Review: Off the back of a remix 12" from Juliana Huxtable, Icelandic soul queen Bjork is back with another artist to remix her fine work for her very own One Little Indian label. Another relative newcomer - we're loving the fact that a name such as Bjork is getting new talent hot off the street to retouch her work - Rabit Naked has a go at "History Of Touches", and the results are simply stellar. The tune is a vast, beatless sway of morphed vocals, chilling pads and brooding sonics. If there was such a thing as neurofunk ambient, this would be close to it.

Review: Question: what's better than instrumental grime talent Bloom reworking Bjork? Answer: enlisting the Belfast producer to tackle two of the tracks from the Icelandic artist's LP Vulnicura. Along with the bent-sideways rendition of "Family" also issued on limited, etched 12" vinyl this week, Bloom has also gone to town on "Black Lake," deftly interweaving the solemn strings into a thrilling framework of unpredictable drums and laser like bassline surges. As ever Bjork's voice sounds quite perfect amidst this assault of futuristic sound.

Review: It's not easy being a Bjork completist these days, with One Little Indian electing to issue a raft of cutting edge remixes of the diminutive Icelandic artist as limited one-sided 12"s. As with the batch that surfaced over the summer months, you can't fault the A&R process behind this third and final round of Vulnicura remixes. Here we see Crazylegs and Gobstopper affiliate Bloom lend some weightless grime trickery and sonic dynamism to "Family" with the results sounding like something you want Mumdance and Logos to unleash deep into Sunday night at their Different Circles parties.

Review: And so Bjork's majestic remix collection continues to trickle onto our shelves and into your eardrums. The legendary leftfield pop singer / producer gives up her "Lionsong" tune for remix action from none other than Juliana Huxtable; the newcomer has only got a couple of cameo appearances to their name, but she's coming through string with this one. In essence, it's a techno tune - driven by fire kick drums and minimal sonics - but her soulful twists of vocals render it to be much more than that in the end. It's a soothing, delicate techno massage with a powerful energy.

Review: Off the back of her new Vulnicura LP, Bjork has already received the remix treatment from a number of artists, namely Lotic, Untold, and now Mica Levi. Unlike many of the other commissions, Mica's self-styled Kareokieijd transformation of "Lionsong" takes a much darker path, and can essentially be seen as an electro acoustic cover version. The track is vast and cinematic, cerebral and eye-opening, where strings gather momentum only to be engulfed in a sea of deep, luscious atmospherics. A fitting remix to Bjork's inimitable style.

Review: The infamous Bjork just never ceases to amaze us. After so many years of music-making, the Icelandic godmother of electronica has continuously reinvented her artistic persona, and this latest outing on the might One Little Indian is a clear sign of her freshness and cutting-edge. She's chosen Houston native Lotic to remix her recent "Notget" single, and the dude has most certainly come up with the goods. Keeping her voice almost intact - aside from huge swells of electronic effects - the Berlin-based producer allows slithering glitches and broken drones to weave in and out of the mix, almost sounding as if they're emanating from Bjork's own mouth. This is surely one to check, even for the Actress lovers!

Review: Texas club music icon Lotic continues Bjork's makeover on One Little Indian with another beautiful 12", cropped and packaged in a gorgeous silk-screened bag. Bjork's "Notget" had already been retuned by Lotic, but this time he returns to the turn with his Fromdeath version, jumping from solitary drones to broken shreds of power electronics, tribal drums and gun shots. It's a jagged, wayward affair for the more adventurous disc jockey, and one that will please both the floor shakers and the brain melters - this tune is only a shadow of its original self, and it comes as this week's top of the tips..!

Review: The sixth installment of Bjork's wide-ranging Biophilia remix project sees sound adventurer and new head of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop Matthew Herbert at the helm for three unique reworks. First up is his "Teutonic Plates mix" of "Mutual Core", which sees a barrage of dubstep-inspired bass buoying up Bjork's lithe vocals, while his "Pins & Needles mix" of "Sacrifice" sees a backdrop of prickly, glitchy drop-outs accompanying the lead vocals. Finally, his "Fever mix" of "Virus" sees him adopt a more stripped down electronica approach.

Review: One of several intriguing artists to be commissioned to rework music from Bjork's Vulnicura album, Hemlock boss Untold takes a novel approach on his Chroal mix of "Lionsong". Bolstered by additional vocal tones from the same choir that appeared on previous Bjork LP Biophilia, Untold seeks rhythmic inspiration from his own discography, specifically "Flexible". The track originally appeared as a single-sided 12" back in 2009, and it brims with the madcap energy of early Untold beats, all woodblock percussion and scuffed found sound snippets. It's an unlikely partnership of sounds, but the legacy of Bjork's distinctive voice atop edgy electronics makes the whole wild cocktail go down smooth.

Review: A fierce meeting of minds you may never have expected, but that makes total sense - the mighty Bjork crossing swords with Fever Ray in an exchange of remixes with blistering results. Iceland's foremost musical visionary is in full warrior mode as she tackles Fever Ray's "This Country Makes It Hard To Fuck", delivering a nightmarish techno jackhammer full of monolithic kicks and sheet metal scrapings. Then Bjork's "Features Creatures" gets two versions from Karin Dreijer - first the Fever Ray remix that pumps and locks in an otherworldly mechanism that wouldn't sound out of place on one of Bjork's Mark Bell-produced albums. Then comes a sprightly version from Dreijer's other project, The Knife, which bounds along at an urgent pace with a skippy rhythm section and plenty of hyphy synth vamps.

Review: Originally released in 2007, Bjork's Volta, and later named Voltaic, is considered to be one of the artist's greatest works, one which incorporates everything from African rhythms, industrial tones and even elements of hip-hop thanks to Timbaland's appearances on the LP. At the time of release, the album was and is still praised by critics, it spent a good 10 week's on Billboard's charts and explored another side to Bjork's many talents. If you haven't heard it yet, you have definitely missed out because it is truly magical.

Review: When is a remix album not a remix album? When it's creatively driven by Bjork. The wonderfully titled Bastards might be a collection of reversions from her 2011 album Biophilia but it's clear all artists have been specially considered for their job and worked hard to subvert their usual motifs; stretching from the warped techno twists of 16-Bit's take on "Hollow" to the ghostly acapella of These New Puritans remix of "Mutual Core", this is one bastard you want in your life.

Review: Icelandic music producer Bjork, who requires absolutely no introduction given her massive contribution to electronic pop music over the last twenty years, finally returns with her new album Vulnicura on One Little Indian Records. Although the LP represents her breakup with Matthew Barney, there are vivid rays of light nested among the more dreary-eyed vocals and melodies. As per usual with her work, there is a distinctive personal touch to her songs. This is most vividly characterised by the droning style of her singing, a sort of juxtaposition when combined to the music below it. Expect an intricate blend of sci-fi electronics, break-ridden power beats and of course, plenty of hard ambience. Bjork's ninth studio album is another winner. Review: Some 18 years after its' initial release, Bjork's superb Homogenic album gets a deserved vinyl reissue, this time on luscious green vinyl. The album, her third, remains one of the highlights of an impressive discography. It contains a number of firsts. For starters, it marks the first time that LFO's Mark Bell had worked with the Icelandic songstress, with the duo exploring a sound that mixes grandiose, classical instrumentation with fuzzy electronics and clanking IDM rhythms. This musical blend, and Bjork's superb vocal delivery and heartbreaking lyrics, combine to make some of her most alluring material, including "5 Years", "Bacholerette" and, of course, "All Is Full of Love".

Review: Depending on which reviews you read, Utopia is either Bjork's most impressive album for a long time, or an interesting but flawed one. Co-produced by Mute and XL artist Arca with occasional studio contributions from Rabit, the set was designed to be positive and dream-like in tone, with Bjork delivering some of her most romantic lyrics to date. Musically, it's every bit as bonkers and brilliant as you'd expect, with pastoral and classical instrumentation nestling side by side with 8-bit electronics, bowel-bothering sub-bass, folksy textures and wildlife field recordings. It should perhaps be seen as a partner piece to the notably dystopian Vulcinara (2015), offering a more blissful counterpoint to that album's bleak and intense mood.

Review: Following from the success of this year's Vulnicura LP, Iceland's Bjork has decided to release an acoustic companion made up of string-only reinterpretations; a more abstract and pensive piece, if you will. One Little Indian is the label, of course, but this time there are strictly no beats, and the only concrete sounds within it are the subtle and placid wails of Bjork's own voice. While it isn't truly a pop album, there is enough playfulness and charm to render it playable not only as a solitary piece of music, but also alongside other pieces...in an explorative DJ set, perhaps.
