Fly Away (remixes) vinyl

Daphni's 'Fly Away', a piano-powered, radio-friendly blast of cheeky house nostalgia, was not only one of Caribou man Dan Snaith's most instantly accessible productions to date, but also one that felt like it needed extended club rubs. Three years after the original featured on the popular Cherry album, hired remixer Deetron has finally delivered them. His EP-opening 'main mix' turns the track into the hands-in-the-air peak-time anthem it should always have been, foregrounding Snaith's infectious piano stabs and colourful electronics alongside a typically surging, techno-adjacent house groove and warped bass. The latter element comes to the fore on the more rugged, dancefloor dub style 'Drum & Bass Remix' (not an actual d&b take, despite the title), while the gorgeous and self-explanatory 'beatless' mix completes a fine package.
