Review: Is Wendy Carlos one of the most underrated and overlooked of the female synth pioneers? It probably depends who you ask, with the die hard archivists no doubt ready to stand up and scream "who doesn't remember, respect, and revere her?" Nevertheless, in terms of popular culture she hasn't received the same level of reappraisal as the likes of Delia Derbyshire in recent years, in the UK at least, although perhaps that's because Britain always loves celebrating British achievements.

In all honesty, Carlos is just as important as anyone who has ever laid a finger on a synthesizer. Her legacy includes helping develop the benchmark setting Moog, alongside three truly unforgettable and iconic soundtracks. The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, and finally Tron, the latter - this - forsaking omnipresent tension and sense of impending doom, and menacing, snarling electronic takes on classical overtures, for something more in keeping with a Disney movie - fantastical, sweeping, and emotionally charged.

Review: J Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive will likely go down in history as one of 2010s hip-hop's most emotive albums. Through various forces, we'd contend it found itself on the iPods of anyone so much as remotely interested in exploring hip-hop beyond the pales of Kendrick Lamar, Drake or Eminem. It put Cole on the map for many young listeners: the virginity-loss classic 'Love Yourz' is the obvious go-to hit, but it doesn't represent the rest of the album, which mostly falls into the category of gushing and nostalgic. '03 Adolescence' and 'Apparently' are our highlights, with Cole indulging emotive jazz-piano interludes and pop-rap production tropes, with his rhymes always circling back to the album's core subject matters: home, childhood, wrong paths, memories.

Review: Few people can be said to be a true hip-hop head lest they've heard 2014 Forest Hills Drive by J. Cole. The heartfelt, orchestrally-tempered album was released way back in 2014 (duh) and hears the rapper sing and speak eloquently of his bittersweet coming-of-age - telling many stories of his first loves, his adolescent angst, and his intentional avoidance of the wrong paths. Now lovingly reissued just in time for its 10th Anniversary, we're glad to hear the LP that helped establish Cole's romantic, reminiscent side won't stay out of the limelight.

Review: The Courteeners mark a decade and a half since their landmark debut album St Jude with this new reissue across several different formats. As well as including all the original tracks from the album as it was back then, this version also has a brand new single 'It'll Take More Than A Weekend Away To Fix This Mess'. The tune was actually written at the same time as the album and was recently recorded in Manchester. The album hit number four in the album charts back in 2008 and contained three Top 40 singles, 'Not Nineteen Forever,' 'What Took You So Long?' and 'No You Didn't, No You Don't.'

Review: St. Jude is known as the Christian patron saint of lost causes, which is ironic, because The Courteeners' musical career over the years has been anything but. This reissue celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the Mancunian band's debut album, and features an exclusive crock of more recent recordings made in L.A. Festival-ready indie pop is clearly set to make a comeback.

Review: 30th Anniversary Edition of the Cure's best-selling, Grammy-nominated album 'WISH.' This deluxe 45 track edition - compiled by Robert Smith - features 24 previously unreleased tracks & 4 new to CD tracks across three discs. And that's not to mention their four tracks that appeared exclusively on the mail-order cassette 'Lost Wishes', released in 1993, which have never appeared on CD or digitally, the previously unreleased song 'A Wendy Band', a previously unheard mix of the epic fan favourite 'From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea', five rare 12" mixes, and an unheard live version of 'End' from Paris Bercy in October 1992.

Review: The Cure have a lot of iconic moments from throughout their career, starting with the angular goth rock of their early years right through to their long-standing position as headline treasures of British alternative music. Originally released in 1992, Wish marked their move towards a poppier sound, and 30 years on it still ranks as their most successful album to date. This reissue gives Wish the pomp and ceremony it deserves, letting perennial classics like 'Friday I'm In Love' shine anew for lifelong fans and newcomers alike.
