Review: Coming in hot after last year's Pura Lempuyang compilation is this new two part 12" offering up cuts from it on limited edition turquoise wax. Dib kicks off with 'Cieloterra' which is a devilishly deep and dubby techno cut with fizzing synths running across its face. Federsen is much more smooth and silky with liquid pads and a sublime sense of frictionless groove to his 'Random Motion' while Grad U offers more heavy and stumbling dub quakes on 'From The Shadows.' Last of all is Altone's 'Emergent Structure,' a lush minimal excursion with deft hits and feathery pads over sublime drums.

Review: It sounds like Lithuanian producer Grad U has found his natural home on Echocord. The Danish imprint has been one of the most distinctive platforms in dub techno and Space Explorations fits right in to its brief. "Debris Disk" starts the release with an ominous, mid-tempo groove and splintered hats, reminiscent of Dimension 5. "Hydrogen Reactor" is more functional, with cheese wire percussion mixed with tough but resonant kicks. However, it sounds like Grad U's comfort zone is a more esoteric place and the spacey chords and billowing textures of "Quantum Corrections" is a beautifully measured, reflective affair.

Review: Hallucinogenic and chord driven dub techno is Lithuania producer Grad_U's game and if you could see his music it would be something like the northern lights; shimmering curves of fluorescent candescence. It is his third EP for the Redscale label which counter-balances his album releases for the Greyscale imprint - also at three releases. Every EP on the red series is a double track release, seemingly supporting something a little deeper, with something light. "EV-2" beats slow, like a relaxed heart having oxygen filled blood pump through its valves, while "EV-6" is a completely beatless piece full of kaleidoscopic textures and deeply hued atmospherics.

Review: Since 2012, Lithuanian dub techno adventurer Grad U has concentrated his energies on delivering a series of warm, sparse and intoxicating 12" singles on his own Redscale label. This fifth installment in the series delivers more becalmed, almost horizontal forays into shuffling, hypnotic deepness. "EV-1" kicks things off, layering subtle shakers and gentle chords over a spaced-out dub techno pulse. Grad U gets a little more upbeat - by his stoned standards, at least - on the undulating "EV O", while standout "EV 1" successfully adds a little intergalactic sheen to his heavily filtered, liquid techno formula. Like the rest of the series, this should be essential listening for dub techno enthusiasts.

Review: Like a lot of prolific dub techno producers, much of Grad_U's music slips out on CD. This EP marks his first appearance on wax for well over a year and contains two typically elongated, locked-in workouts. We're particularly enjoying A-side "Jacob's Dream", a sumptuous, 14-minute aural hallucination rich in seemingly shimmering electronic motifs, crackling percussion samples and aural textures smothered in Vasoline. While utterly sublime, it's nowhere near as dancefloor-focused as flipside "Observing The Night Sky", a gently pulsating chunk of vintage dub techno underpinned by a rock solid kick-drum pattern. In a word: intoxicating.

Review: Greyscale's director grad_u takes us back to his past and extracts 4 tracks off his highly revered album 'Works and Reconstructions'. Archive 02 is abundant with broken and concealed rhythm's that leaves any listener disoriented and taken back. Originally released in 2011 on ZeECc records, you can hear some of origins of grad_u's earlier beginnings. Languishing in dub and soaked in deepness this only previously on limited cd will get a proper release on vinyl and digital for the first time on homebase Greyscale. Know the future but by respecting the past.

Review: Aleksandr Martinkevic is Grad_U, and is a dub techno artist from Vilnius, Lithuania who has now been serving up fathom-deep tunes for over a decade. He mostly does so on Greyscale but it is Kontakt who signs him up here for two long gems. 'Betelgeuse' opens with classic dub FX, shimmering chords that are smeared in all directions and rolling, rounded drums setting the tempo. Oracys Fractio Resolutio Retake then gets a little more direct with its heftier kicks and on the flip 'Hesperus' locks you in over the course of almost thirteen minutes of skewed synth work and frictionless dub techno drum work.

Review: Greyscale unveils its latest endeavour, the Spectrum Series, as a way to continue to evolve its offerings and this time it is with something that makes a vibrant departure from its traditional black-and-white aesthetic. The inaugural release features the iconic Lithuanian dub track 'Kasdienybes Sventykla' by grad_u & Eazystyle MC as a way of commemorating its 15th anniversary. It came as a double CD in 2011 but now gets a first vinyl pressing on a nice 10" slab of wax. The track itself taps into the earliest roots of dub in the 70s and traces a line through the 80s with its heavyweight drums and endlessly echoing bass topped by great mic work. Review: Between 2012 and 2017, grad_u released nine EPs of high quality dub techno on the vinyl-only Redscale imprint. With the label now seemingly a thing of the past, the prolific Lithuanian producer has decided to gather together all 19 tracks from those sought-after vinyl EPs on CD for the very first time. Those who have paid close attention to grad_u's career will know what to expect, namely an evocative mixture of deep, hypnotic techno epics, delay-laden dub techno workouts, spacey late night rollers, abstract dancefloor explorations and occasional surprise turns towards a bolder, warehouse-friendly style (see the formidably sweaty and sub-heavy "Holdback").

Review: Considering the hazy, spaced-out and immersive nature of grad_u's dub techno productions, we were rather surprised to discover that "Umwelt" is his first full-length collection of cuts for almost seven years. We're glad he's finally got round to making another album, though, because it's the extended format that offers the best chance to wallow in his becalmed and beguiling blend of fuzzy aural textures, deep dub rhythms, woozy ambient soundscapes, fluid electronics and deep space beats. While it would be easy to pick out highlights - the up-tempo beats and pulsating chords of "Racing Thoughts", say, or the Basic Channel-esque throb of "Mars Odyssey" - the genius of "Umwelt" is how it hangs together as one intoxicating, slowly shifting set of dubbed-out electronic movements.

The sublime and immersive Sustain has eight larges ambient soundscapes that are detailed with field recordings from another planet. Each one is alluringly empty and beautiful, intriguing and unsettling to make for an escapist trip to another dimension. Review: Prolific Lithuanian dub techno explorer Grad_U is back with a new album which further develops his explorations in realms well beyond the limitations of the dancefloor. Spectral Decay examines all manner of spatial processing, not to mention celebrating the power of the space between the pulses. There are still some steadfast technoid rhythms to latch onto, but the beats are always secondary to the atmospherics in Aleksandr Martinkevic's immersive productions. With a couple of remixes from kindred spirits such as Dominique Jacquinet and Ohrwert Alter folded in for good measure, this is another essential trip into the echo chamber from a master of the craft.

Dub Melancolia lays out a dynamic vision across 11 slick tracks that all add up to a superb cinematic experience. Each of the deeply hypnotic cuts are detailed with exquisite additions like moody strings, celestial melodies and wintery pads. Label owner grad_u also appears with a remix of his own and further highlights com from the emotional 'Indigenous Dance' and 'Eden', a stylish sunning mid-tempo melody peaker.
