Konbini Classics shine a light on the tightest of city pop unknowns, where many an ingenious album and single in the style has thus far flown cynically under the European market's radar. First up on their latest 7" is Anri, with 'Gone With Sadness', a sizzling, pinching funk cut from the Kanagawa-born, LA-based singer's seventh album COOOL. Then contemporaneous 80s superstar Yurie Kokobu backs up the buzz with a much boxier and heavier tune, 'Dancing Tonight', a B-side from her well-mannered debut album, Relief 72 Hours.
