Acid Jerks is a project from Oliver $ and Stefan Braatz which celebrates everything we love about vintage house music. Following recent drops on Nu Groove and Refuge Recordings, the duo make their way to German label Flaneurecordings with some precision tooled jackers that will have seasoned heads wondering if they're hearing an undiscovered Chicago gem or something from the new school. 'Utopia Vision' is the most feel-good of the lot with its soaring string stabs and undulating piano chords, while 'Instant' creates a raw, punchy mood for the real dancers to get creative with. 'The Catalyst' plus some classic Mr Fingers-inspired moves, and 'Narcotic Illusion' completes the set in a grubby, sweaty mode that echoes K Alexi Shelby at his steamiest.
