Gente Seria Viste Chandal Vol 6
MMS - "Human Cattle" (4:11)
Uni-Mate - "Dancefloor" (4:06)
Korrupted Brothers - "They Come At Night" (feat Samuel Fitch) (4:05)
Vema-Diodes - "Ultrasonic" (5:32)
Mecanizados Colomer - "Del Diseno A La Entrega" (5:06)
Promising Youngster - "Cubo" (feat Huugen & Engy) (5:49)
Review: The name of Barcelonan label Gente Seria Viste Chandal could best be translated to English as "serious people wear tracksuits", and while it may seem like a non-starter, we can glean all sorts of things from the idea alone. Best not to show up to any of their parties without at least your cotton bottoms on! Their sixth V/A brings handpicked local talents crossing between electro, complextro, grime and technobass with a naughty naughties tinge, the likes of 'Ultrasonic' and 'They Come At Night' emphasising freaky acids and soft-clipping chirrups in the highs.

Age Of Chance - "Time's Up (Timeless)" (7:53)
LFO - "LFO" (Leeds Warehouse mix) (5:20)
Alice D In Wonderland - "Time Problem" (Techno Speed Work) (6:51)
Review: Belgian label Music Man Records continues its deep dive into local club history with a standout 12" drawn from a wider retrospective on Destelbergen's legendary Boccaccio club. This release centres on the early house and techno that defined its Sundays-an alternative narrative to the better-known New Beat story. The A-side opens with Steve Poindexter's 'Computer Madness', all skeletal drum patterns and jacking minimalism, before UK crew Age Of Chance explode with 'Time's Up (Timeless)', a proto-rave anthem remixed into cut-and-paste chaos. On the flip, LFO's self-titled 'Leeds Warehouse Mix' drops like a techno blueprint-bleep-heavy, bold, and unmistakably northern. Closing the set is Alice D In Wonderland's 'Time Problem (Techno Speed Work)', a hyper, squiggly take on acid techno that feels like a high-speed trip through late-80s futurism. With selections curated by Olivier Pieters and Stefaan Vandenberghe, this 12" captures the rawness, friction, and thrill of a scene that still resonates across Europe's underground.

Bruno Pronsato - "Above The Laundrette" (Manieres Bizarres mix) (13:10)
Romeo Poirier - "Thalassocratie" (extended version) (5:33)
Memotone - "The Way In(Side)" (6:42)
Review: Legendary Finnish label Sahko returns with a curveball on its sub-label Puu, meaning wood or tree. While the three artists featured on this EP may seem like unlikely bedfellows, American minimal producer Bruno Pronsato, French fourth world explorer Romeo Poirier & British ambient producer Memotone, their sounds are united in a quest for the organic, the tropical & the gaps between genres. Bruno Pronsato's 'Above The Laundrette (Manieres Bizarres mix)' is an exploration of organic percussion, treading similar paths to percussionist Eli Keszler. The second track is a welcome extended version of 'Thalassocratie' from Poirier's excellent Hotel Naga LP. The pick of the three goes to Memotone's 'The Way In(side)' which sounds like a lost balearic cut from Jon Hassell's seminal Dream Theory In Malaya.

Review: Proper Monday Number is one of Brighton's most acclaimed electronic duo and here it teams Suzi Horn of cult DFA's Prinzhorn Dance School with producer Christoph Boseley. Their Deep Clean Your House EP packs five sharp, DIY dance-pop tracks into a tight 15 minutes of no filler, all fire heat for the 'floor. Mixing mid-2000s electro, bassline and a touch of nostalgia for 90s house vibes, it channels the gritty energy of your teenage bedroom's busted speakers. But this isn't just a throwback, it's a fresh, cynical-smashing blast of attitude and energy. Fun served up with a serious purpose that cannot fail to energise you to your core.

Review: An exceptional, almost entirely unreleased jazz-funk LP from Roland Haynes Jr., previously known only for a single 45 released in 1983 (included here). If you're thinking undiscovered James Mason, you're on the right track. This LP is huge, even by the highest standards. Until now, that rare single was the only material trace of Haynes and his band. However, Haynes meticulously documented his musical journey, recording both packed-out live gigs and studio sessions. The tracks on this release come directly from Haynes' personal archive, offering an incredible glimpse into his unreleased, carefully crafted studio work.

Review: Slowly over the years, Pachyman has whetted his dub reggae knife on a premium steel, reverse-engineering then rip-up-restarting the time-honoured techniques of legends King Tubby and Scientist, precisely piercing their sound with the pointed instruments of vintage gear and layer-caked bass. Another Place expands now on his vision, always returning to radical roots that otherwise often go unfairly unmentioned by dub historians - William Onyeabor's synthpop, YMO's new wave kooks, Basic Channel's ambient dub - all of which were contemporaries to the 70s sound. The result is a perfect ten of welling hertz-ology, from the studied 'Calor Ahora' to the simmering enveloper 'A.D.S.H.'

Review: Italian DJ and Producer Jo Paciello proves that full length album do very much still have a place int he modern world wit his superb debut on Groove Culture. The title of this one gives you an idea of what to expect - jazzy melodies and sophisticated house beats. He does so with a modern viewpoint but also plenty of reverence for the glory days of jazzy house. Trumpets, saxophones and guitars all feature here and embellish the drums with quality, meaningful layers of melody adn mood. As he merges the past and present, this richly textured work shines with improvisation and timeless deep house warmth.

Review: Leron Thomas, the Houston-born, New York-based musician behind Pan Amsterdam, has spent a life's career shearing genre boundaries; the rapper, jazz trumpeter and producer interprets a dreamlike audio-space where irreal textures intertwine, and his latest album Confines embraces this permuting sound by way of freer improvisations, merging sharp ideas with instinctive spontaneity. Pan An's offbeat, free-associative, streamy lyrics tackle race, identity, and pop culture gleeful insight, while shredder samples from gospel, jazz, and even the Grateful Dead pepper the mix with a swingeing MPC's hand. Also a tribute to his late father, Confines confides in the listener as a musical and spiritual rebirth.

Review: L.A. MC Pawz One links up with Dutch producer Robin Da Landlord for this gritty, no-gimmicks return to raw hip-hop. The duo met while touring Europe and dropped their first collab 'It's Like That,' which soon sparked the idea for a full project. What they have cooked up is a tightly woven album packed with sharp bars, boom-bap grit and a deep love for the golden era. Produced entirely by Robin, the album features legends like Prince Po, MED and VegaMonster. It's a record that keeps body and mind engaged with every passing beat and bar.

Review: It's a remarkable statistic that Payfone - the long-serving production partnership of Phil Passera and Jimmy Day - have not released an album before, despite building up a killer catalogue of singles over the last 12 years. The vinyl-only Lunch, then, is a genuinely significant release .- and, happily, a rather brilliant one too. Featuring an impressive roll-call of guest vocalists and musicians, it sees them deliver six excellent riffs on their analogue-rich, hybrid house/Balearic/nu-disco sound. The plentiful highlights include the dubbed-out, low-slung and atmospheric opener 'Movin' On', the infectious, spaced-out boogie of 'Joan of Arc' (whose chorus will be stuck in your head for days), sensual jazz-funk jam 'Spend The Night' and the warming, sun-soaked delight that is 'Pony Bar'.

Review: If you're like us you've probably listened to Seattle grunge legends Pearl Jam's Vitalogy repeatedly and love the songs but think what could take this experience to the next level and reinstill that adrenaline that you had when you played it the first half dozen times. Well, this special audio blu-ray version makes it more realistic and immersive - and give you closer listening experience than you'd probably get even at a gig. With tracks such as 'Corduroy' and 'Better Man' easily in their top ten tracks, Vitalogy is Pearl Jam on top form and offers a sweet alternative to the more frequently championed Vs and Ten, whilst being arguably just as strong.

Review: Hayden Pedigo has always defied expectations and conventions. In a world of instant gratification, his music is both immediately enthralling but only truly rewarding for the more patient and deep listener. He's fused to the very core of the instrumental acoustic guitar canon, and yet seems hellbent on putting out record after record of, frankly, incomparable music. In his own words, I'll Be Waving As You Walk Away is "a micro-dose psychedelic album. I wanted it to be this tangible feeling, as if somebody had cut up a tab of LSD and put on a Fahey record." The trip itself is largely thanks to the technical genius at work here, with six strings manipulated in such ways as you often feel entire chasms of melody are opening up for you to fall into, Alice style.

Here he back on the Tokyo label that's housed all his Fog material and flexing his deep command of house, all infused with his signature warmth. Classy deep house cuts like 'Red Morning' sit next to Chicago-flavoured stompers like 'Jack Out' and disco-filtered bangers like 'Dance To The Air' and he even flips the script with 80s-inspired funk on 'Night Driver' and the Balearic dreamscape 'Sun Moon Lake.' A true trip.

Again via sampling, and stylising in vintage neo-psych-tronic audio collage, Copia here muses on abundance and self-replication, reassembling fragments of sound into something sub-interconnected, rhizomatic. Emerging from her recent AV performance The Library of Babel, the album blends electronic textures with whimsical, often uncanny vocal moments, inlining contributions from Matmos, Ergo Phizmiz, Hearty White, Gwilly Edmondez, and others. Lyrics and melodies by Phizmiz act as a connective spine, while the project as a whole embraces an "exquisite corpse" approach, multitracks traded over oceans and timelines, forming a gaudily grotesque patchwork resistant to linearity. As always with Bennett's work, Copia blurs the borders of past, present and potential, offering a poignant meditation on creativity.

Review: Inspired by the ancient Chinese Twelve Ornaments - symbols steeped in mystic meaning - Aleksi Perala's latest album is a meditative and full-bodied journey. Using the healing and inspiring Colundi scales, Perala crafts a double album of ambient soundscapes that blend delicate Eastern melodies with rich harmonies. The music gracefully weaves across the stereo field to create a serene and captivating atmosphere. This collection is both beautiful and soothing and is all about giving yourself over to its tranquil depths and experiencing a unique fusion of tradition and ambient innovation.

Review: Far Out Recordings reissues a hidden Argentinian gem with this offering, the late Agustin Pereyra Lucena's elusive 1988 LP, now restored from the original tapes. A guitarist rooted in Brazilian tradition but shaped by European travel and political exile, Lucena channels both clarity and melancholy into his playing. 'Luces de Valeria' and 'Preparativos Maritimos' offer delicate phrasing and compositional grace, while his take on Baden Powell's 'Pequeno Vals' drifts with lyrical restraint. The interplay between flute, brushed drums and nylon-string guitar reveals a liquid sensibility-evident too on 'Tema Barroco' by long-time collaborator Guilhermo Reuter. Anchored in Buenos Aires but marked by a traveller's perspective, these pieces shift subtly from samba-inflected intimacy to a cooler, more spacious lyricism. Lucena's phrasing reflects his belief that proximity to water affects one's musical flow-an idea borne out here in every fluid turn and tide of this understated masterwork.

Review: Expanding To One is the third album from Phi-Psonics and is a serene meditation on community, connection and healing. Led by bassist Seth Ford-Young, the project captures the spirit of six live and intimate sessions recorded in Pasadena's Healing Force Of The Universe record store and the tracks, which were largely improvised, glide through soulful, spiritual jazz with warmth and clarity. Highlights like 'There's Still Hope' and 'Healing Time' showcase a rotating ensemble of LA's most sensitive players and they all create music that is both grounding and transcendent. Thoughtfully edited and deeply personal, this is the sort of record that cajoles you into a space of stillness, togetherness and quiet, essential reflection.

Review: Guided by bassist Seth Ford-Young, Expanding To One is the third album from Phi-Psonics, and it offers a gentle yet profound exploration of healing, unity and introspection. The record in fact emerges from six intimate, largely improvised sessions at Pasadena's Healing Force Of The Universe record store. The result is a flowing suite of spiritual jazz rich in tone and intention. Tracks like 'There's Still Hope' and 'Healing Time' highlight a fluid lineup of gifted LA musicians whose interplay feels both grounded and transcendent. Carefully shaped in post-production, the album invites listeners into a calm, reflective space where connection and presence take quiet precedence.
