Review: Oona Toivanen Trio returns to We Jazz Records with their new album Gravity and in doing so they mark a milestone. It's a record that offers up their evolving sound and one that goes beyond the traditional piano trio format. The music exudes a remarkable sense of telepathy and intimacy which is evident from the first moments of Gravity. Formed in 2000, the trio's bond extends beyond music, with Joona, Olavi, and Tapani's friendship dating back to childhood in Jyvaskyla, Finland so their deep connection has been built over years of playing together.
