Lyree is a freshly minted label from Berlin, helmed by Italian DJ and part-time poet Valerio Polani. The imprint's first missive is quietly impressive all told, with Polari offering up a quartet of cuts from like-minded producers. Conrad Van Orton kicks things off with "Due Di Marzo", a distinctively rugged, raw-sounding and industrial inspired techno number reminiscent of Lory D's brand of mangled madness, before Norbak weighs in with the thunderous drums and throbbing metallic sounds of "Coping Strategies". VSK's "Blue Methylene" is a frankly frightening and foreboding strut through warped and mind-mangling late-night techno, while Yanamaste's "LSD" is the techno equivalent of having a bad trip while speeding through the pitch-black German countryside.
