Into The Dragon (remastered) CD

It's 30 years since Bomb The Bass gate crashed the UK singles chart with "Beat Dis", a seminal fusion of hip-hop sample culture, New York Freestyle grooves and Chicago house traits. To celebrate, Cherry Red has decided to reissue the outfit's 1988 debut album, Into The Dragon. Amazingly, the album has aged very well, and the production duo's cut-and-paste blends of heavy hip-hop breakbeats, electrofunk rhythms, cheeky melodic lifts (John Carpenter's "Escape From Precinct 13" gets the going over on "Megablast"), house references and early UK rap are still capable of raising the temperature on the dancefloor. The reissue also includes a number of tasty period remixes and bonus cuts, of which the original rap version of "Megablast" stands out.
