A gobby crock of thriller reggae via trip-hop exclusives from Bristol pioneers Smith & Mighty, in classic and now recompiled form. Working out of St. Paul's at the Three Stripe studio, at around the same time as the Wild Bunch's purple patch, Rob Smith and Ray Mighty had established a boundaried, but still relatively free, "open door" recording policy, inviting many a collaborator to record. The 19 tracks you hear here have been culled from the same five-year period as the Bristol Archive Records compilation The Three Stripe Collection, and with even more tracks on here as on that release, this record is an effective homage to the slick, street-soul come dub duo's industrious output, near the time of the the band's abortive major label deal.
