Way back in 1978, Italian percussionist Lino Capra Vaccina released his debut album, a brilliant but largely ignored set of new age influenced workouts - think chiming masterpieces, dark, African-influenced ambience, Steve Reich style minimalist compositions and Eno-esque soundscapes - that has since gone on to become a must-have amongst ambient inspired record collectors. Here the album gets the reissue treatment, which should please those who haven't got the money to pay the high prices that original copies now demand online. The percussionist went on to compose and produce countless other solo albums, but none are quite as magical and on-point as the peerless Antico Adagia. Grab a copy while you still can.
