Review: ***B-STOCK: Creasing to corner of outer sleeve but otherwise in excellent condition***

Chrystabell and David Lynch's album Cellophane Memories emerges from a visionary encounter Lynch had, translating light and voice into a collection of ethereal tracks. This collaboration dives into fairytale forests, mountain peaks, and crepuscular highways, creating an atmospheric journey through landscapes of loneliness and romance. The album is a sonorous exploration of these sublime settings, enveloping listeners in a supernatural experience of colors, weather, and breath. The songs present a fluidity of time, where characters are sketched in the ephemeral moments of daily dramas. Chrystabell's vocals emerge, dissolve, and loop, creating layers of harmony and history, evoking both the presence and absence within each note. Lynch's orchestral arrangements, along with late composer Angelo Badalamenti's contributions, weave together strings, guitar glissandi, and reverb, crafting melodies that suspend time and capture the essence of a first kiss. Cellophane Memories invites listeners to ponder the nature of mystery, without providing definitive answers. The album's music embodies the transient beauty of departures and returns, landscapes and atmospheres and the intricate dance of time and memory. It radiates a distant light from within its darkness, offering a profound listening experience. This vinyl release is a great package to experience the enduring and enigmatic creative partnership between Chrystabell and David Lynch.

Review: Cellophane Memories originates from a vision David Lynch had during a nighttime forest walk where a bright light transformed into Chrystabell's voice and revealed a secret. This collaboration between them blends mystical elements of light and sound, day and night, creating a lush, otherworldly atmosphere. The album explores themes of solitude and romance through songs set in fantastical landscapes like enchanted forests, mountain peaks and twilight highways. Characters in their music navigate ephemeral moments of despair and love, with time appearing fluid and elusive. Their sound, which is enriched by Angelo Badalamenti's orchestral arrangements, invites listeners into a realm where mystery and beauty intertwine.

Review: David Lynch and Chrystabell's collaboration on the album Cellophane Memories unfolds as a haunting journey into Lynch's surreal musical realm. Directed by Lynch himself, the music video for 'Sublime Eternal Love' sets the stage with Chrystabell's layered vocals, weaving a tapestry of ambient passion. The album, slated for release from Sacred Bones Records, continues to intrigue with its latest single 'The Answers to the Questions,' blending muffled beats and deep guitar tones under Lynch's lyricism of dramatic romance. Lynch's experimental approach to production, described as "passionately ambient" by critics, layers Chrystabell's vocals in an eccentric yet captivating manner. The duo's creative process, marked by spontaneous lyricism and Chrystabell's engineering finesse, yielded ten tracks ranging from the reverb-laden 'Two Lovers Kiss' to the introspective 'Reflections in a Blade.' Their collaboration spans decades, rooted in a shared vision that embraces musical accidents and experimentation to conjure a unique sonic beauty. As the release date approaches, Lynch contemplates additional visual accompaniments, underscoring his deep connection between music and imagery. For fans of Lynch's cinematic ethos and Chrystabell's ethereal vocals, Cellophane Memories promises a profound exploration of love, dreams, and the enigmatic allure of their creative partnership.

Ghost Of Love (5:26)
Imaginary Girl (4:14)
Review: David Lynch's 'Ghost of Love' backed with 'Imaginary Girl' has previously only been released via CD single way back in 2006. Now it finally lands on vinyl for the first time as a way of marking the re-release of INLAND EMPIRE. It was born from internet-bound experimenting and turned into yet another fine mimic work in the man's great canon. It featured an increasing number of his own solo musical compositions, all of which were freeform and without restraint. Now you can own two of them on this tasty 45 courtesy of Sacred Bones.

Pinky's Dream (Trentemoller remix)
Pinky's Dream (Visionquest Velvet Curtain remix)
Review: The opening track from Lynch's mesmerising 2011 album gets the remix treatment from two very well considered producers; both of which have really highlighted the track's strengths in two vastly different ways. Trentemoller's up first and, as you'd expect, takes us head first into a swampy, rocky psychedelic groove that fuzzes and flickers with 50 shades of distortion and funk. Troxler et al's Visionquest retain this textured hypnosis while taking things deeper again thanks to haunted echoed voice samples and a deep, throbbing two note bassline.
