Hot on the heels of his excellent debut release for the Tasteful Nudes label, Franco-American producer Royer resurfaces with the Skokie Intruder EP, an equally worthy inaugural transmission from the Material Image label. As with that debut, the three tracks on the Skokie Intruder EP really belie Royer's apparent lack of production experience, with a mastery of groove, sample and texture shown across all his work. Fans of Anthony Naples work for TTT will gravitate towards "Before Trish" in particular, which playfully toys around with a central hazy string motif amidst some taut drum sounds. Do check the foggily psychedelic remix of "Sunday Yellow" by Independence Ave Orchestra Sermon too as it turns out it's the work of Mr Huerco S!
