By the time he put out this expansive collection in 2007, Ricardo Villalobos was already a cult hero. His second album Alcachofa was an underground smash that introduced us all to a brand new take on minimal, and he had already laid down the blueprint for super mega long tunes with his epic 15 minute plus Fizheuer Zieheuer in 2006. This second reissue clears up some of the quality issues with the first and means all seven of the idiosyncratic tunes shine. They are string, stripped back by dynamic techno grooves with Latin percussion and fizzing static, tripped out sine waves and modulated synth patterns that will never be bettered.
