Made and released way back in 1958, Somethin' Else is a classic jazz album by the American alto saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, notably his only ever album for the esteemed Blue Note label. It famously hears Adderley enlist the help of trumpeter Miles Davis as one of its sidemen, and this was an ongoing relationship that later paved the way for popular jazz as a whole; without Somethin' Else, we wouldn't have Kind Of Blue, for which Adderley would contribute his sax playing just a year later. Though it is a testament to the unity of two great core musicians, we also hear the piano stylings of Hank Jones, bassist Sam Jones and drummer Art Blakey.

The speaker unit contains a bio-cellulose diaphragm made from bacterial cellulose, an organic compound grown using certain types of bacteria. The precision-grown diaphragm from bio-cellulose is stiffer, lighter, and stronger than regular PET speaker units, allowing the sound-producing diaphragm to vibrate without the levels of distortion found in other speakers.

Each of these qualities results in more accurate and detailed sound from the speaker with the ability to retain clarity of sound at high volumes.

With a minimal and lightweight construction of only 190g, the TMA-2 Studio XE is ideal for the flexible, versatile and dynamic workflow of modern music makers.

Expander module - 10HP
Notes: Expandoor

The Expandoor gets you quickly and simply using AMP's Melody Oracle, Star Song, or Touch Tones (as well as other possible future devices) as a CV and Gate controller. It outputs Eurorack-compatible CV and GATE signals, transforming your AMP device into a versatile and novel modular synth sequencer or controller. The Expandoor can be used as a standalone tabletop box, or mounted in a 3U 10HP rack space.

Three independent GATE outputs:

Just as the three "Register" zones on your AMP device gate the audio for the three octaves of the built-in synthesizer, there are three corresponding gate outputs on the Expandoor. The 1/8" jacks labelled "BS" "LH" and "RH" output ~11V DC gate signals whenever those zones are gating "ON" on your AMP device.

CV output, tuners and LED indicators:

The jack labelled "CV" outputs a tuned set of CV values (0-11V), tuned independently but correspondingly, to the set of tuners on your AMP device. The row of multi-turn tuners on the front panel allow fine tuning of each CV state. One tuner is active at a time, depending on the state of the "INTERVAL" zones on your AMP device. The active tuner is conveniently indicated in real time via lights found to the right of the tuners. The indicator lights serve a second function of showing you which tuner on the controlling AMP device is also active in parallel.

AMP LINK jacks

The AMP LINK jack on the bottom left of the front panel (with the arrow pointing IN) connects your controlling AMP device into the EXPANDOOR. Use only shielded CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables and connectors (the correct cables will have metal end connectors). The AMP LINK jack on the right outputs a signal identical to the input, allowing chaining of multiple Expandoors and/or Wave Expanders. Do not plug more than one AMP controlling device into a single Expandoor simultaneously, or damage to the devices could occur.

Each controlling device requires its own Expandoor or Wave Exapnder, but multiple expansion modules can be chained from one controlling device. One potential benefit to chaining expansion modules is the ability to output multiple tuned, corresponding but independent, CV channels. Meaning multiple sets of harmonic values could be tuned and accessed at the command of the single controlling AMP device, or accessed via other modules in your system.

Review: Arther Baker's Dance Masters series continues, as the spotlight turns to another remix legend: one of the originators of the form, John Luongo. Regarded as one of the most influential DJs and mixers of his day, Luongo's many credits include remixes of Jackie Moore's 'This Time Baby', 'Vertigo / Relight My Fire' by Dan Hartman and Patti Labelle's 'Music Is My Way Of Life'. Luongo also went on to establish a production career in his own right, and his legacy is more than cemented here on this retrospective comp from Demon. This box set compiles his most striking tracks in a sixc LP compilation, as well as: a 16-page booklet; an in-depth essay from Alexis Petridis; a foreword by Arthur Baker and a rare photo album from Luongo's personal collection.

Review: Famously first released in 1973 and transferred to CD in the 1980s with no significant remastering, the Beatles two colour-coded 'best of' collections have long been in need of an overhaul. Apple has typically gone all-out on this 50th anniversary re-issue, not only remastering everything (or at least those tracks that hadn't already been tweaked by Giles Martin in recent years), but also expanding each collection to three discs via the addition of other fan favourites and tracks that missed out first time round. As for the vinyl itself, it has been half-speed remastered to guarantee superior sound quality. This boxed edition boasts both compilations, plus an insert with fresh liner notes from music journalist-turned-Guardian scribe John Harris.

What does this module do?

This module is a complete mini synthesizer that specializes in making analog kick drum sounds.

This product does not use a "Twin T" approach to make it's drum kick sound. This is using an actual 1v/octave triangle core VCO, and an OTA based VCA. The shaper circuit that converts a triangle wave into a sine wave was brought to the front panel. The shaper knob was calibrated to start its shaping at the beginning of a sine wave, and end with an overdriven square wave.

This parameter is called 'Timbre'.

This product can produce a wide variety of ultra generic analogue kick drum sounds.

Influenced by the Korg ER-1 drum synthesiszer, but laid out in an analogue fashion.

-toggle switches are connected to 'timing' capacitors. You can select decay legnths on the fly.

-Depth Knobs let ou precisely dial in how much punch, and loudness you want.

-Accent input lets you simulate 'Midi' velocity but with a positive CV input signal. This makes the Amplifier go louder in volume.

This is basically a CV input for the VCA circuit.

-POP parameter creates a clicky sounding, short audible pulse.

All the internal circuitry was optimized for drum kick. You really can't goof up and not make a percussive sound.
All you need is a triggering signal.

With the DD-3T, we've updated the classic stomp with enhanced functionality while fully retaining the original's sound and control layout. It's now possible to tap in delay tempos using the onboard switch or an external one, with your choice of three beat subdivisions. And the direct output jack has been moved next to the main output, providing easier connectivity for wet/dry setups.

In continuous production for over three decades, the DD-3 has been the go-to delay stomp for countless players. Based on the DD-2-the world's first digital delay pedal from 1983-the DD-3 is revered for its warm, round delay tone and simple controls that let you dial in sounds fast. The DD-3T's sound circuitry and controls are identical to the DD-3, delivering every drop of that classic vibe you know and love.

A key addition the DD-3T brings is tap tempo, an essential feature for creating the rhythmic delay effects at the heart of many guitar styles. In delay mode, hold the pedal switch for two seconds to toggle between bypass and tap operation. And for on-demand tap control, simply connect an external footswitch. When the DD-3T receives tap input, up to 800 ms of delay time is available, and the Mode knob sets the tap subdivision (quarter-note triplet, dotted-eighth note, or quarter note).

The DD-3T features a direct output jack like the DD-3, but it's been moved next to the main output jack to make connections easier. Plugging a cable into the direct out converts the main out to delay only, allowing you to send wet and dry signals to different amps for wide, immersive sounds. And if your amp or switcher has a parallel effects loop, just connect a dummy plug to the direct out to mute the dry sound for effect-only blending.

The original DD-3 (and DD-2 before) included a forward-thinking Hold function, which allowed you to capture a sound up to 800 ms long, play it continuously, and jam over the top. Many years later, BOSS further developed this creative concept with the successful Loop Station products, which helped spawn the new musical style of live looping. The DD-3T includes the same Hold function as the DD-3, but it's been renamed "Short Loop" to reflect today's common usage.

The RV-6 makes getting high-quality reverb sounds with your guitar quick and easy- just select a sound mode, tweak the knobs to taste, and play. But while its operation is simple, the RV-6's sound is rich and sophisticated. Under the hood, each mode includes a huge array of detailed reverb parameters, all perfectly tuned for guitar by the BOSS engineers with direct input from many pro players and sound engineers. Even as you adjust the selected mode with the Time and Tone knobs, many parameters are simultaneously adjusted inside to create the ideal voicing for every setting.

Analogue Dry Tone and Versatile I/O

While the RV-6's reverb effects are high-tech digital, you can rest assured that your straight guitar tone always remains pure analogue as the effect is blended in. Convenient auto-switching jacks let you integrate with any pedal chain, with support for mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-stereo operation. And by plugging into the B input only, the RV-6 outputs a 100-percent wet sound, great for working with more complex rigs that employ parallel processing chains and mixers. There's also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play.

Reverb Modes

+DELAY - This is reverb combined with delay. The synergistic effect provides rich reverberation.
SHIMMER- This reverb is distinctive for its sparkling high-frequency range. It produces fantasy-like reverberation wrapped in spacious overtones.
DYNAMIC- This reverb automatically sets the depth of the effect according to your performance. It produces deep reverberation without blurring the overall shape of your playing.
ROOM- This reverb simulates the reverberation of a room. It produces warm reverberation.
HALL- This reverb simulates the reverberation of a hall. It produces clear and spacious reverberation.
PLATE- This simulates a plate reverb (a reverb unit that uses the vibration of a metal plate). It produces metallic-sounding reverberation with an extended high-frequency range.
SPRING- This simulates a spring reverb built into a guitar amp.
MODULATE- This reverb adds modulation to hall reverb, producing extremely good-feeling reverberation.

Shape Your Groove

With the SL-2's efficient interface, you can dial in sophisticated textures in seconds. Use the Attack control to shape the edge of the waveform for everything from hard-chopped slices to soft, fluttering movements. Then tweak the waveform's length with the Duty control, going from sharp, percussive transients to longer, fuller audio blocks. Adjust the tempo with the dedicated knob or hold the pedal switch to engage tap tempo mode for hands-free control. And with the Balance knob and +/-12 dB of output level adjustment, you always have complete control of the mix.


Set the Stage

The SL-2 dishes up loads of impressive sounds with a standard mono setup. But things get even better when using the two outputs and seven different output modes. Send direct and effect sounds to different destinations for recording and performance. Or surround yourself and listeners in animated movement using a variety of stereo and 3D processing options. You can also feed the SL-2 with your favourite stereo pedals to bring further magic to your grooves.


Stereo Output Modes:

Fixed (Default)-Sends the same direct/effect mix to both outputs.
EFX/Direct-Sends the effect sound to Output A and the direct sound to Output B.
Random-A stereo effect that randomly outputs the Slicer sound to the left, right, or center.
Ping-Pong-A stereo effect that alternately sends the Slicer sound to Output A or Output B.
Auto-A stereo effect that smoothly pans the Slicer sound between Output A and Output B.
3D Cross-Advanced spatial processing moves the Slicer sound in left/right and forward/back patterns in 3D space.
3D Rotation-Advanced spatial processing rotates the Slicer sound in 3D space.


Expand Your Creative Flow

With its generous external control options, the SL-2 flows with your creative needs. Plug in an external footswitch to instantly tap in the tempo or engage the effect with momentary presses. Or connect an expression pedal to control knob parameters or the overall level as you perform. With the TRS MIDI input, you can sync your SL-2 grooves to a drum machine, DAW, or any other device that sends MIDI clock. A triple tier stand for 3 synthesisers 20cm width and 7cm height.
Notes: This stand its part of a new concept in COVERUP. With differents parts, you can use to put on multiple synths, including big devices, until now, not possible with the other stands.

You can configure your setup with you like more, with two big devices, or three medium devices. Easy to ensamble, very light to move from your studio to live. Just you need 1 minute to arm and start to playing.

Your setup of synthesizers and studio equipment can change permanently and with it also the position on the work table.

Taking this into account, CoverUp developed a 3-level support, which can be set up in different ways depending on the number of machines that we are going to place and their size.

In the triple stand configuration (using all 4 parts), 3 20cm machines can be placed. deep and a maximum height of 7cm.

This space is enough for much of the hardware available today.

The triple bracket parts are assembled with screws (included) using a universal socket that holds them together firmly.

In turn each part can be used as a simple support. It is only enough to separate the parts by removing the screws and use each part as it suits us.

Each part has rubber feet underneath, so that the support does not slip and is firmly supported.

Both halves of the triple support are linked with wooden rods at various points to give it lateral stability.

The design contemplates space for the rear connectors of each equipment, so that none of them are obstructed by the support.

The buttons can be used as momentary or toggle buttons, if you like with three or four states. Or you can group several buttons together so that they work like "radio buttons". Buttons can be used for various tasks like switching between different behaviours, selecting wave forms, switching steps of a step sequencer, changing the root or scale of a quantizer or chord generator and much more. Also you can use buttons for overlaying a single pots with multiple switchable functions.

You can attach up to 16 controllers to one DROID master. This is done with a 6 pin ribbon cable. This module gets its power from the DROID master.

Besides the P4B2 there are many other types of controllers for the DROID.

Notes: R2M is module 1 of a pair of two 2 HP modules that allow you to connect a chain of controllers to your DROID master through a standard 3.5 mm stereo cable (sometimes also called aux-cable).

The usual idea is that you put all your DROID controllers into a skiff case and mount your DROID master, X7 and G8 into another case, together with all your fancy Eurorack sound modules.

R2C is module 2 of a pair of two 2 HP modules that allow you to connect a chain of controllers to your DROID master through a standard 3.5 mm stereo cable (sometimes also called aux-cable).

The usual idea is that you put all your DROID controllers into a skiff case and mount your DROID master, X7 and G8 into another case, together with all your fancy Eurorack sound modules.

While you could do this with the typical 6-pin ribbon connector (e.g. the 80 cm version that we offer), using the R2M/R2C combination has some serious advantages:

The connection cable can be almost arbitrary long (20 m have been tested and works perfectly).

Since the connection is done on the front of the modules, you can quickly disconnect your skiff for the purpose of travelling to a gig.

You can use a standard 3.5 mm stereo TRS cable for the connection.

These modules are not just passive connectors but contain special driver ICs that transform the electronic voltage levels, which run in the 6-pin ribbon, to something more stable and reliable that is fit for longer distances in a more hostile environment.

The controllers do not receive their power from the master but from the R2C module, which has a power connector and a voltage regulator for that purpose. Each chain of the R2C module provides the same power to its controller chain as the master does (it contains the identical voltage regulator). That means that you can connect up to 32 controllers (!) to one R2C.

Another nice thing: The R2M/R2C combination allows for two of these master / controller connections in parallel. That means that you can have two masters being attached to their individual controller chains. That does not mean, that each of the masters can access each of the controllers at the same time, however. Both master / controller connections work completely separately.

Review: Die Gestalten's commitment to gnarly underground electro continues apace with this triple-pack monster from the shadowy figure. As ever there's a steely, almost industrial focus to the sound, where machine funk goes heavy on the machine. There is space for some melodic warmth as well, such as the cosy lead lines cresting over the top of 'Der Sucher' and the artfully modulated live version of 'Traenen'. But even in these more approachable moments there's a sense of robotic detachment - this is electro in the purist, icy sense of the word. If you thirst for a large dose of truly underground gear from a lone wolf, this payload will have you body popping for days.

Notes: The Chthonic Fuzz (pronounced: Thawnic) creates fat, corpulent, fudgy, sludgy, fuzz tones that pair perfectly with single-coil, P90, gold-foil, and De-Armond style pickups. It also works great with PAF-style humbuckers, but this fuzz was designed with brighter guitars and amps in mind.

Starting with a beloved a single-knob '70's fuzz circuit, DOD experimented with adding a subtle tone control (Lustre), and then a separate gain control (Fuzz). This yielded a simple yet powerful fuzz with an earthy, dark flavour. Straight-up transistor clipping using a pair of 2N2222 transistors allows guitar volume knob clean-up like other classic fuzzes, but the Chthonic comes from a different dimension. Think of it as a kind of Colorsound Overdriver from an alternate universe.

The Chthonic's Kraken/Cthulhu graphics are courtesy of the same artist that did the Carcosa Fuzz art. The Chthonic is a psychotic dizygotic dark companion to the Carcosa Fuzz.

The EHX Pico Canyon Echo takes the digital delay from the award-winning Canyon Delay and Looper and plates it up as a single serving echo unit. Starting with a crystal clean delay, the Canyon Echo is a sweetly simple delay with 3 seconds of delay time. Don't let the size fool you, this canyon is deep! Add filtering, tap tempo, and a feedback knob capable of infinite repeats and this little echo is up to most time bending tasks.

The Canyon Echo features a BLEND knob to get the perfect wet/dry mix. The DELAY knob sets the delay time from 8ms to 3s. FEEDBACK is adjustable from 1 repeat to infinite repeats for endless delay washes and pads. Turn the FILTER knob past noon and it's a High Pass Filter while below noon it is a Low Pass Filter.

Tap Tempo is simple and easy to use. Just press and release the footswitch at least two times to set the tempo and the LED will blink to confirm your tap tempo. The tempo can then be subdivided from a quarter note to a dotted eight note to an eighth note with the TAP DIV button. Additionally, the Canyon Echo also features selectable Tails bypass so echoes continue after putting the pedal into bypass.

The Canyon Echo also features a new style of Infinite Repeats where a single delay is repeated and the input is taken out of the delay path. This makes the pedal function like a micro tape looper that can be played over without new delays being created. The micro loop can also be manipulated into warped sound effects by adjusting the DELAY knob.

The EHX Pico Oceans 3-Verb is an ultra-compact reverb pedal packed with the essentials of ambience with plenty of flexibility and control. This Pico-sized reverberator adds the huge sounds of Spring, Plate, and Hall reverb to any pedalboard while using minimal space. Adjustable decay time, pre-delay / spring length, and tone make the Oceans 3-verb able to create a plethora of spacious sounds.

SPRING - pays homage to the classic Fenderr 6G15 tube spring reverb
PLATE - the lush, warm reverb that got its name as it was originally created by a large metal plate
HALL - the rich reverberant sound of a grand concert hall

A comprehensive control set allows for tailored sound to any setup. BLEND adjusts from 100% dry to 100% wet. TIME controls the decay time of the reverb. DELAY/SPRING sets the pre-delay time in PLATE and HALL mode or selects between 3 springs lengths in SPRING mode. The TONE control adjusts the overall brightness of the reverb from bright and airy to warm and smoky.

Additionally, TAILS bypass can be selected so the reverb continues to decay after the pedal is switched to bypass. This allows for a more natural sounding decay when turn the reverb off. Infinite Reverb can be achieved by maxing out the TIME control in both PLATE or HALL mode or by pressing and holding the footswitch. This creates a building ambient soundscape until you release the footswitch.

Tape delay is loved for its warmth and charming imperfections compared to pristine digital delays. Their preamps could be pushed to saturation and, over time, the tape in vintage delay units would degrade causing a signature warble loved by many. These signature elements are captured and packed into Electro-Harmonix's Pico Rerun tape delay. Based off the tape delay algorithm found in the Canyon Delay & Looper, the Rerun gives vintage vibes with modern features.

The Rerun features a simple control set and tap tempo for ease of use in any situation. BLEND sets the wet/dry blend. DELAY adjusts the delay time from 8ms to 3s. SAT adds tape saturation and distortion for added crunch to only the wet signal, keeping your dry signal unaffected by the added distortion. FDBK sets the level of repeats from 1 to infinite for runaway oscillation. You can also press and hold the footswitch to engage infinite repeats in an instant. The FLUTTER mode switch toggles between low, medium, and heavy modulation effects ranging from slight chorusing to seasick thickness.

Tap Tempo is simple and easy to use. Just press and release the footswitch at least two times to set the tempo and the LED will blink to confirm your tap tempo. Additionally, the Rerun also features selectable Tails bypass allowing echoes to continue after putting the pedal into bypass.

The EHX Pico Triboro Bridge is a tri-mode drive box with a wide range of tonal possibilities. Featuring Overdrive, Distortion, and Fuzz modes, it bridges any gap in your gain. With a powerful EQ, input contouring, and a pico-sized footprint, the Triboro Bridge can be your tonal keystone or a welcome change from the routine drive.

Starting with Overdrive mode, the gain spectrum ranges from low to mid with an open voicing that can be used as a light always on drive or a solo boost. Engage the Triboro's Distortion mode for additional gain-staging for a tone from crunchy rhythms to fully saturated leads. Transform the pedal into something completely different with the Fuzz mode's over-the-top gain, Gate and Low Pass Filter.

The Triboro Bridge controls features Volume and Gain knobs to control the overall output and saturation of the tone. In Overdrive and Distortion modes, the Treble and Bass knobs act as a Baxandall EQ for simple yet effective tone shaping. In Fuzz mode the Treble knob is now the gate more, controlling the Fuzz's noise gate threshold, and the Bass knob controls a Low Pass Filter for extreme tonal variations. Additionally, the Triboro Bridge features an Input Contouring EQ which can be applied to your tone at the input, for a more modern, sculpted tone in all modes.

The Spruce Goose soars with a host of new features including a LIFT switch accessing 3 input gain settings, additional output, and expanded EQ to send you tone flying! From meaty boost to smooth singing leads, the Spruce Goose steers your tone into a variety of inspiring and musical directions.

The engine of the Spruce Goose is an overdrive circuit renowned for its natural breakup and amp-like response. This circuit is then elevated to new heights by the LIFT switch which selects between 3 levels of input gain. LIFT effectively works as an input boost, goosing the front end of the drive circuit hitting harder and producing a more compressed, saturated tone while still retaining its dynamic feel and transparent tone. GAIN and VOL knobs adjust for exact drive and output levels. EQ of the pedal consists of a TREBLE knob for taming topping and an active BASS knob to cut or boost bass frequencies. BASS is especially helpful for adding girth to single coil guitars or tightening the low end on warmer humbucker guitars.

The Spruce Goose also features mechanical relay true bypass switching with latching and momentary action. Tap the footswitch for a normal latching toggle or press and hold the footswitch for a momentary blast of gain and boost! Great for stepping out in front of the mix for pulling quick lick or moment of sonic chaos.
