be Murdered By" and the rubbery electrofunk of Phil Mison's remix of FreshRo's "Pacific State", to the samba-boogie of Jex Opolis's remix of Paraiso, and deep space Balearic bliss of Leo Cecranti's "Andromeda Bound". Throw in killer reworks from Lexx, Bjorn Torske, Ron Trent, Larry Heard, Emperor Machine, and Murphy himself, and you have an essential collection.

Review: Waxwork mark the 35th anniversary of John Carpenter's cult movie The Thing in true style. One of the first films Carpenter didn't score himself, he recruited one of the only composers who could fill his shoes... The truly legendary Ennio Morricone. Minimal, orchestral and sprung with all the necessary tension, suspense and thrill, it was the perfect complement to Carpenter's dark canvas. But then you knew that anyway. A luxury package with book, coloured vinyl and poster this is an incredible document for serious collectors.
