Review: Florence-based Frank Hino’s 'Flying Dream' resurfaces with a subtle sense of reverence, but also something else: it’s the kind of track that feels too good to remain buried in the archives for long. The 'Vocal Version' comes first, its spiralling arpeggios almost reckless in their energy, bleeding into the kind of raw, unfettered rush that was the hallmark of 80s Italo. There's an elegance in Hino's delivery, but it never feels like it’s trying too hard — the melody is magnetic, yet just off-kilter enough to draw you in. On the flip, the 'Dub Version' provides a more measured reprieve, stripping things back, giving the track space to breathe without ever losing its sense of urgency. What’s so striking about 'Flying Dream' is how it effortlessly shifts between extroverted charm and introspective depth, existing somewhere between disco floor filler and something much more fragile. It’s a nod to the enduring allure of Italo: messy, elusive, and impossible to ignore.
