The ORB feat LEE SCRATCH PERRY
Regular partners in crime Villalobos and Loderbauer join forces once again to get deep into their minimal tendencies on a pair of remixes for the new Orb release, featuring the mighty Upsetter Lee Scratch Perry on vocals. The A-side mix has a distinctly Villalobos flavour to it, keeping the drums delicate but splashy while an oddball bassline hums underneath, exercising a typical restraint. Side B features a bit more action as the bass comes to life a little more and the dynamic range gets filled with life in the shape of scatty effects and doodles of synthesisers, lifting it above militant austerity.
