Besides having one a particularly crucial name, Mannheim artist Freethinker Funk Essence knows his way around a big fat juicy groove. Building up a solid reputation on Timewarp and Hungarian imprint Mustbeat, here we find him landing on rising Swiss funk imprint Burning Sole with two limited work outs; "Ocean Drive" struts with some fine jazz boogie with fizzy Jean-Jacques Perrey style synth squiggles galore. "Liquor Bar" rolls at a slightly more leisurely pace, a swaggering break and lazy woozy keys. Only 100 pressed.
