Few crate-digging DJs are more qualified to contribute to People Must Jam's Collector's Cuts re-edit series than dusty-fingered Frenchman Julien "Waxist" Minarro. Here the Lyon based producer serves of a quartet of killer interpretations of some of the many unheralded gems nestling in his vast collection. He begins with the synth bass-propelled, horn-heavy boogie brilliance of "Grateful", before dancing into disco-funk territory via the suitably heavyweight "Mafia". Over on the B-side, Minarro sprints off in a pleasingly overblown disco direction via the wonderfully cheery "Happy Days", before returning to boogie pastures on the rubbery, horn-totin' goodness of superb closer "Hold Tight".
