Yeah Ghost (Bonus Edition) CD

Although they've continued to offer up occasional EPs and singles, it's been 13 years since the release of the last full-length excursion from popular downtempo duo Zero 7. While we wait for them to make a new one, this expanded reissue of 2009 set Yeah Ghost - featuring a trio of rare and previously unreleased cuts - is well worth a listen. The album itself is arguably the breeziest in their catalogue, with funkier and fuzzier outings (see 'Mr McGee' and the post-punk influenced indie-funk of 'Everything Up (Zizou)' being accompanied by the band's usually slick, expansive, soft-focus downtempo fare. The bonus material includes a couple of genuine gems: the clicking, atmospheric, Burial-influenced bliss of 'E Sqwers (Demo)' and the spaced-out, dubstep-informed 'Ghost Symbol (Kling Version)'.
