Effects pedals

There are thousands of effects pedals on offer, with something to suit every budget and every sound. Effects pedals – sometimes called stomp boxes or FX – were originally targeted at guitar players, but now there are options for everyone, including pedals designed specifically for bass guitars, synths and vocals. Old-school effects pedals were typically simple analogue effects like distortion, overdrive, fuzz, wah and flangers. Modern pedals might also include digital processing, unlocking complex reverbs, delays, loopers and modulation effects like chorus. Electronic producers should look out for pedals which can handle line-level signals, making it easier to hook up synthesisers, modular synths, drum machines, samplers and other pro studio equipment. Some pedals even offer stereo inputs and outputs, meaning you can use them on true stereo signals. Whether you’re looking for a cheap, high-quality distortion or a boutique multi-effects unit, there’s something for everyone.

EarthQuaker Four To One Mixer Pedal
Cat: 1093253 Rel: 02 Jun 25

Designed in tandem with EarthQuaker Device's 1 to 4 splitter, combine 4 signals into 1 in your effects chain with this pedal.
Notes: The Four to One Mixer is the final docking station for all of your diverging sonic journeys! A simple and compact 4 channel mixer with independent level controls and selectable phase for each channel. This was primarily designed to be used with the One to Four Splitter to create 4 parallel signal paths, but it can be used just about anywhere you need to mix four different sources into a single output with your unique sound!

This high headroom device features a high 1 M Ohm input impedance and a low 100 ohm output impedance ensuring all signals maintain their sonic integrity throughout their journey, even on long cable runs. The high headroom input impedance of this device allows it to accept a variety of instruments without distortion or clipping. This was built to handle just about anything, including guitars, basses, synthesizers, drum machines, and more!

Phase selector switches for each channel will make sure to correct any issues you might have from mixing multiple different signals with opposing polarities. Sometimes mixes can sound out-of-phase, leaving the resulting signal sounding thin or tinnier. Adjusting the Phase on the Four to One Mixer will help you avoid these issues. When used in conjunction with the Four to One Splitter or the Flexi Loops, you can create wild parallel signal paths at the flip of a switch! Use it to mix 4 instruments into one amp! Run four synths into a single channel! Put the whole band through your wall of amps! The possibilities are still nearly endless.

Phase: Use this to select the output phase of the channel. Sometimes other pedals and various instruments will invert the phase of the signal which causes major problems when mixing with other non-inverted signals. If you have a signal that is inverted, flip the phase switch to "-" and the polarity will be corrected. In most cases this switch should stay in the "+" position.

Level: Adjusts the output volume of the channel.

Power

This device takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. EQD always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!

Diamond Boost/EQ Effects Pedal
Diamond Boost/EQ Effects Pedal (dynamics effects pedal)
Cat: 1090059 Rel: 03 Jun 25

Booster and EQ pedal designed as a "compression-less" version of the Diamond Compressor.
Notes: The concept for Diamond Pedals' Boost/EQ began in the early 2000s, with a request for a 'compression-less' version of the famed Diamond Compressor - combining a clean boost circuit with the Compressor's Tilt EQ.

Nearly 20 years after the resulting original pedal's launch, we've re-imagined this idea on the same platform as the Comp/EQ. Introducing the next-generation Diamond Boost/EQ. This versatile, low-noise pedal delivers a punchy, dynamic sound that's ideal for any set-up

Taking the lively, high-fidelity gain stages of the Comp/EQ, the Boost/EQ offers plenty of punch while maintaining clarity and transparency. While the Tilt and Mid controls give you complete freedom to sculpt your tone. Need more sparkle? Dial it in with the Tilt knob. Looking for a midrange boost to cut through your solos? The Mid control has you covered. Want to make your Marshall tone a bit more Fenderesque? It's all possible with Diamond's Boost/EQ.

In addition, the Boost/EQ features a second mode that provides a low-gain overdrive - transparent, yet full of character. This makes the Boost/EQ the ultimate Swiss Army knife for your pedalboard, combining clean boost, tone shaping and overdrive, into one powerful and versatile pedal.

The Boost/EO offers 2 distinct modes of operation. The first is a clean boost mode designed to increase the output of your signal enabling you to beef-up low-output pickups, drive tube amps and dirt pedals for increased sustain and saturation or simply have your solos jump out in the mix.

Set to the OD mode, the gain structure of the pedal is modified and soft clipping diodes are added to the circuit. This provides smooth, transparent, musical distortion that ranges from just a touch of hair and harmonic overtones, to a nice low to mid gain overdrive. Depending on where your Boost/EO is placed in your signal chain, it will either deliver an increase in volume or distortion/saturation. Place it at the end of your pedal chain or in an amp's series FX loop for a volume boost. Put it in front of your drives and fuzzes for more gain and distortion.
