ASM Hydrasynth Explorer 888 Polyphonic Wave Morphing Synthesiser (orange limited edition)
Cat: 1052523 Rel: 03 Feb 25 • View all Synthesisers

8-voice 37-key polyphonic digital wave morphing synthesiser
Notes: Limited-edition orange version of the superb Hydrasynth Explorer. A smaller, more affordable version of the Hydrasynth Keyboard. Advanced wavetable synthesis with 8-voice polyphony, hands-on control and an excellent keybed with polyphonic aftertouch.

Supplier's Notes:
The HYDRASYNTH EXPLORER is the ultimate in power and portability, combining the powerful Hydrasynth sound engine with battery-powered operation and the new, mid-sized Polytouch polyphonic aftertouch keybed. The user interface is designed with the utmost attention to detail, making sound creation a breeze. This is the ultimate, portable companion for any setup, and anywhere else a smaller footprint is needed.

With an advanced wavetable synthesis engine, 3 Oscillators, dual Wave Mutants, and 2 filters that can be configured in series or parallel, the tone generating capabilities are unmatched.

As for the performance capabilities, the Hydrasynth Explorer has the proprietary 37-note mid-sized Polytouch keybed with polyphonic aftertouch. This provides a level of expressive, per-note control found only in certain vintage synths.

Polytouch Keybed

The perennial pursuit of musical instrument manufacturers is to find better ways for musicians to express themselves. Options have been limited for keyboard players; ASM had to settle for a velocity-only approach to emphasize one note over another. Pressure-sensitive keyboards could only change all of the notes at the same time. Not anymore!

Enter ASM, with patented Polytouch technology. The semi-weighted keybed on the Hydrasynth Explorer provides fully polyphonic aftertouch, as well as Note On / Note Off velocity sensitivity and the monophonic aftertouch found on other keybeds. Finally, variations in key pressure can affect notes individually. It feels great, too: the 37-note Polytouch keybed on the Explorer features high quality, mid-sized keys, and you will feel right at home, right away. The revolutionary Hydrasynth Explorer Polytouch keyboard helps you be more in touch with the music you are making. Now every note you play can ebb and flow like the tide.

Battery-powered operation

The Hydrasynth Explorer is highly portable! In addition to its compact size, it can be powered by 8 AA batteries for hours of music-making anywhere you want to go.

Oscillators
The tone generation capability is the heart of any synthesizer, and the 3 Hydrasynth oscillators are alive with potential. Each of the oscillators lets you choose from a selection of 219 single-cycle waveforms. And on top of that, two of the oscillators have powerful wavemorphing capabilities. Wavemorphing is a feature usually found on synths with preset wavetables. But creating user wavetables on those products is arduous or downright impossible. Unlike most wavetable synths, the oscillators 1 & 2 have an easy-to-use WAVELIST mode. This mode lets you select any 8 waves from the diverse collection of 219 waves, arrange them in the order you want, and then morph from one wave to another. This can be done automatically with any modulation source, such as an LFO or an envelope, or manually with a physical control such as polyphonic aftertouch or a Macro. And now in version 2.0 you can choose the bit depth of each oscillator, which puts those sought-after vintage or grungy sounds at your fingertips.

Mutants
Oscillators 1 & 2 are routed into ASM's MUTANTS. The Mutants allow you to modulate, bend and sculpt the sound in new (and old) ways.

Each Mutant lets you choose from the following processes:
FM-Linear: This is for making classic FM sounds. Choose multiple FM sources, including external inputs.
WavStack™: Creates 5 copies of the input source and allows you to set a detune amount.
Osc Sync: This gives you those classic hard sync sounds. Try hard-syncing a morphing wavetable for some fun.
Pulse Width Modulation (PW-Orig): Performs the classic pulse width modulation on any waveform.
PW-Squeeze: Compresses the centre section of the waveform, for a unique type of PWM.
PW-ASM: Divides the incoming wave into 8 slices and lets you set the amount of FM that is applied to each segment. This is FM unleashed.
Harmonic Sweep: This will sweep the harmonics of the input source.
PhazDiff: Generates the difference of the incoming wave and a version that is inverted and phase-shifted.

The Mutants can also generate their own waveforms in both FM and Sync modes, so you don't have use another oscillator. Of course, the routing is flexible so you can choose the other oscillators as mod sources if you like.

Mixer / Filter Routing
The 3 Oscillators are fed into a mixer along with the Noise generator and Ring Modulator. The mixer gives you independent control over the levels and stereo positions of those 5 sources. After this you are able to choose how much signal from each source is routed to filters 1 and 2. The filters can be routed in parallel or series for ultimate flexibility. Who knew that a simple mixer could be so powerful?

Filters
If oscillators and tone generators are the heart of a synthesizer, the filters are the soul. The soul of a Hydrasynth is a complex thing; it can claw or caress, scream or soothe, mangle or melt. It has been known to speak. The multi-faceted Hydrasynth filters are right in the thick of it. Filter 1 has 16 different models ranging from 1 to 8 poles, many with high-, band-, and low pass options. There is also a flexible vocal filter with formant control. Even if Filter 1 were the only filter the Hydrasynth had, it would take a lifetime to exhaust the possibilities. But it is not alone. Filter 2 is a 12dB per octave state-variable filter, which means it can sweep continuously from either low pass > bandpass > high pass or low pass > notch > high pass. It is similar to the classic SEM filter in many ways.
These two formidable filters can be configured in series or parallel. This means the one can feed and be sculpted by the other (series), or they can complement one another (parallel). With careful use of source panning in the Mixer module, the left and right outputs can be completely different or rich in unified complexity.

LFO's
5 Low-Frequency Oscillators
Much like ASM's sound engine, the LFOs are not ordinary by any means.
The Hydrasynth LFOs feature a STEP mode that lets you create patterns with up to 64 steps. Having 5 mini step sequencers gives you an amazing number of possibilities for further shaping your sound.
Of course, there are also 10 standard waveforms available, including Sample and Hold, Noise, and Random.
Each LFO has delay, fade in, 3 triggering modes, smoothing, start phase, BPM sync, and a One-Shot mode so that they can act as envelopes.
The version 2.0 LFOs have some exciting new features, including a Step option for the One-Shot mode that allows the Step wave to advance by one step per trigger.
And LFOs now can be quantized to create stepped values. It's like bit reduction for your LFOs.
Wait...LFOs can be envelopes?! Can envelopes be LFOs? Glad you asked...

Envelopes
5 DAHDSR Envelopes
An advanced sound engine needs plenty of modulation sources. The 6-stage envelopes feature Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain, and Release stages.
The durations of the ADR stages can be set to seconds or subdivisions of the tempo, giving you envelopes that play in sync to your song.
In fact, you can also loop the envelopes, which turns them into LFOs that can be shaped by any source in the modulation matrix.
Each envelope can be triggered by up to four different sources, and there's a Tap Trigger option too.
And now the envelopes can be quantized to different step levels as of version 2.0. Bit reduction strikes again!

Modulation Matrix
The modulation capabilities on the Hydrasynth are endless. With 32 user-definable Modulation matrix slots, there are plenty of ways to use the 35 modulation sources and 191 modulation destinations. Almost everything in the synth engine can be a modulation destination, including the effects and arpeggiator. The modulation routes themselves can also become modulation destinations, and can be targeted by the Macros too. Modulation sources & destinations include the CV Mod Out jacks as well as all 128 MIDI CCs. There are some hard-wired modulation routes located in other modules too. This means you don't have to burn up one of the 32 mod routes in the Modulation matrix to do certain basic functions.

Arpeggiator
The arpeggiator has all the standard arpeggio directions plus a few twists (up, down, and/or sideways, sort of). There's also a built-in phrase mode, and version 2.0 adds new features like Step Offset and increases the range to 6 octaves. Parameters like RATCHET and CHANCE will generate other semi-random rhythmic patterns to add life and spontaneity to your performance.
You can also modulate most of the parameters in the arpeggiator. Imagine using LFOs, Envelopes, Polyphonic Aftertouch or the Ribbon controller to modify your arpeggios in real time! It boggles the mind.

Black Corporation Kijimi MK2 8-Voice Analogue Synthesiser
Cat: 1029533 Rel: 05 Mar 25 • View all Synthesisers

8-voice analogue synthesiser with polyphonic aftertouch, MPE & microtuning
Notes: Inspired by the RSF Polykobol, the mighty Kijimi is a serious analogue synth, packing eight voices of two-VCO architecture and SSI2140-based filters. MK2 upgrade features more powerful firmware, extensive LFO options and neat wooden end panels.

Supplier's Notes:
KIJIMI MK2 is crafted to be one of the most powerful polysynths ever built, all behind intuitive front-panel controls, from its continuous timbral variation to its exhaustive modulation matrix. The Black Corporation original features planetary-sized analog sound, inspired by the best of rare and classic synths, but unique to our own parallel galaxy.

Continuous analogue timbral control

Instead of fixed waveforms, KIJIMI's voltage-controlled oscillators can morph continuously through waveform types. Sine, triangle, sawtooth, and variable pulse waves are smoothly variable, with pulse width as you turn to the far right. It's a scheme that provides unique, independent timbral over each of the eight voices.

Deep 8-voice architecture

Each of KIJIMI 's 8 voices features 2 analogue oscillators each with a square sub-bass oscillator, for buttery timbres with extensive sound design options. The sub-oscillator produces an octave lower than the combined VCO1 and VCO2 outputs, meaning you can tune two sub-pitches. Hard sync is available in VCO sync and VCO1->2 and 2->1 configurations for maximum flexibility. There's also a noise source for adding bite and percussion components. A rich lowpass filter is built around the legendary 2140 chip and the ability to frequency-modulate it via VCO2, creates a full range of sounds from metallic and aggressive to subtle. Both filter cutoff and resonance are available as modulation destinations.

Unique envelope functionality with dedicated controls

Two ADSR envelopes come with independent rate multipliers, keyboard control of attack rate, and versatile routing. Engage the CYCLE button for a cycling trapezoidal mode, similar to that on vintage instruments like the EMS Synthi. Few polysynths offer this level of detailed control, let alone with front-panel controlsino menu diving needed.

Endless modulation programmability

Modulation possibilities set the KIJIMI apart from other polysynths. Two LFOs can be routed independently to up to eight destinations, directly on front-panel buttons, controlling frequency and waveform modulation, sub-oscillator amount, filter cutoff and frequency, and amplitude modulation. Each LFO includes multiple waveform options (sine, triangle, saw, ramp, square, random) and separate attack and decay knobs in addition to rate. ADSR2 sports four independent destinations, also via front-panel push buttons and knobs. Even velocity and aftertouch get their own dedicated control section for applying velocity or aftertouch to each parameter (LFO rate, waveform morph, sub, pitch bend, and VCA). Dedicated knobs let you apply your aftertouch and poly-aftertouch, to taste, right where you want it. You'll rarely use the menus, and when you do, it'll only be to unlock even more advanced functionality (like multiple LFO features!). KIJIMI is a rare case of fusing straightforward one-control-per-feature design with unrestricted possibilities.

Full MIDI and expressive control, tuning support

Combine all the elements, and KIJIMI is an instrument that's playable like no other. Each note you play separately triggers modulation, independently on each voice, with full control via aftertouch. Add in full MIDI control, complete MIDI polyphonic expression (MPE) support, advanced tuning capabilities (including microtuning via SCALA and 128 memory locations for tuning settings), and velocity polyphonic aftertouch, each with up to six more destinations with its own bipolar settings. KIJIMI finally brings a synthesizer architecture that can unlock the possibilities of your expressive controller of choice.

Updated package

The MK2 version of KIJIMI includes all the acclaimed sonic power and character of its predecessor, in an improved package. Updated firmware now includes the ability to assign different LFO settings (rate, waveform, envelope, and depth) to each individual destination. In addition to 128 factory and 1152 user presets, we've included user banks by Mathew Jonson, Richard Devine, and Paul Schilling. All this comes in a compact, 2.71kg/5.97 lb device with wood panels attached (or the option of metal rack ears instead). DIN MIDI and isolated USB are onboard.

2-way active studio monitor
Notes: When workspace is at a premium, don't compromise on quality. With the 8020D, Genelec's renowned accuracy and reliability will fit your project and your space.

The Genelec 8020D is small in dimensions, but big in ambition. The 8020D, introduced in 2017, even delivers 4 dB higher SPL and has a lower energy consumption than earlier models of 8020. Designed to suit the broadest possible range of listening environments, 8020D thrives when space is at a premium, and draws on the innovation of the 8000 Series for an unrivalled near-field experience.

Trust in the colour-free, accurate reproduction of the Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE), while relying on the precise on- and off-axis frequency reproduction of the Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). Genelec 8040B Compact 2-Way Active Studio Monitor (single, black)
Cat: 1072030 Rel: 13 Feb 25 • View all Studio monitors

Active studio monitor with intelligent signal sensing power management
Notes: The Genelec 8040BMM studio monitor is a major upgrade from their 8040A model, adding ISS power management to an already amazing nearfield monitor. Boasting performance comparable to much larger systems, but in a compact package, the bi-amplified Genelec 8040BMM is ideal for use in many situations where a wide frequency response is needed but space is limited. Whether you're building your project studio, outfitting your mobile rig, or upgrading your editing suite, you're going to be glad you chose the Genelec 8040BMM studio monitors.

The 8040BMM features Genelec's MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) with rounded edges and gently curved front and sides. This allows the 8040BMM to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimised cabinet edge diffraction.

Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8040BMM also features the advanced Genelec DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8040BMM's directivity. Genelec designed this specially shaped, very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximised to achieve an astoundingly flat on and off axis frequency response. As a result, the 8040BMM has an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on and off axis. This also gives the 8040BMM superb imaging qualities and reduces listening fatigue.

To increase the 8040BMM woofer's low frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow optimised reflex port. The long, curved tube maximises airflow, so the 8040BMM can reproduce deep bass without compression. The tube terminates with a wide flare, minimising port noises and providing excellent bass articulation. An optimised die cast aluminium structure with extremely durable semi matte finish and acoustically optimised metal grilles add to the 8040BMM's acoustic excellence.

Genelec's low distortion drivers (6.5" bass speakers and 3/4" metal dome tweeters) are driven by the 8040BMM's dedicated 90 watt bass and treble amplifiers after sophisticated filtering. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and versatile room response controls are standard.

Thanks to Genelec's ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) power management system, you never have to remember to shut down your 8040BMM monitors again. ISS constantly checks for input signal. After a while, if ISS doesn't detect anything, it switches your 8040BMM over to a low power sleep state, safeguarding your gear and sparing you the wasted electricity.

The versatile mounting features on the 8040BMM include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further M10 thread for mounting on the cabinet base. In addition, every Genelec 8040BMM monitor comes with a standard IsoPod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler). The IsoPod is a clever mounting stand, which allows the 8040BMM to perform in either the vertical or horizontal position. The IsoPod also enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it is resting on.

Intech Studio Grid EF44 4-Encoder & 4-Fader Modular MIDI Controller
Cat: 1032106 Rel: 28 Jan 25 • View all MIDI controllers

Modular MIDI controller consisting of 4x encoders & 4x faders
Notes: Shape your sound with the EF44 Grid through fine-grained control over performance effects, modulation, panning and much more.

Geared with metal-shaft audio-grade linear faders and detent push-encoders. Seamless use for MIDI CC mapping for your DAW.

Equipped with customisable multi-coloured LED lights to enable labelling in dark environments. Facilitate differentiating each potmeter by changing the colour of each indicator LED, adjusting brightness levels individually or adding pulsing animations. All configurable in the Grid Editor. Each module is flexibly extendable with other Grid controllers enabled by the golden pins and magnets on all sides.

Thanks to its compact and lightweight structure, the EF44 is a fully ergonomic parameter controller. The encoders have a clicky, detent tactile feedback on turning, while the faders have a smooth travel and can be upgraded with old-school mixer style caps.

It is recommended that, Grid is connected directly to the computer with the supplied Intech Studio USB-C cable. Some USB hubs may not work with Grid, due to issues with how the various class compliant communication methods establish connection through a hub with the host computer.

Most digital audio workstations can identify Grid as a MIDI controller and appear as a MIDI mappable device. When multiple modules are interconnected, Grid is identified as a single control surface. If the interconnected controllers are plugged in separately into the same Host, they appear as Grid #1, Grid #2 MIDI devices and so forth.

By default, through the Host's MIDI learn functionality, all of the control elements can be mapped. Grid's default firmware uses a unique dynamic assignment, so a 10 module Grid control surface will have unique Channel, Command and CC/Note assignments on each control element.

Grid controllers are shipped with firmware default configuration. To modify the configurations of the controllers, the Grid Editor cross-platform application can be used. Through the Grid Editor, suggested manufacturer profiles and community profiles are also available. Grid has an event driven architecture, where every interaction with the controller triggers an event. The triggered event runs the configured actions, like setting LED colours and intensity.

Events on Grid available for configuration:
Init - when a page is initialized
Potmeter - fader or potentiometer change event
Encoder - rotation of endless encoders
Button - switch button or encoder interaction
Utility - side button
Midi rx - MIDI processing incoming to Grid
Timer - delayed message triggers

Grids are created to suit distinguished workflows. Whether it comes to controlling outboard hardware gear like synthesizers, guitar pedals, and effect boxes, or inboard software such as DAWs, Lightning, and VSTs, a Grid controller is an ideal choice.
Get started with Grid in an instant: just plug in, snap together and play. There is no need for a brain module or any additional software components.

Intuitive Instruments Exquis Deluxe Expressive MIDI Controller (aluminium sides)
Cat: 1058202 Rel: 15 Jan 25 • View all MIDI controllers

MIDI controller featuring 61 pressure and position sensitive hexagonal keys
Notes: A controller, an app, an instrument.

The Exquis controller gives you immediate access to the rules of harmony to improvise with or without theoretical prerequisites, and offers you dimensions of expressiveness that you can quickly master. In combination with the Exquis app, a unique workflow opens up, allowing you to create an entire song in a few minutes: choose sounds, record loops, play the conductor and structure your songs in complete spontaneity.

Exquis offers an intuitive way to guide you on the right path, while allowing you to get out of it. No hassle: just choose a scale, and follow its luminous path to play in tune. Thanks to our default note layout, it's very easy to make chords; Exquis arranges notes that sound good together next to one another. You will be amazed at how harmony falls under your fingers.

Compared to a piano keyboard, on our note layout the semitones are also arranged horizontally, the harmonious (third) notes are always next to one another, and the intervals starting from any note are always the same. If you prefer, you can change the note layout, and soon even create your own tailored note layout using our editor.

On the default note layout, scales can be simply represented by a pair of light paths; whether you are a beginner, amateur or experienced musician, just follow the colors, with one or two hands, to stay in tune and improvise spontaneously. Explore many scales (major, minor, dorian, oriental...) and soon you will be able to create your own using our editor.

Our default note layout goes back to the basic logic of harmony, putting notes that sound good together (thirds) next to one another vertically. Each type of chord (major, minor, diminished, dominant etc) always forms a single and unique transposable form.

Inspired by the finesse of acoustic instruments, the keys of Exquis are both firm enough to play percussion and short notes with precision, and soft enough to modulate long notes with sensitivity. Tap, press, and tilt multiple keys independently using the MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) protocol. The encoders (clickable, with infinite and smooth rotation and with a slight resistance) allow you to control the effects of a sound being played, as well as certain essential settings in the various menus.

In order to allow musicians to create new rhythms and moods, the application natively includes exclusive features. For example, we were inspired by the workshops of Jacob Collier and will soon allow the use of tuplets (particular divisions of beats such as 1/5 or 1/7), useful for creating grooves with a drunk effect.

The Exquis keyboard is a MIDI controller compatible with all software, MIDI synthesizers and modular synthesizers. The Exquis app, although optimized for the controller, is also compatible with all MIDI controllers, and like all MIDI controllers, the Exquis keyboard is compatible with most DAWs and plug-ins.

Intuitive Instruments Exquis Deluxe Expressive MIDI Controller (wooden side)
Cat: 1058206 Rel: 15 Jan 25 • View all MIDI controllers

Supplier's notes:

Welcome to the brand-new Oxygen Series from M-Audio, the Oxygen Series (MKV). In today's world of music production, controlling your digital music environment is important. It is not only how the pros improve their workflow, but also how they create unique cutting-edge signature sounds.AM-Audio has updated the most iconic series of MIDI keyboard controllers on the market for software-based music production and performance. The new Oxygen Series (MKV) keyboard controllers offer innovative advancements in hardware control enabling you to create modern cutting-edge music on stage or in the studio.

Professional Producer Features

The Oxygen 49 (MKV) controller includes powerful features essential for creating and producing music such as Note Repeat (a staple mark in beat production), Full Velocity Control of keys and 8 pads, 8 assignable knobs for controlling effect plugins and virtual instruments, and 9 assignable faders for mixing: all opening a world of precise music creation techniques making your signature sound professional and modern.

Note Repeat allows you to hold down any of theA8Acustom-made M-Audio velocity-sensitive performance pads in 2 available pad banks to hear a repeated rhythmic pattern at a selectable note division. The Note Repeat feature can be activated momentarily or can be used in Latch mode. If you choose Momentary, holding the Note Repeat button will make the note played by the pad automatically repeat. If you choose Latch, pressing any pad will cause its assigned note to repeat without having to hold down the Note Repeat button.

Built-in Arpeggiator

Arpeggiators help add excitement and movement to music quickly and easily. The built-in Arpeggiator on the Oxygen 49 (MKV) with Type, Octave, Gate and Swing controls will creatively affect anything you are playing on the keys from any virtual instrument in your DAW. When the Arpeggiator is activated, the keyboard will repeatedly play the keys that are pressed in the selected sequence. The arpeggiator's timing and rhythm is based on the keyboard's time division setting in either the keyboard's tempo, or your DAW's tempo setting. Each note in the arpeggio will be the length selected for the time division setting. For example, if you select 1/4, each note in the arpeggio will be audible in quarter note increments. This powerful tool can operate in Latch or Momentary mode, making it easy to unleash your creativity.

Smart Controls

Smart Chord and Smart Scale technology are the bridges between your musically creative mind and your final productions. TheASmart Chord feature helps bring out your inner musical genius by playing full chords with a single key press, and with the Smart Scale feature, the Oxygen 49 (MKV) keys transform into a perfect scale, playing the exact notes within a chosen scale. With Smart Chord and Smart Scale technology, creating music and unleashing your unlimited creativity has never been easier.

With Smart Chord activated, pressing a single key will play a full chord rather than just one note. The key you press will determine the root note in the chord. The rest of the chord's properties (Major, Minor, and Voicing) are determined by the settings you choose. Smart Chord also has a Custom Mode which lets you determine the chord structure that will be assigned to each key by manually playing it. For example, if you select Custom Mode, and play a 1-b3-5-b7 chord, every key will then be assigned to play this chord structure. The note of the key you press will serve as the root of the chord and all the parameters can be edited right on your Oxygen keyboard controller.

The Oxygen series also features intelligent Smart Scale technology. With Smart Scale, you can set the keybed so that only notes in the selected scale are able to be played. This allows you to play within a chosen scale without the risk of playing any wrong notes. You can choose from over 15 different scale variations when assigning a scale to the keyboard. With Smart Scale controls right on the keys, you will have easy access to set and change Smart Scale parameters on the fly, keeping you focused on what is most important, creating music.

Majella Audio Implexus West & East Coast Synthesiser
Cat: 913189 Rel: 04 Mar 25 • View all Synthesisers

A hardware desktop synthesiser combining west- and east-coast synthesis techniques into a single formfactor.
Notes: An excellent combination of West Coast and East Coast synth philosophies, the Implexus features a complex wave generator and wave folder, analogue low-pass filter and sinkable LFOs and stereo delay.

Supplier's Notes:
The IMPLEXUS is a hardware desktop synthesizer combining west - and east-coast synthesis techniques into a single formfactor. The IMPLEXUS uses analogue waveshaping, folding and audio rate modulation to create a immense range of sounds and textures!

The IMPLEXUS is a performance-oriented musical instrument which will inspire you to compose music and explore its unique soundscape. The IMPLEXUS has a carefully designed analogue signal path with many unique ways to create intriguing sounds. The many sound shaping methods and modulation possibilities help you to create west-coast style harmonically rich sounds as well as thick east-coast analogue sounds.

The IMPLEXUS has a powerful "one-knob-per-function" interface with graphical feedback, utilizing LED rings to indicate modulators. The drone mode, tap tempo and looping envelopes let you explore the IMPLEXUS as a standalone sound generator. The MIDI and Eurorack compatibility and clock synchronisation options make sure it can be played in every setting. The IMPLEXUS is built to last. It has metal shaft potentiometers, an aluminium casing with scratch and solvent resistant graphics and an internal power supply (no adapter!). The IMPLEXUS is a characteristic, unique and complete musical instrument.

"West-Coast"

The characteristic sound of the IMPLEXUS comes from shaping and folding a sinewave, resulting in a complex waveform. The shaping and folding can be modulated at audio-rate in a single knob turn utilizing the second generator. Instead of subtracting you will be adding harmonics. After tweaking for a while you will be surprised to find out you didn't touch the filter... yet.

Unique filter design

The IMPLEXUS offers a 12dB/oct VCF with a unique analogue topology. This filter offers a lowpass and highpass mode. For cutoff modulation there is an envelope amount control with polarizer and a CV input on the back of the IMPLEXUS. There is an input mixer that has amplitude control over three inputs: complex generator, basic generator and the sub-oscillator.

Syncable delay

The IMPLEXUS has a stereo digital delay with dry/wet, delay-time and feedback control. There is a subtle modulation difference between the left and right channels to create a wide stereo image.
The delay can be synchronized to MIDI and external (modular) clock sources. Also the delay can be synchronized to Tap Tempo. For clock synchronization there are five divisions: 1/1 3/4 1/2 1/3 1/4.

Global pitch controls

The IMPLEXUS has a global pitch control section offering control over glide rate and pitch envelope amount. There is a dedicated vibrato LFO with manual control over amount and frequency.

Syncable LFO's

The IMPLEXUS has two LFO's with a variety of waveforms and multiple modulation destinations. The LFO's offer a wide range of 0.01 - 100Hz and can be BPM synced to MIDI and external clock. The LFO's can also be synchronized to Tap Tempo and can even be set in five different divisions.

Connections

The IMPLEXUS offers a 1/4" stereo balanced output. In addition to that there is a stereo headphone output with dedicated volume control.
There is standard MIDI input and thru over DIN and USB. Also there is a eurorack compatible patchbay on the back. This extends the sound and modulation possibilities of the IMPLEXUS even more!

Built in VCO tuner

There is a strobe tuner with 3 LED's on board, which lets you tune both the Complex and the Basic generator to a perfect "A" within just a couple of seconds.

A unique project by a small company

Majella Audio is a small company, and because of that, Majella Audio do most of the design and development themselves. The amount of hard work and effort that went into this project is what makes the IMPLEXUS a unique piece of gear with outstanding build quality. Majella Audio have created a few "How its made" videos to give you an insight into the design and development of the IMPLEXUS, which are viewable on their web page.
