Some eight years after the first volume of the Supafunkanova series got disco and boogie DJs in a spin, Joey Negro and Sean P have decided to put together a follow-up. Like the first instalment - an essential set of little-known funk jams from the disco, boogie and P-funk era - Supafunkanova Vol 2 is full of high grade, little-known material. If anything, the selections are deeper than those on the predecessor; it's unlikely that many will have previously come across the sparkling, bongo-laden synth-funk of Stimulus' "Super Stimulus", Nice & Tight Band's hustlin' disco-funk party jam "Let's Get High (On The Music)" or Brenda Harris's low-slung "Making Love Will Keep You Fit" (a throwaway piece of advice that remains as true as ever).
