If you're not familiar with Vladimir Karpov then take it from us, you're destined to grow pretty close to the Russian producer in the near future. His work is up there with some of the most adventurous and accomplished modern synth fare you're likely to come across, with some even daring to compare him to the likes of Vangelis. We know - that's a huge claim - but given everything he has made up to this point we can also see where people are coming from.
Anciente is a two-track appetiser of what we mean. It's deep and enthralling, luring you in with a sense of depth and timbre that's all about breaking down walls between stylistic themes, creating abstract sound art that keeps unfolding to offer new sonic perspectives. With each piece running for around 20-minutes, these are tunes to truly get lost in.
