The sneaky, unofficial Balearica series is appealing for both seasoned Balearic DJ and newcomers to the sound, featuring as it does a range of well-known classics, hard-to-find gems and overlooked cuts. There's plenty to tickle the fancy on this 19th instalment, from the brilliantly hazy and evocative instrumental of Plastic Bertrand's 1982 slow-mo AOR disco gem "Stop Ou Encore", to the charity shop excellence of Joanna Law's much-sampled "First Time Ever" (here in the Shoom-friendly Bumpy Mix form). Better still are Marcos Valle's 1983 Brazilian jazz-funk gem "Estrelar" and Romilie Singh's sought-after "Dancing To Forget", a woozy chunk of mid-80s dub-pop that's the epitome of Balearic.
