William Hale, aka Little Beaver, was one of the key acts on Henry Stone's Miami-based Cat Records back in the 70s. He may be a cult concern, but his keen, funky style is as infectious now as it was back when it was recorded. The two tracks on this 7" are taken from his 1976 album When Was The Last Time, leading in with the dreamy instrumental "We Three". It's a cool and deadly groove, in stark contrast to the direct and breezy soul strutter "Listen To My Heartbeat" which surges along like a Motown classic.
