Review: From the grave, Prince is serving up a banger just in time for Christmas fun this year in the form of a one-sided 12" on Warner. It found him working with his trusty New Power Generation and features the 'damn near 10 min' mix of the song 'Gett Off' which is sure to fire up any dancefloor. It was originally a single - also served up as a one-sider - to promote Prince's new band with a cover that boldly declared that "Nothing can stop Prince and the New Power Generation" and was only issued on 1500 copies, so this is a great treat for fans to own all these years later.

Review: Pink Floyd's seminal album A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was originally released in 1987 but later record an update and remix by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson for The Later Years Box Set. Some of the original keyboard parts were put back in and new drum tracks were recorded for the project and thus it is said that the band's original creative balance was restored. This version was mixed in 2019 from original master tapes and has been pressed to heavyweight 180g vinyl at half speed. A new 28-page booklet is also included to make this an absolute must for collectors.

Review: Prolific Pink Floyd record producer and engineer James Guthrie once again has his 2018 remix album for the band's 'Animals' reissued, this time on limited LP wax. A five-piece meditation on Floyd's penchant for animalism, Guthrie's reinterpretation yanks the Orwellian structure and themes of the original album and hurls them back into an electronic prog rock prayer, with many of the new versions impressively breaching 10 minutes. In true Floyd fashion, this is window-closed, record-sleeves-on-the-floor, bong-hitting stuff, but with an extra Guthriean darkness lended to it. Clock the pig oinks littering the mix too.

Review: In the post-Syd Barrett years, Pink Floyd spread their sound in a number of directions before settling on the pomp and splendour of Dark Side Of The Moon et al. Atom Heart Mother - their fifth record - finds them tinkering with sonic collage and suite-based songwriting executed with the cinematic scope and inescapable Britishness their music has always possessed. It's an album beloved by the Floyd faithful, and now it's being released as a Special Edition with the original album remastered and a Blu-Ray disc featuring the title track performed live at Hakone Aphrodite in 1971 and additional behind the scenes documentary footage. Throw in a 60-page booklet for good measure and you've got yourself a must-grab piece of Floyd archival material.

Review: The Blu-Ray version of the 2018 remix of Pink Floyd's Animals breathes new life into a classic album, addressing previous issues with the original mix and delivering a significantly improved sonic experience. This reimagined version allows the details to emerge more clearly, giving each instrument ample room to shine. For listeners familiar with earlier editions, it's akin to a revelation, as if something previously clogged in their ears has suddenly cleared. While Animals was released during the heyday of punk rock, its sarcastic and ironic social commentary aligns more with punk's ethos than with traditional progressive rock. However, musically, the album remains a pinnacle of Pink Floyd's progressive sound. David Gilmour's guitar work is particularly notable, with standout moments like the mesmerizing solo on 'Dogs.' Review: First released in 1992 on CD only, this comprehensive compilation of The Pogues' mid-career set of highlights is not your usual career retrospective. Rather than emphasising their most obvious tunes, this record specifically concerned the period 1984-1990, in which time the Anglo-Irish folk, rock and pop band delivered their enduring cover of Rolling Stones' 'Honky Tonk Woman', as well as such prime-cut originals as 'Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah', 'The Sunny Side Of The Street', 'Dark Streets Of London' and more. Now released on limited edition green vinyl for the first time ever, you vinyl preferrers too may sing and swing with this most raucous of cross-Channel belligerent bands, notably zooming back largely to the period before their drunken Christmas smash 'Fairytale Of New York' came to be.

Review: The Pogues' Red Roses For Me remains a seminal debut, being a shinning light during the post-Thatcher London with its energetic fusion of traditional melodies and punk fervor. Review: Prince is a name that needs no introduction. The Vault ... Old Friends 4 Sale was originally released in 1999 , a full three years after being submitted to Warner Bros in 1996. Thus, it was recorded in 1994 and 1995 which in many fans' eyes, follows some of the best Prince work when he was known as the symbol. Stylistically, the album has Prince exploring more jazz elements while still remaining clearly a Prince album. Perhaps due to Prince not doing a world tour to support the album and lack of radio friendly singles, the album wasn't the chart success that the label hoped for but to fans it holds a special place in their Prince discography.

Review: A series of Prince albums are being reissued by Warner, including this one from 1994. By then the legendary funk artist's relationship with his label was hugely stringed and he had recently change his name, for the first of several times to [Love Symbol]. This album was one of a number that the Purple One wrote in a short space of time in order to free himself from his contract with the major label. Despite those circumstances, it is still a standout record that managed to get to Number One in the UK despite a lack of support from Prince himself upon release.

Review: NPG Records and Paisley Park Enterprises, in partnership with Warner Records, are pleased to announce the release of a brand-new audiophile Blu-ray featuring 2024's Dolby Atmos mix of Prince and the Revolution's iconic 1984 album, Purple Rain, as well as Prince's original 1984 stereo mix, in high-definition 24bit / 96kHz audio.

Prince shattered all expectations and made music history when he released the album Purple Rain, followed by the hit movie of the same name weeks later. The 9-track LP went on to win two Grammy awards ("Best Rock Performance by a Group" & "Best Album of Original Score Written For A Motion Picture"), two American Music Awards, a Brit Award, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score. In 2012 the Library of Congress added the album to the National Recording Registry, which only accepts sound recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically important, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States." Purple Rain spent 24 weeks at #1 on the Billboard album charts, sold over 25 million copies worldwide, and appears on countless 'Best Of' polls, most recently achieving the #4 spot on Apple Music's Top 100 Albums Of All Time.

The 2024 Atmos presentation of Purple Rain featured on this Blu-Ray, was meticulously mixed from the original multi-track master tapes by Prince's protege and Best Engineered Grammy nominee Chris James. It was released via all participating Digital Service Providers on June 21, 2024.
