Having been responsible for the inaugural release on Reincarnations way back in 2008, our favourite cosmopolitan house duo Tokyo Black Star return to the imprint for a double dose of deep set analogue business. The Slam Jam EP is the duo's dedication to Volcov and the Slam Jam family, and will delight fans of the Tokyo Black Star output on SK/Innervisions. There's a dusty sheen to the opening moments "Sotto Marino" as off kilter drums are slowly implemented amidst the hazy backdrop of pads. A deft swerve into twinkling chords and heavenly keys which act as the prelude to a lovely chugging analogue arpeggio which glides as the track ascends to its finale. Flipside endeavour "Black Box" brings the rowdiness, splaying a wormhole like acid line around rough beats that constantly threaten to break out into jerking, jacking mayhem. Big tip!
