Review: This Record Store Day 2025 exclusive marks the vinyl debut of First Love, Last Rites-the 1997 indie film soundtrack composed by D.C. alt-rock band Shudder To Think. Review: Shudder To Think's journey began in 1986 in Glover Park, Washington DC, with a lineup change leading to the inclusion of singer Craig Wedren. This LP showcases their early sound, with Side-1 featuring five tracks from one of their initial recording sessions, previously only available on demo tapes. Side B includes four tracks from their first 7" release, the 'It Was Arson EP,' along with a version of 'Take The Child' from the same session. These recordings capture the band in their formative years, exploring new territory and hinting at the unique sound that would define their later work. It's a fascinating glimpse into the early evolution of a band known for their everchanging sound and innovative approach to music.
