Review: Mannheim minimal house imprint Sukhumvit (yes they're not actually Thai!) are back with another edition of their various artist EPs in the form of SOI 07. Acanalar are UK based DJ's/producers Benjamin Clarke and Connor Hillery who serve up the rolling and reductionist groove of "Project0009" on the A side, followed by newcomers Lost.Act & Mishel A with the stripped back and swinging tech house of "Lab". On the flip is Argentinian producer in Berlin Alexis Cabrera with the trippy afterhour mini-funk of "Escaramuzas" and fellow countryman Nektar Agu (Tied/The Untold Stories) with "Neosjetan".

Review: Nail is one of UK house music's most vital contributors. His raw sound pioneered a new style of tech house in the 90s and here he reappears under a different alias, AM Vibe. 'Vibe With Me' kicks off with nice loose drums and perc and jazzy keys adding the warmth and soul. 'I'm So High' brings some loopy and filtered fun and phased vocals for a sleazy feel, then 'Dried Fruit' gets more upbeat with lush synth swirls and effortlessly cool drums and rich r&b vocal samples. 'Powder' closes out with some thumping kicks and more tender vocal stabs. As always, this is brilliantly heartfelt and effective tackle from Nail.

Review: Gabriel Ananda is back. The German tech house legend was most popular in the mid noughties with his trippy blend of minimal groove, made most popular by the anthem "Suessholz" which went to the top of the German DJ charts. It was followed by another hit in 2005 titled '"hre Persoenliche Gluecksmelodie" and of course the totally mental "Doppelwhipper" in 2006. In 2008, Gabriel founded his own record label, Basmati. Here he can add another milestone to a so far successful career, in the form of a release for UK powerhouse Bedrock. He teams up with label head honcho John Digweed (and his right hand man Nick Muir) on "Tachyon Dream", a buzzy and bustling progressive house journey featuring a truly epic use of melody that will hypnotise you into submission. The rework on the flip sees the trio deliver a more powerful and straight-ahead version, with more powerful rhythm arrangements and a faster tempo.

Review: Like its five predecessors, the sixth volume in the ongoing Nuances de Nuit series gathers together club-focused cuts from a quartet of producers, all of which could be considered rising stars of the underground tech-house scene. Sometime Subsequent contributor James Andrew kicks off proceedings with 'Reality Call', a bumping, elasticated bounce through spacey and swinging tech-house territory, before Nathan Pinder peppers a driving groove with deep space sounds and mid '90s US garage chords on 'Stutter'. Over on the reverse, The Trip offers up a tough, driving and melodic workout ('Big Trouble'), while Tip Top steals the show via the bleeping dub house hypnotism of 'Control Alt Defeat', where swelling pads, deep sub-bass and delay-laden electronics catch the ear.
