Review: Ben Chasny, the guitarist and boundary-breaker who has found considerable renown both with this solo project and his work in psych-seers Comets On Fire, has traversed into a variety of genres with Six Organs Of Admittance, yet 'Hexadic' might be his most audacious album yet. Using a chance-based system Chasny came up with himself - the 'Hexadic' method indeed - he has come up with a bracing and genuinely avant-garde collision of speaker-shredding psych-noise and free jazz abstraction that more than carries out his mission statement of replacing predictability with indeterminacy. Fans of Sonny Sharrock, Sunn O))) and Mainliner will find much to rejoice in here.
