HDWIDU - "Une Nuit A Paris" (4:53)
NILS - "Mad Game" (5:35)
NUTS - "Half On A Room" (4:47)
SWEELY - "Lil' Drama" (5:05)
Review: Fresh French label Attention Spin! flaunts the talents of the Parisian underground in its freshest incarnation. Currently turning their focus towards cosmic house music with hints of Italo and new beat, as well as aiming to prioritize dance music that uses vocals as an instrument, their first release here is a four-track EP from rising star DJ Dawidu. The likes of 'Une Nuit A Paris' and 'Mad Game' detail the wilder, undergrounder ends of after-hours nightlife in the Capitale de la Mode. 'Half On A Room', meanwhile, spans dub- and hip-house, while 'Lil'Drama' is the most vocal and catwalk-worthy of the bunch.

Minimal House/Tech House
Kesh Loi - "Sunshine Riddim" (6:28)
CESM - "Without Party There Is No Paradise" (6:59)
Paperkraft - "No Extasies" (6:15)
Max Stedeford - "Cutz" (5:57)
Lemonphase - "Clutture Soft" (7:06)
Katia Curie & Nizar Sarakbi - "Go & Get It" (5:51)
Review: Mindhelmet releases always tend to cover plenty of ground and offer something for all heads. This 15th such outing is no different and has six stylish sounds across one vital 12". Kesh Loi opens with the brightly coloured and neon tech house party starter 'Sunshine Riddim' then CESM gets more direct with 'Without Party There Is No Paradise.' Elsewhere Max Stedeford's 'Cutz' is an old school flavoured cut with bleeps and blips and breakbeat laced grooves. Lemonphase's 'Clutture Soft' ups the ante with more punchy tech drums and Katia Curie & Nizar Sarakbi shut down with the twitchy, percolating tech funk of 'Go & Get It.'

Review: Picture a utopian twist on Akira, and you might land close to Nick Nikolov's vision for his NKLV project. With a nod to classic house elements, like bright piano riffs, he blends in the finely detailed sound design of IDM and ambient, adding a playful, French touch-inspired groove. Tracks like 'Speak to Me' and 'No More' dive straight into expressive, textured soundscapes, while the title cut 'Inbetween' radiates with serotonin-charged energy. Mixing the quirky beats of Basement Jaxx with KiNK's raw pulse, Nikolov crafts an escape filled with soul, spontaneity and unexpected joy.

The Love Is EP
Cat: KF 310. Rel: 14 Aug 24

UK Hardcore
Give A Little Love (6:56)
Love Is The Message (5:34)
Pedro Visits Romford (4:51)
Review: UK hardcore masters Kniteforce keep the rave alive with another excellent throwback EP, this time from Nookie. It has all the authentic hallmarks of a proper old school offering but with great modern production. 'Give A Little Love' is a pain banger with bristling breakbeats and no shortage of energy, then 'Love Is The Message' douses you in fizzy chords and dusty drum breaks that dart up and down and are run through with yelping vocal stabs. 'Pedro Visits Romford' shuts down with bright chords refracting about the mix next to more chopped-up vocals.
