The Mango Hill sub-label Double Aside Records brings together pan-American talents The Black Dove from Miami, Florida, and Tony From The Bronx, New York, on this raw 45rpm single. There are strong James Brown vibes on this one with The Black Dove' 'I'm Telling' being a deep cut, soul infused roller. The drums are scintillating, the organ stabs bring a churchy feel and the yelling vocals are pure fire. On the flip is a big 60s swinger from Tony From The Bronx. 'Esperanza' hints at the bygone boogaloo era with a classic vocal refrain of love me, love me not. Great stuff.
