Review: The second of two Correspondences between Soundwalk Collective and the post-punk great hitter Patti Smith comes as the second audiovisual project in the series, exploring humanity's relationship with nature, history, and the sacred. 'Children of Chernobyl' captures the aftermath of the eponymoys disaster, while 'The Artist, The Acolyte & Nature' reflects on humanity's mutually assured capacity for destruction, forming twinned sides; a music historiography telegraphing over 500 years of "muse-ecology", from medieval Russia to the Chernobyl disaster and spirited musical responses to the ecological crisis. Inspired by the great artist Andrei Rublev's work, Smith's poetry is heard metabolising beauty, grief, and longing, as Smith meditates on darkness, hope, and the swooping impacts of history.
