Notes: This is a variant of the standard red/black racks for AE modular with wooden front and sides.

Same as with the standard cases, via a joint kit (not included) another case of this width (either one-row or two-row, standard or wooden type) can be attached at a free angle; the bus is connected via a short connector cable between both cases.

The sides, front and back are made of real-wood veneer covered MDF.

Notes: The uBASE-QS 2 module is the carrier (or BASE) for four micro modules and explicitly designed for use in the QUICKSWAP CASEs. This carrier module can be plugged into the QS case as any other module; then, the uModules can be plugged in and removed itself into it, even with the AE system running, so you can reconfigure or add needed functions in form of micro modules "on the fly".

A number of sockets provide access to the bus signals, like CV, gate, cotroller, MIDI start/stop/clock.

Included is a small "key" to lift also modules without knobs in an easy way.

Notes: The uCASE is designed to hold AE micro modules of 1/3 size. It is available in the same widths like the other AE cases (12, 16, 20 units). It contains sockets for uModules over the whole width, so no need for extra carriers for the uModules. The uModules can be plugged in and removed easily, even with the AE system running, so you can reconfigure or add needed functions in form of micro modules "on the fly".

The bus connection to the parent case is made with a short ribbon cable, so the uCASE gets it's power supply plus other bus lines from there.

The functionality is basically the same as the uBASE module; here, to groups of four uModules the bus lines lie CV, GATE, MIDI clock etc. can be assigned individually (not used by the currently available uModules, but will become relevant for future uModules).

Included is a small "key" to lift also modules without knobs in an easy way.

Notes: The VSYSTEM-1 is a complete synth in a case of exactly the size of the Korg Volca synths. It contains the following AE modules:

2OSC/d (dual oscillator)
The 2OSC/d module contains two 1V/octave hybrid oscillators.
Each of them has:
one frequency knob plus a range switch +2 octaves
CV input (1V / octave)
PWM input
SYNC input
Sawtooth / Square / Sub-octave output

The pulse width knob controls either the pulse width of the first oscillator (with the second one having a fixed pulse width), or via a switch the second oscillator is also controlled by the pulse width knob. Both oscillators can be pulse width-modulated independently by their PWM inputs.
The module is designed as a hybrid digital/analogue module; the oscillator frequencies are determined digitally and are therefore quite stable and have a good tracking; the output waveform itself is created analogue. It's a new idea/concept that I have implemented here; the design causes the waveform to gets a bit gritty at higher frequencies (but not "digital noise") - it's the character of this thing!

WASP FILTER
This filter module is a variant of the Wasp filter, a quite strange circuit used first in the EDP Wasp synth end of the seventies, which abuses digital chips in an analogue way leading to the characteristic sound of this filter type. In this module, vactrols are used for controlling the filter frequency.

MODULATORS (containing LFO, envelope, random voltage, VCA)
MODULATORS is a multifunctional module offering different kinds of modulation sources in a 1U module. It is designed especially with very small AE systems in mind.
You get:
An AD envelope generator
an LFO with adjustable rate, square wave and triangle/sawtooth output, pulse width knob and CV control
a random CV source working in different modes (stepped, smoothed, quantized) and a VCA

4ATTMIX
A versatile mixer / quadattenuator.
4ATTMIX offers four input channels which can be level controlled / attenuated by the corresponding knobs. The attenuated signals are sent to four outputs.
Additionally, each channel can be sent to an internal mixer by the switches beside the knobs. The mix signal is then sent to the mix output.
An additional switch selects the general operation mode for the mixer, for DC/CV signals or for audio signals.

SEQ8 (8-step sequencer)
The SEQ8 is an 8-step sequencer for controlling oscillator pitch and triggering envelopes.
Compared to "classic" analogue sequencers it works a bit different: Instead of setting the CV for each step independently (which means in fact "tuning" each step which can be a bit tedious), the SEQ8 has 4 knobs for presetting different CV's (= notes); each of the 8 step knobs selects one of these CVs, plus 0V (=base note) plus Pause (no trigger output). So some CVs have to be fine-tuned once; with the step knobs you can focus entirely on the sequence itself and you can even modify it on the fly, still remaining in tune.
Additionally, to the selected CV presets, the "raw" value of the step knobs is also accessible at an extra output.

DELAY
This module is a standard mono delay with the usual parameters
delay time
feedback
dry/wet mix.
It sounds not as clean and polished as a usual digital delay, but has quite a character on its own. High feedback settings allow endless and distorting loops.
(For the techies: It is based on the well-known PT2399 chip.)

Stereo Headphone amplifier, 2 IN/OUT sockets via a stereo minijack

It is delivered completely with power wall adapter and patchwires; everything needed to get the modular system started!

This is a REAL modular synth system; all modules can be rearranged and swapped as you like!

Notes: The VSYSTEM-3 is a complete synth in a case of exactly the size of the Korg Volca synths. t contains the following AE modules:

DRUMKIT (lofi digital drum module):

DRUMKIT 010 consists of 11 8-bit drum sound samples; 6 of them can be triggered in parallel in any combination by the trigger inputs. With a BANK selector knob, different combinations of the 11 samples can be selected. The PITCH knob affects the pitch of all instruments together, and with the REVERSE button the sounds are played backwards - quite a nice effect to be added here and there.
Don't expect high quality from this module - it's by design a nasty, lo-fi drum sound source, but definitely with its own character. Works great together with the analog KICK module.

KICK (analog kick drum):

It has three knobs: PITCH for the overall pitch of the sound; with DECAY the length of the sound can be set and with DRIVE a nice distortion can be added to the sound.
With the pitch decay switch the pitch follows the amplitude, giving a bit different character.
And a trigger button is available to check the sound without an external trigger signal.

SAMPLYR (sample player with micro-SD card, various loop modes, almost unlimited sample length):

The samples are simple 8-bit mono WAV files. Features of the module are:
CV control for pitch with 1V/octave
Gate input
NO (practical) LENGTH LIMIT for the sample playback, because the module plays the samples directly from the memory card
Sample is displayed on the included OLED display
For each sample, following playback parameters can be edited: Sample start/end, loop start/end, loop crossfade, transpose/tune, all this settings are visible in the display and are saved per sample
Different loop modes can be selected: Oneshot, Reverse, Loop forward/reverse/alternating, loop hold (loop remains playing when gate goes to off)
Editing of the different parameters is accomplished with an endless encoder and a small menu
CV control for playback start, loop start, loop length, reverting playback, sample selection
Six buttons can be used for quick switching between six samples of the current folder
Additionally to the audio output, the SAMPLYR provides trigger outputs for loop start point, loop end point, playback end; by this, certain other operations can be triggered at these specific points, e.g. synchronizing to the loop points.
...and all this in a 1-unit AE module!

The sample files are organized as simple folders on the micro SD card named "A"..."Z" and per folder files named "0....wav, 1....wav, ..."

Included with the module is a micro-SD card with some demo samples; and each buyer will receive an update for the factory samples, made by the sound designer "empty vessel" exclusively for the SAMPLYR module (provided as download later in 2024).

The SAMPLYR module is of course not a hi-fi, high quality sampler module due to its 8-bit design. It has the flavour of the early samplers like EMU II, Fairlight CMI IIx, Ensoniq Mirage... The typical, recommended sample rate is 16000 Hz. these samples can be pitched up by approx. 1 1/2 octaves max.

Beyond the 8-bit resolution, the samples can be also encoded as uLaw and aLaw; in this case, the resolution is true 10 bits. For converting your existing samples, the open-source audio editor "Audacity" is great for the conversion and editing process.

Note: The SAMPLYR module is a sample player only; it doesn't offer recording of audio.

MIXER 4-4 (4-channel mixer):

This module consists of:
An audio mixer with 4 inputs and their level knobs
Additional 4 separate inputs that are mixed at full level (especially for mixing CV signals) and a separate output

HEARTBEAT (precise clock source, with BPM setting, and tempo-tapping):

HEARTBEAT is a master clock source for AE modular, with some additional features. The module offers:
Precise BPM setting with an encoder in the range of 30-300 BPM in steps of 0.1 BPM
A graphical display for the tempo and additional info and menu
A big tap button for setting the tempo by tapping it
An illuminated start/stop button
Six independent clock outputs; each of them can be configured by a menu to a time signature between 1/1 to 1/32th plus dotted and triplets.
Inputs for clock, reset and two CV and trigger inputs that can be assigned to different functions
The clock source can be either internal or an external clock (at 1/96th rate which corresponds to MIDI real time

TRIQ164 (4-channel, 16-step trigger sequencer, with repeat/ratched per step):

Four track buttons select the track to be edited; with 16 buttons each step of the track can be activated an is then displayed by an LED.

This is a REAL modular synth system; all modules can be rearranged and swapped as you like.

Notes: The VMIX-10 R2 is the successor of the popular VMIX-10; a mixer made especially with the Korg Volca series in mind; it offers the following features:

6 mono input channels with minijack sockets each
2 stereo input channels with stereo minijack sockets for each
click-free mute buttons per channels
per channel: level, pan and two FX-send knobs
2 FX send-return sections (send mono, return stereo)
master level control
stereo headphone output with separate level control
four DC isolated 9V power supply outputs, for Volca synths or other devices. The DC isolation suppresses noise especially when powering Volcas from the VMIX-10 (an annoying effect caused by a design detail of the Volcas when powered commonly with the VMIX-10).

The case size is identical with the Volca series, so the VMIX-10 should fit exactly in the Volca stands that are available from different suppliers.

It includes a power supply adapter with snap-on plugs for EU, UK and US (AU on request).

Notes: Especially when adding new modules to your AE modular system, it's recommended to check the status of the supply voltage. When too many modules are supplied by one MASTER or POWER module, the supply voltage can drop too low below 5 volts; this can cause some issues like oscillators losing the tracking/calibration, digital modules can show some malfunction and so on.

To make the voltage check convenient, you can use the VOLTAGE TESTER: You can plug it either into a free socket on the bus cable, or via the included adapter, to the extension header at the front/rear side of the case. Then, 5 LEDs show the supply voltage, either green for "ok" (supply voltage is in the range of 4.9 - 5.1 volts), or other colours for too high or too low voltage in steps of 0.1 volts.

Notes: A set of Patchwires for AE modular with different lengths (10, 17, 25, 40 cm), 6 pieces of each length.

Cable has a soft, flexible silicone insulation, with a gold plated pin.

Notes: The CVADDER-HQ is a precision adder especially for adding 1V/octave (pitch-controlling) CVs. This makes it possible e.g. to transpose a sequence. Compared to general purpose CV mixers (like POLAMIX), this module does the summing of the CVs very precise (within a few millivolts), so the desired pitch is not affected.

The module offers four CV inputs where three of them are summed, and the CV at the fourth input is subtracted - meaning "transposition downwards".

This module also allows transposing the incoming CV by one or two octaves or a variable offset by buttons.

A separate output provides the voltage of the internal transposition (+1, +2 octaves / free).

If the transposition buttons are not necessary and you prefer to have a dual precision adder, take a look at the 2CVADD-HQ module.

Notes: This module offers a four-quadrant-control for CVs via its joystick.

The module can act either as CV source at its four outputs, or as four-quadrant attenuator for the CV inputs. Beyond this, a mix of the input CVs according to the joystick position is provided separately.

Another feature is a gate output that is controlled by pressing the joystick handle.

The joystick remains in each position - there is no automatic "return to centre".

The JOYSTICK module can operate in two different modes:

Quadrants independent: In this mode, all outputs are zero when the joystick is in centre position
Overlapped: In this mode, each quadrant output fades from full to zero over the whole range to the opposite corner.

Together with a quad VCA / mixer (available soon from tangible waves) you can use the JOYSTICK also for mixing/blending four independent audio sources.

Notes: Channel extender for MIXCONSOLE.

This module extends the MIXCONSOLE module with three additional channels; the channel level can be controlled via CV here, too. If no CV is attached, the level knob works as usual volume control.

Notes: A dual LFO with different waveforms and triangle-sawtooth blending.
The 2LFO module has two LFO units with different features and generates modulation voltages mostly below the audio range. This module offers

RATE knobs for controlling the frequency
SLOW / FAST switch for two frequency ranges; with FAST the rate can go into the lower audio range
SHAPE knob for the first LFO, blends from rising sawtooth to triangle to falling sawtooth
Triangle / Sawtooth switch for the second LFO; changes the waveform of the output
PULSEWIDTH knob for the second LFO, this sets the pulsewidth of the according output
control LEDs for the output waveforms
PWM input for modulation of the squarewave pulsewidth of the second LFO

Notes: CIRRUS is a real-time granular processor for audio signals. This module is a 100% adaption of Mutable Instruments' Clouds module, a well known module in the Eurorack world.

The incoming audio signal is divided into separate short particles of selectable size, pitch and shape; these so called "grains" are then recombined in real-time in various assignments and by different algorithms, resulting in interesting, moving textures. This is even more intensified by allpass filters and a reverb, so even a short input pulse results in a huge wash of sound.

The audio processing works on up to 32kHz sampling rate in stereo and 16bit resolution for input and output (and can be reduced to 16kHz, 8bit mono for an increased sampling time of 8 seconds). Even with a mono input signal, a wide stereo output is simulated by randomly panning grains and the reverb.

A freeze button freezes the audio buffer and the sonic qualities can still be explored with the parameters in real-time..

All parameters can be CV controlled, of course.

Notes: DRONE38 is a sound generator with 18 oscillators in total, organized in six groups of three oscillators each. 12 of them can be switched between sawtooth and triangle waves, 6 are fixed sawtooth oscillators.

The groups can be mixed individually with 3 mixer knobs, where each 2 groups can be assigned to the level. Additionally, each group can be activated /"played" with buttons near the group.

The oscillators are not meant to be controlled by CVs, but only set static with a knob. By mixing them, very dense drones and clusters can be created.

Additionally, 6 oscillators can be synced to other ones for extending the sonic palette.

Notes: The FADRMIX JACKOUT is an extension for the FADRMIX6 with two 1/4" (6.5mm) jack sockets for master left/right output and 4 stereo minijack sockets for the FX send and returns.

The module is connected via a small internal connection cable to the right of the FADRMIX6.

Notes: FM synthesis for the AE!

The FMOS is a new digital oscillator that brings FM synthesis to the AE modular! It offers the basic FM synthesis with one oscillator and one modulator, running both with sine waves or triangle waves. The modulation depth and frequency ratio of the modulator can be set with a knob and additionally by CV control. If you want pure sine waves, this is for you too - simply set the modulation level to 0.

The module is based on a simple 8-bit microcontroller and an adapted design of Jan Ostman.

Notes: The GRUNGE FILTER is the AE version of the filter that gave the famous Polivoks synth his unique, rough sound. The Polivoks was a Russian synth that was produced between 1982 and 1990.

Beyond the basic design, this filter offers some additional features:

Two different resonance characteristics, hard and soft

An FM function, that adds the input signal to the modulation of the filter

An optional overdrive for the output, making the sound even more rough and untamed.

Notes: The HEARTBEAT EXTENDER expands the functionality of the HEARTBEAT module. It is connected to the HEARTBEAT module with a small ribbon cable (included) and offers following features:

Six preset buttons to store and recall different tempos with one button press

MIDI in and out sockets with LED indicators: The HEARTBEAT module can follow incoming MIDI timing data (MIDI start/stop/clock) as an additional option; and the current tempo of the HEARTBEAT is sent out as MIDI timing data if it acts as master clock in a complete system - other MIDI devices will follow it's tempo.

A knob that controls either the swing amount or the transition time when changing from one preset to another (known as accelerando/ritardando).

A lock switch, that disable the save button and other functions that could be an issue e.g. in live situations.

Notes: The IMDI HEART module is the central module for using IMDI (the "internal MIDI" transmision) within AE modular.

It receives MIDI, either by a TRS adapter, or via USB-C (the module appears as Class-compliant MIDI device on a computer); the incoming data is splitted up to 16 outputs carrying IMDI data. Each output contains the information of one (or more) MIDI channel(s) and a freely assignable note range, in the standard MIDI data rate or at a much higher data rate. Realtime data, like MIDI start/stop/clock is provided as gate/trigger outputs; the 1/96th clock can be divided to other, slower clock rates.

The outputs can drive then modules that can receive IMDI, like the micro oscillators (uOSC, uFM, uPOLY) and other upcoming IMDI capable modules.

The 16 chains of IMDI controlled modules you get with IMDI HEART is enough for quite complex setups, so in most cases, one IMDI HEART will be enough.

Notes: The MASTER module is the base of an AE modular system if MIDI control has to be possible; it contains:

The voltage regulation (5V) for the power supply of the modules
A MIDI input (minijack; Breakout cable to DIN-5 socket is available separately); the MIDI channel can be selected between 1, 14, 15,16 or OMNI
In/out-sockets (3.5mm minijack) for audio out and/or interfacing with a Eurorack system
All bus signals (CV, GATE, CTRL, MIDI clock/start/stop) as patch sockets
The power supply is a 9V DC wall adapter (see here).


Note: The MASTER R5 is the latest revision of the MASTER module which is the core of most AE systems; what's new here is:

The bus signals CV, gate, ctrl CV, MIDI start/stop/clock can be connected with / removed from the bus individually with the microswitches

The TRS MIDI input now accepts both types of TRS-MIDI adapters

The mechanical design is changed to be compatible with the QUICKSWAP CASE.

Notes: A multi-mode divider for clock and audio signals.

It can be used either for dividing clock signals (e.g. from an LFO, BEATDIVIDER) for rhythmical purposes but also for audio signals - in this case you get subharmonics / lower octaves squarewaves at the outputs, which can be mixed or used separately.

The module has eight outputs which - depending on the selected division mode - provide different division factors of the input signal:

Beat: musical/rhythmical clocks are generated as 1/1, 1/2, 1/4... 1/16 and triplets
Binary: the outputs work as binary counter (same as the predecessor module DIVIDER)
Decimal: The outputs have decimal divisions of the input, meaning half, third, quarter, fifth... of the input clock
Prime: The outputs use the prime numbers as division factors
Fibonacci: The outputs use the numbers of the fibonacci row as division factors
Module power consumption: 10 mA

Inputs

CLK - clock input either triggers,square waves or audio signals
RESET - CV gate or trigger to reset all output signals; in case of audio signals this can get quite unique, ringmodulator-like sounds.
SHIFT - CV gate or trigger to shift/rotate the outputs; usually, the fastest output is on output 1, but with shift the entire output pattern is shifted so the fastest output can be set to any position 1...8.

BUS GATE - MIDI Gate signal from the internal bus

Controls
RESET - resets all output signals; in case of audio signals this can get quite unique, ringmodulator-like sounds.
MODE - select the division mode.
SHIFT - shifts/rotates the outputs; usually, the fastest output is on output 1, but with shift the entire output pattern is shifted so the fastest output can be set to any position 1...8.

Notes: The PAN/XFADE module is a combined routing processor for creating panning and crossfades. The PAN/XFADE works either as a signal panner, meaning one input signal is moved continuously between the left and right output, or, in crossfade mode, where it blends between two input signals into one output. Of course controllable by CV; and working for audio signals as well as DC control voltages.

Notes: The QUANTIZER takes four different CV inputs and processes them in a way that the CV values "snap" to the exact values so that oscillators controlled by the outputs of the module play the notes of a selected musical scale. With an encoder one of 16 scales can be selected and is displayed in a text display,

There are 4 independent channels that are quantized to the same selected scale.

As an additional feature, the module provides a trigger signal for each channel on every change on the output CV.

Finally, with a switch the scale selection can be "frozen" so there is no accidental change possible.

Controls
SCALE Knob - selects the current scale. 16 scales are available, the selected scale will be displayed in the small display to the right of this knob
LOCK Switch - prevents accidental changes of the selected scale when activated
OFFSET Knob - Select from up to 12 notes from the well-tempered scale as base-value, depending on the scale selected. All left would be equivalent to a key of C

Scale selection directly takes place when the SCALE Knob is turned, clicking it has no specific effect.

Notes: The SAMPLYR module is a sample player module, that plays sample files from a microSD card.

The samples are simple 8-bit mono WAV files. Features of the module are:

CV control for pitch with 1V/octave
Gate input
NO (practical) LENGTH LIMIT for the sample playback, because the module plays the samples directly from the memory card
Sample is displayed on the included OLED display
For each sample, following playback parameters can be edited: Sample start/end, loop start/end, loop crossfade, transpose/tune, all this settings are visible in the display and are saved per sample
Different loop modes can be selected: Oneshot, Reverse, Loop forward/reverse/alternating, loop hold (loop remains playing when gate goes to off)
Editing of the different parameters is accomplished with an endless encoder and a small menu
CV control for playback start, loop start, loop length, reverting playback, sample selection
Six buttons can be used for quick switching between six samples of the current folder
Additionally to the audio output, the SAMPLYR provides trigger outputs for loop start point, loop end point, playback end; by this, certain other operations can be triggered at these specific points, e.g. synchronizing to the loop points.

...and all this in a 1 unit AE module!

The sample files are organized as simple folders on the micro SD card named "A"..."Z" and per folder files named "0....wav, 1....wav, ..."

Included with the module is a micro-SD card with some demo samples; and each buyer will receive an update for the factory samples, made by the sound designer "empty vessel" exclusively for the SAMPLYR module (provided as download later this year).

The SAMPLYR module is of course not a hi-fi, high quality sampler module due to its 8-bit design. It has the flavour of the early samplers like EMU II, Fairlight CMI IIx, Ensoniq Mirage... The typical, recommended sample rate is 16000 Hz. these samples can be pitched up by approx. 1 1/2 octaves max.

Beyond the 8-bit resolution, the samples can be also encoded as uLaw and aLaw; in this case, the resolution is true 10 bits. For converting your existing samples, the open-source audio editor "Audacity" is great for the conversion and editing process.

Note: The SAMPLYR module is a sample player only; it doesn't offer recording of audio.

Notes: The SELECTOR module is an electronic switch for any kind of signals to select one of up to eight sources or sending a signal to a specific destination (it's bidirectional). It is also known as "Sequential switch" in former modular synths. The SELECTOR has 8 inputs for any kind of signals, no matter if audio CV or gate, and one of them can be routed to an output in different ways: Either by a knob, or by a CV, or by clock pulses to advance by 1 plus a reset trigger input. By a switch it can be set to operate as a dual unit with 4 inputs each.

It's a quite useful tool for more complex patches, e.g. for selecting between different sequencers, or sending a modulation source to varying "receivers".

Notes: The TBD module is a multifunctional DSP (digital signal processing) module that includes more than 30 different synthesis and audio processing plugins. It is a collaboration project between CTAG Kiel (an academic working group of Kiel University of Applied Sciences), instrumentsofthings.com (who produce this module for Eurorack) and tangiblewaves.

The module looks quite simplistic with it's only three knobs and three buttons, but the power lies in the web based user interface for editing and storing the parameters. For editing, the module is connected via USB to your computer and a small software tool running here is the bridge to the editing of the parameters via your web browser. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: When the editing is done, the module runs autonomously, without a computer!

Up to 10 favourites can be stored on the module and be chosen by the CONFIG button.

Dynamic control of the modules' parameters works via the two CV inputs and two trigger inputs (which are linked to two buttons), and two knobs are also available for live tweaking parameters. The assignment of inputs/knobs to actual parameters is done in the web based user interface.

Please note that the TBD module has mono audio input and output (compared to the Eurorack version which is stereo); plugins that do stereo audio work also in the AE TBD, but only on one channel. ("Why only mono?" you might ask; the limitation to mono is due to licensing agreements to keep the module price in the usual AE range.

Notes: It takes incoming triggers and repeats them - you can think of it as a delay module for triggers. The delay time and the number of repeats can be set with a knob and additionally be CV controlled. Beyond of static delay, the delays of one input trigger can be accelerated or decelerated, leading to the rhythm of a bouncing ball. In another mode, the probability of the output triggers can be chosen.

Different output modes change the assignment of the delays to the eight outputs; either, all delayed triggers for one input trigger are on one output, or the delays go through the outputs 1...8. By this, complex events can be triggered.

Finally, the acceleration and the gate time can be CV controlled as well.

The module is "polyphonic" in a sense, that consecutive triggers at the input don't stop currently running trigger outputs from a previous trigger, but mixing them all. Together with variable delay times and acceleration, highly complex trigger patterns can appear on each of the eight outputs.

Notes: Identical to the OR2x4 module in full size, but shrunk to 1/3 size. It contains two logical OR functions with four inputs each; with a switch they can be linked to an 8-input mode. Useful for "summing" gate / trigger signals from different sources.

Notes: Buffered, switchable multiples for precise CV signals in 1/3 size

The 4BUFFER module is a buffered multiple of 1 in to 2 out.

Buffered multiples have the advantage over the normal passive mults in that there are no voltage drops across the signal path. As the AE system matures into more precision regarding oscillator tracking etc. this is a helpful utility for various situations.

Notes: The uBASE module is the size of a regular AE modular module and is the carrier (or BASE) for three micro modules of 1/3 size or two of 1/2 size. The uModules can be plugged in and removed easily, even with the AE system running, so you can reconfigure or add needed functions in form of micro modules "on the fly".

Included is a small "key" to lift also modules without knobs in an easy way.

Notes: The uBITCRUSHER processes audio signals by digitizing it with variable bit-depth and samplerate; both parameters as knob and also CV control.

Notes: The uENV is an versatile envelope generator with attack and decay controls; additionally, both phases can be CV controlled. The envelope can be configured in AR or AD mode, meaning with or without sustain phase.

The attack and decay times are in the range of 0.01 to 60 seconds; the knobs are scaled in a way that times can be set easily no matter if short or long.

Another configuration option for the output is exponential (the classic envelope shape) or linear.

Finally, an END signal allows operation as LFO by patching the END output to the gate input. A button allows manual triggering as well as entering the configuration mode; a multicolour LED indicates the envelope output or settings when configuring.

Notes: The uFM is an oscillator module, that is focused on FM synthesis.

It's basically a two-operator FM synthesis, but with extended functionality: The operator waveforms can be either sine waves (classic FM), or four other different combinations of non-sinewave waveforms, that produce a much broader palette of sounds beyond the classic sinewave based FM synthesis.

The MOD DPT knob controls the modulation depth; in combination with a button press also the multiplier of the modulating operator can be defined.

Both parameters can be controlled also by CV and also via IMDI by MIDI controllers. The pitch can be controlled via 1V/octave CV or also via IMDI e.g. from a DAW

It offers a variety of waveforms/sounds, depending on the chosen mode:

Sawtooth, can be changed to a detuned group of three sawtooth waves
Squarewave with adjustable pulsewidth
Triangle and true Sinewave
THREE different wavetables, each one with it's unique, smooth blend between 16 waveforms
The pitch can be controlled via 1V/octave CV or the brand new IMDI signal (see IMDI HEART for more info).

The waveform shape can be controlled via a separate CV and/or also with a MIDI controller via the IMDI-HEART module.

Additional to the normal audio output a suboctave output with a squarewave is provided, and a third output with the mix of the primary oscillator signal and the suboctave.

Notes: The uPOLY is a polyphonic, 4-voice sawtooth oscillator module.

It can work either as a source of pre-defined chords in major or minor scale; or it can be controlled via IMDI as a paraphonic oscillator with a common envelope.

Each voice consists of two sawtooth oscillators, that can be detuned by a certain amount; this makes this module most suitable for smooth pad sounds.

A switch changes between minor and major scale; the FREQ knob and the CV input goes through the chords of the chosen scale.

Another feature of the module is a chorus effect that can be mixed into the output.

When controlled by IMDI, the possibilities are even more:

Notes can be played individually
A common volume envelope is applied to the sound; Attack and Decay time can be controlled via MIDI controller messages from your DAW or MIDI controller
An LFO with adjustable rate and depth can be applied
All parameters can be controlled by MIDI controllers via the IMDI HEART module; over one single patch cable! (Regarding IMDI, see IMDI HEART for more info).

Notes: The uPROBAGATE (also known as Bernoulli gate in the eurorack world) distributes a gate/trigger signal to two / three different outputs randomly. The probability knob controls the percentage of distribution to the outputs - from "only output 1" to "1 and 2 mixed" to "only output 2" to further distribution to the 3rd output. The switch allows two options: Only one output at a time - multiple outputs at a time.

Notes: The uS&H / RANDOM / NOISE module combines several functionalities for (pseudo) random control; it includes two sample & holds (one of them can be switched to track & hold) and a random/noise section. The latter can be switched between two types of random CV (stepped / smoothed), these either at an internal, tapped rate or an external clock.

Notes: The uSUBOCTAVE adds pulse waves one and two octaves below the input signal.

The suboctave signals can be mixed to the orgininal signals with two knobs; additionally, the single suboctave signals are available separately at two outputs.

Notes: The uTONE is a bass-treble tone control, that is a quite useful tool to shape the overall spectrum of individual signal paths.
