Review: Tel Aviv-based producer Khen delivers two tightly controlled house cuts on the third release from Roy Rosenfeld's No Drama label. 'Back in the Days' sets a clipped vocal loop against shuffling percussion and subtle modulation, keeping the structure linear while allowing space for small, deliberate shifts. The groove never breaks stride but changes just enough to maintain momentum without overplaying its hand. On the B-side, 'Usual Madness' adds melodic detail without clutter. Arpeggiated synths glide over a buoyant low end, with background textures folding in gradually. A brief drop strips things back before a final build adds tension, not drama. Both tracks are engineered with clarity and economy, leaning on arrangement rather than effects to hold attention. It's functional but thoughtful material that's built for extended play without overstating itself.
