The Vulture vinyl

The long-running Galaxy Sound Co imprint has been responsible for some superb re-edits over the years, most of which are pleasingly purist in tone (I.E they're rearrangements with a few added effects but no needless new beats or cheap trickery). Their latest double-header of edits fits in this category and come courtesy of Thelonious Beats. A-side "The Vulture" is a fine chunk of string-laden Blaxploitation-era dancefloor soul that wisely loops up the drum breaks from their fine source track before introducing the music and vocals. Side B's "Get Together" is given a "Gospel Time Edit", with sweet group harmony vocals and an eyes-closed lead vocal rising above Billy Preston style organ and a jazzy funk-soul backing track.
