Instant Drum Beat Generator

Tap in the tempo, turn the Beat and Kit knobs to find your groove and play! There are 300 rhythms and 500 kits - it gives tons of combinations.

Modern Sound

With over 2000 samples, from the sounds of classic analogue machines to acoustic drums, anyone can find the sound they want. And, if you're going to create your kits, you can easily do it, too.

Per-Step Control
Customize over 15 parameters for each track's drum sound on a per-step basis. Switch up hi-hat velocity, add reverb to a final crash or throw in a 10% chance for a drum roll.

A Thousand Songs

Create and play complete 16-part songs, easily put together by quick-copying patterns, selecting new beats or making your own. Then make a playlist and go live!

Stomp-In FX

Use the FX stomp-switch to punch in customized effects from delays, reverbs, loopers, rearrangers and more. Every pattern in your song can have a different stomp-in effect.

Create complex and evolving patterns using probability, a dynamic drummer by switching up the velocity on eat hit, a sloppy drummer with the humanize, chance and micro-move features, or a perfect robotic machine.

As a live companion Step can't be beat. With the ability to stomp-in effects and change songs or patterns via the dedicated stomp-switches, Step is a one stomp solution for all your performance needs.

Smash the FX stomp-switch and create interesting transitions or emphasize a solo. Freely assign over 50 effects in 8 different categories to the FX stompswitch, from repeaters and rearrangers to delays and reverbs.

For even more live control, assign the expression pedal to parameters including tempo or volume.

In Sync

Step is the perfect bandmate, keeping everything in sync. Use Step's MIDI input and output to stay in time with your delay, start playback at the same time as a looper, and more.

Keep your devices in sync too. Step's sequences are also compatible with Play and Play+. Create and exchange patterns between grooveboxes and the pedal, in both directions.
