Review: The sixth album from Radioactive Man aka former Weatherall collaborator Keith Tenniswood, written amid a whirlwind of international touring,. 'Under The Counter' sets the tone with its soft, gleaming textures and deep bass. From there, the album dives into a vibrant mix of styles, from the slap bass funk of 'See Above' to the dense techno of 'Colourful Language'. But there's more than bangers. 'Sinkhole', for example, a collaboration with Suade Bergemann featuring vocals from Ali Love and Chloe Raunet, provides a poignant counterpoint with its melancholic melody. This triple 12" package, released on Tenniswood's own label, is a journey through UK rave, breakbeat and Detroit techno, all filtered through the lens of a master electro craftsman.

Review: Rapsody's fourth studio album, Please Don't Cry, displays her evolution as an artist unafraid to explore new territories. Drawing on lifelong influences, Rapsody creates a unique sonic experience that reignites public interest in forward-thinking hip-hop. With tracks like 'Asteroids,' she demonstrates her ability to blend pointed songwriting with innovative stylistics. This tightly wrapped album delves into Rapsody's past, empowering her future through vulnerability and self-awareness. 'Stand Tall' sets the tone for Rapsody's album with its powerful statement and crisp bars. Moderated by Sanaa Lathan, the track showcases Rapsody's phenomenal technical abilities and introduces overarching lyrical and musical themes that resonate throughout the album. With her technical dexterity and storytelling abilities, Please Don't Cry cements Rapsody's status as one of the best in the game.

Review: The Buddha Bar series is one of the most enduring in all of dance music. It made famous the bars of the same name which started in Paris and are now found throughout the world, all with a signature soundtrack of gentle downtempo, jazzy house and stylish Balearic. French label Wagram attempt to pull together some of the very best bits from the very many cosmos over the years onto this one triple pack. And they do a fine job too with nice horizontal sounds from Ravin, Carlos Campos & David Visan, Consoul Training & Pink Noisy and Panjabi Hit Squad amongst many more, all with a nice worldly feel and cocktail-sipping atmosphere.

Review: ***B-STOCK: Sleeve damaged but otherwise in excellent condition***

Razat has made an art form of distortion and saturation. The latter is what lends its name to this new eight-tracker on Saturate. After a fuzzy and textural opener the tumbling and brilliantly fluid rhythms of 'Overdrive' get you to the heart of the dance then 'Clipping' lurches backward and forwards on low-end oscillations and 'Bit Crush' closes the a-side with eye-watering hiss and fizz over crunchy drum slaps. Two further tunes on the flip find Razart manipulating sound and bass in his own unique way with two remixes adding extra bite to an already very useful EP.

Review: Beyond his most famous work in The Velvet Underground and as a solo rock artist, Lou Reed lived many other lives in and outside of music. While he's not readily recognised as an ambient artist, his early foray into Metal Machine Music proved he was more than capable of leaving traditional song structures behind. The music on his final solo album, Hudson River Wind Meditations, was originally composed as a private soundtrack to his Tai Chi practice, until friends and fellow practitioners asked for copies and he rounded it out as a full album now faithfully presented on clear vinyl by Light In The Attic.

Review: Sometime sis feels like The Roots is one of the most underrated yet important groups in hip hop. Musically and lyrically they were always cut from a different cloth. Do You Want More?!!!?! was their second full length and it landed in January 1995 on DGC Records, It was their first outing on a major after the success of their debut and is often talked about as a classic of the genre. This newly remastered trifold, triple vinyl repress has been remastered from the original tapes. It comes with bonus tracks curated by Questlove, plus rare photos, essays by Questlove and Black Thought, and even a track-by-track commentary.

Review: The much-anticipated fifth studio album from Rufus Du Sol, known for blending organic and electronic sounds, sees the Grammy-winning trio once again delving into familiar themes like love, heartbreak and euphoria across 15 tracks. This new record, featuring previously released singles 'Lately' and 'Music Is Better', marks the band's first new material in three years. Their latest single, 'Break My Love', shows the band's signature style, where smooth vocals from Tyrone Lindqvist weave into a hypnotic electronic backdrop. The track evokes hope and emotional depth while maintaining the group's dreamy, electronic soundscape. The accompanying retro-inspired music video, directed by longtime collaborator Katzki, adds a playful twist with a heist-themed storyline, reflecting the band's creative evolution. Inhale / Exhale represents a new creative phase for the trio, who describe this era as focusing on the joy of creation in the present moment. Fans can expect a mature sonic journey that carries forward the emotional highs and lows that have made RUFUS DU SOL a beloved force in the global electronic scene.

Review: The American hip-hop group Run DMC are some of the earliest pioneers of rap and hip-hop music. The pair emerged from a strange melting pot of a time in which rap was still stooped in the late vestiges of funk, but rappers themselves were becoming more interested in fusing their now harder-beat-driven style with elements of other extant and popular styles such as rock. Such is why this Run DMC album is called 'King Of Rock', capturing the duo's striking out into appealing to the already established rock music market, with guitar riffs and drum machines fusing neatly together on cuts like 'King Of Rock', 'You Talk Too Much', and 'Can You Rock It Like This'.

Review: Raising Hell was legendary US hip-hop group Run-D.M.C's third studio album and it dropped in May 1986. The one and only Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons produced the album which peaked at three in the Billboard chart and also produced some of the band's biggest ever singles. They are of course 'My Adidas', 'Walk This Way' with Aerosmith', 'You Be Illin'' and 'It's Tricky' and are the sound of this collective at their most potent. Raising Hell is also the name of one of the band's legendary tours back in 1986 and The Apollo 86, a live recording of one of the nights in that run, is one of their best, so why not cop both.

Review: Run-DMC was one of the most influential groups of the 1980s thanks to them revolutionising rap with their bold beats and sharp lyrical exchanges. Their self-titled debut album set a new standard for hip-hop and features hits like 'Rock Box' and the global sensation 'King of Rock,' which both still resonate today. This album became the first rap full-length to achieve Gold status and cemented the group's legacy forever. Run-DMC continued their momentum with two more groundbreaking albums after this, but you can't beat the OG realness and rawness of this classic.
